My 200 Series Altitude is 12 years old now and I still love it the same as I did when I bought it. - I see no need to change now (I'm 73, it will well and truely outlast me) But my son already has his eye on it. Century looks INSANE

One thing I really wish Toyota did more with their higher end car is their wool fabric they've used in the old Century. Leather looks nice and everything, but they it gets hot, leather seat, no matter how much perforation and cooling they add, simply isn't comfortable enough on a long ride.

I can’t agree more with you. Our family owns a Toyota LC200 with fabric interior and I can tell you that a 10 hour long drive under 32°C it is so much better to have fabric seats than in our older bmw x5 with a full leather interior.

If the owner is frugal rich like Warren Buffet he’d go for the Century which is definitely less costly to maintain in the long run.

I heard not anyone can purchase the car even if you have enough money. Here in Japan Toyota will interviews you to see if you really are a suitable person to be an owner of the Century and of course they could judge you are not. I'm not sure about overseas though.

same here, not that I have the money to spend on a new century, I wish more luxury cars had cloth options compared to just leather with Alcantara trims. Leather gets so much hotter than cloth for long drives

Design isn't really innovative. True, being hand built is nice but the quality isn't in fact even good, trim pieces easily pull off, the headlights are flimsy plastic, the grille is cheap, but it does look fantastic, quite and comfortable.

When you see how the production of the Century is crafted, you'll think Rolls Royce is just another car. The logo alone takes 1 month to carve and they hand polish only two bumpers a day. The takt time for each car is 5 hours and they make 2 cars per month.

If you look at Toyota's current trend, I'm not surprised that they gave a new life to Century. They brought back Supra several years ago though it's not genuine Toyota car and they are bringing back Celica, MR 2 and new Land cruiser. What I surprised was that Toyota, not their luxury brand Lexus, went 100% focused to build their best legendary luxury brand. I just can't imagine how exciting their engineers were when they heard about this project. Century has been known only in Japan because it was made for VIP use only. It has never been shipped to other countries because of the strict regulations. Now the original Century(V12) is more than 25 years old, you can buy it from individual dealers. This Century looks to be perfect. There is one feature that this Century shares the same as the old ones: it's the rear seat that extends to the front passenger seat so that you can fully stretch your legs and relax or even sleep. There is distinct difference between Rolls-Royce and Century. Rolls-Royce has been well known throughout the world as the most luxurious brand. So this brand name ,as you know, comes with a premium price tag. Whether you want to pay twice as much as Century , it will come down to whether you want to associate with their brand names. Rolls-Royce or Century. It's a luxury question and it's a $170,000 question. Do you want to pay that much extra for Rolls-Royce or not? One thing I can say is that if you have money, it won't go wrong with either of them and I can see that some Arab rich people would buy Century and compare it with their Rolls-Royce. In the middle east, EVs are not popular at all (because they produce oil) and Toyota dominates the market ,so if there is any place in world where they will see new Century first, it will be in the middle east.

The audacity that it took them 27 years to make an SUV version of their sedan in a market where the time difference between both is usually 1 year.

Nobody would even know it wasnt a rolls... unless they saw it, or got into it.

There are too many RR Cullinan s out there very Comon car ,but the T 3:08 Century is not common

While the RR Cullinan will never win a beauty contest, the Toyota Crown SUV had an open shot at producing a better looking car to go with that fabulous interior, overall first class finish and renowned Toyota reliability, but unfortunately failed the design brief when it most mattered. A few simple design changes would have made a world of difference. Also engine wise, Toyota has a very reliable V8, and with it's racing background and EV tech should have done better in the HP Dept.

For a second I thought the Toyota was going to be affordable and not the chunk of a home price. Honestly if you replace the Toyota logo for a rolls logo 99% of the population wouldn’t be able to tell.

For me the rolls Royce is the boss there is no comparison there the Japanese car is no where close the the rolls Royce but the century is a nice built I like it

Yes. People with money doesn't care about depreciation or fuel consumption. They want the best and prestige, they get RR. For everyday use, they choose land cruiser or lexus LX, not Century, because it's toyota and based from Highlander anyway

Toyota have produced a really great luxury SUV but it should really wear a Lexus badge at that price point. For me though it has to be the Rolls Royce.

$175k is still a lot of money. For those w/ that type of money, I can see why the Century would be appealing as a luxury daily-driver.
