SO glad I managed to secure the last (allegedly) 1250 Triple black adventure in the U.K! last week. I WAS waiting for the 1300 but had to go for it before I lucked out and BOY am I glad i did! I think the residuals on 1250's got a little stonger last week... SHOCKINGLY ill informed design! as for the extra 10 bhp! , NEVER have I thought 'oh my 1100/1150/1200 (and now 1250) GSA needs more power!

I do 90% of my miles on long-distance trips and I have reached a point in life where I want to be comfortable. Aesthetics be damned! This bike is an engineering marvel and built for a man! I’m not the target audience for a GS Adventure - however, I have to say, I think I like it more than the other models. It’s got a sort of Anima, Cyberpunk-esc look with the squarer shapes and larger, flat metal-looking tank panels. I’m sure when people have the time to let their initial reaction abate, and get the chance to see one in person - they’ll warm to the new, daring direction BMW have gone in.

It is a more quirky, bold design, which looks like it takes some styling elements from the big-tanked Paris Dakar bikes of the 80's. Looks better in the flesh when you can see the curved part of the tank. The images released make it look very slab like. Will be interesting to see how many they have sold when we look back in a couple of years. I like it!

The HD Pan Am also automatically lowers the suspension if set-up this way. No need to press a button. The difference though is that the new GS can also do it at the front suspension. The HD can only do it at the rear which is why probably the effect is more pronounced on the GS. I tested the HD Pan Am fitted with it and even though I’m tall enough to really need it I found it to be a great comfort extra.

After that, you can try one and will understand why this thing is so beloved. White collar or not, ASA or not. You can ride 1000 km in a day on those bikes and then go out to visit a town or have a cup of coffe (Also Starbucks if you don't like italian coffee) because your aren't tired. The "looks". Function over form for sure. I happen to like it but its personal for everyone. My question for any "auto-box", why not have a clutch lever? You don't need to "fan" the clutch until you do. Any life long rider should agree. (i think) Just like the shift lever that has no mechanical connection to the box, a clutch lever could be the same. Just sends a signal that you want to disengage the clutch. So simple yet could make such a difference to someone who wants the same level of control as a "standard" some of the time but the luxury of an auto-box most of the time. Do it now !!

  • @NicholasNormile

That sounds like a completely unnecessarily complicated approach when you could just have a normal clutch lever with a quickshifter. Realistically there's no reason to have an automatic on a motorcycle.

It does look like another bike on the market, the HD Pan America. Although that's not a good thing. I thought I'd get used to that bike after a bit of time, but I haven't. Although I have to see this in the showroom, early impressions are not good from my perspective.

One note - it's not the first to get ASA. You can order a 2025 GS (I know because I've done so - waiting on a week 34 build), and you can get ASA on it. So technically, since you won't be able to get a GSA before you could get a GS, it's the 2nd. Sorry, I know I'm being pedantic.

It will happen the same way as all previous GS. First, everyone (not me) was bashing, second, the best selling bike on the maxi trail segment.

REALLY!! I rode the 1300GS a couple of times and I think it sucks! The suspension is WAY more uncomfortable on my 1250GS!

It is interesting to see other manufacturers stepping into the clutchless shifting game that Honda has dominated for years, but as far as looks go……giant Honda Grom comes to mind 😱!

I think it looks super cool. A GSA should look fat! I think the slim subframe of the normal 1300 GS on this GSA would look the coolest. Just a fat tank and nothing else.

The Pan America doesn't need a button to be pushed to lower or raise the ride height, it does it automatically and seamlessly as you come to and take off from a stop. H-D was the 1st to offer the feature. Bro, I know you're excited, but at least get the info right.

Good intro to the bike Bob but I think you should t be afraid to say what you think and it comes across like you’re really holding back on what you think. The bike looks like a 1940’s tank. The look back factor is really important, as you point out, and that bike looks terrible. You drive a Tiger. They look awesome and ride fantastically - that a great combo. The BMW will probably cost circa £27k fully spec’d but stil look like a Lego concept!

i'm surprised about his comments about the looks, does not look like anything i would not have expected or is crazily out of the regular as i see it? Just a new generation of what it was before, nothing like a super weird bike like the Niken or so.
