Robert Ratliff had the vision to start Agco and do the deal with Caterpillar for Challenger. Martin Richenhagen continued that awesome vision with Eric Hansotia taking over the reins for Martin in January 2021. Great to see the past of Allis Chalmers/Gleaner become Agco and the Ag powerhouse we're seeing today. Personally I'm a Gleaner fan so it would be great to see a push by the company here as well. Man this new 600HP 2 track is a tractor Fendt can actually be proud of. Unlike the old rebranded Challenger MT800E, which didn't even have a Fendt cab, and unlike all present Fendt's it wasn't even a CVT. I personally still dont like that they turned Challenger into a mirror brand, but I'm not the business expert, I'm just a tractor fanatic, but hell, at least change the styling on the hood already! (do people still don't know that New Holland and Case IH are the same brand *giggles*) Yeah there's some tiny differences I know.
Good video as always, this time even faster than Fendt XD, will we be able to see the 800 series in autumn? We hope it comes with a Fendt ONE, MAN 6.9l engine and VARIO DRIVE transmission, greetings!

Well, wait until 1st of September of any update of new "yellow" Challenger MT8 series with powershift, engine spec ect. . Hope there it will be any more info at all too. It very likely will show up. I asked him on his latest video. And he responded with 'there are rumors of it this fall' so its possible we'll see it.
Good to see they went back to a proper tractor engine instead of the overly complex V12. What farmer wants to go from an excellent, massive, and easily tunable CAT c18 to something with twice the cylinders, 4x the turbos, EGR and SCR, in the same cab, chassis, and transmission for (maybe) slightly improved fuel efficiency?? (I'm not counting emissions reduction as per EPA regulation, that doesn't practically benefit the farmer. Manufacturers have had to use what's available to comply with silly regulations, at a cost to the real quality of their products.) This is a good step, especially with the Fendt CVT. I hope it works well for AGCO. Seems like they must have some weird management and real bean counters. As a farmer with an early MT855 I've seen places they could have easily improved their tractors like cab suspension, quieter cabs, better shift programming, and on over the years and it took forever. They made little improvements here and there but it seemed like they never tried very hard to go beyond Caterpillar's initial and excellent work on the main machine and track system. It even looks like they're still using the same cab that's almost 20 years old. However, glad to see the MAN and Vario in the best 2 track large frame made. Just need a better cab and a proper 4 track model before Deere, CNH, and Versatile shrink the market too much.

They might repaint a Mt900 series for you, but AGCO doesn't have a strong presence in the 4wd articulated tractor market, so they might just dump the articulated tractors once more.
It is nice to have more horsepower, but is it worth it on 2-tracks or Quad-tracks? It takes more fuel and horsepower to turn/drive the track systems, than it does wheeled tractors. It costs more initially to buy a tracked tractor. When you go to trade in a tracked tractor, you lose quite a bit, because not a lot of people want tracks. When you need to repair the track systems, it is very costly. I think wheeled tractors with Titan LSW (Low SideWall) tires is the best bet for your money. Smoother ride in the field, means faster speeds. Smoother ride on the roads, means faster travel times. LSW tires can go through slightly wetter and muddier conditions than tracks. LSW tires have low compaction. You put all of these things together, and wheeled tractors with LSW tires can add up to a lot of savings over tracked tractors, especially in the fuel department.
@hypercube33
3 жыл бұрын
You get a lot of wheel slippage with low surface area on the ground - which is what the track is good at - putting the power to the ground and gripping it.
@farmboy5622
3 жыл бұрын
@@hypercube33 I understand and agree to a certain degree with what you are saying. The LSW tires are wider and fatter than regular tires, which helps them to put down a footprint as good or better than tracks. Tests have shown that the LSW tires are equal to tracks in traction and slippage, and may even be better than tracks in certain conditions. There are a lot of KZread videos and testimonials to support LSW tires. Farmers are starting to request that new tractors come with LSW tires from the manufacturer/dealer. But aside from traction and slippage, the fuel savings alone is a big factor. Like I said earlier, wheels are easier to turn/rotate than tracks, which can save around 10-15% fuel cost. Traveling faster in the field and on the roads, can mean more money in your pocket. Like they say,....."Time is money." And then when you weigh things like the initial high cost of a track tractor versus a wheeled tractor, and low trade-in values of a track tractor versus a wheeled tractor, and then the big one,.....the repair costs of repairing the tracks and associated components on a tracked tractor versus new LSW wheels on a wheeled tractor. Even if tracks have an advantage over LSW tires in the traction and slippage category,.....everything else adds up in favor of having LSW tires. And I am certain that someone that spends a lot of seat time in the cabs, will appreciate the smoother ride of LSW tires at the end of the day. I have heard and seen videos of farmers hitting football sized rocks in the field, with a tracked tractor, and it gives them a pretty good jolt.

Big tractor Power fendt
Don't get me wrong, new tech is cool n all but some folks just want simple, go to the field iron that's not 20+yrs old, A Russian company has a dealership near me here in Manitoba that sells MTZ and they have it all from yard care to loader chore tractors to 4WD seeder pullers. Lot's cheaper with strong warranty and no def or laptop controls. (as long as you dont care about resale value)
@bigtractorpower
3 жыл бұрын
I often it’s more about what the machine can do for you while you own it than what it sells for later. Having good value is important and helps the bank account but if you can cover more acres for less in the long run that had to have value too.
The thing about more competitors. Is they start adding and selling gadgets. And build quality and maintenance cost suffer.
So are we to expect them to eventually get rid of the yellow tractors in the next 15 yrs like CLAAS did with the yellow and black combines?
@RyTrapp0
3 жыл бұрын
They've had multiple generations of Fendt co-branding - the reason why the Class deal went away was BECAUSE AGCO bought Challenger, and they literally used Fendt to replace the Claas co-branding. AGCO is trying to sell *more* of these machines, not just change the colors of yellow farms to green & red. They didn't have to offer the 1000-series in yellow after all. I see nothing to suggest that anything is being taken away from Challenger, this is to strengthen the brand if anything by spreading their product costs under multiple sub-brands and hopefully increasing the total market for AGCO two track tractors. Like any long term plan in business, it's a gamble, there's always the risk of unforeseen repercussions
@farmerjohnson8121

Agco bought Fendt in 1997. And they bought Challenger in 2002...Cat Challenger branded some tractors for Claas between 98-01...Agco bought Challenger and Claas bought the Cat/Challenger combine division in 2002...Agco will keep the Challenger brand going...It was cheaper for Claas to make one combine in the classic Claas colors. Krunoslav Bilic Photography K Bilic Photography that’s nice but truck can have 800hp but if you put that in a tractor and make it use 100%power all day the motor won’t last a 1/3 the time it should and both Fendt and MAN now that and the Fendt tractor is actually 610 ish hp it has a sort term boast of 673
Ahh moved on. That guy was boring.

I look forward to filming this tractor in full action in the field. For today the company rep walk around is helpful to learn about the tractor. This channel is the only one on KZread with this info so I feel honored to get to share it.
An overpriced Challenger. Fendt fan boys will be lining up with their cheque books. Fools
Nothing more than a challenger 800 serious. Only more ugly. 😂

The CVT transmission is a big advancement for a 600 plus hp tractor. Case IH is the only other high horse power tractor maker offering CVT in its Steiger range up to 540 hp.
