Great looking city bike! Would love to see KTM give the 1390 to Husqvarna and see what they come up with

I have a 2019 Svart and I absolutely love it. This new 801 is a fantastic evolution and I hope it sells really well. Thanks for the review Bob!
Yep. I'll be upping from my 401, which I absolutely LOVE. Also Svart means black so the black colour is no surprise!

The 401 was fun ! This 801 looks fantastic!
Thanx for video. Need more info about suspension specs and off-road capability. Waiting for review. Good luck!
A husky 901 with the specs of the 890 duke R and the perfect bike will be created
Will look forward to your full review. Great work, thanks!
I have a Svart 401 so love this. But... £10,499 I think is a bit steep especially if we are paying even more for that Dynamic mode, what could that be? Another 500 notes!!! Not sure they will fly out of the showrooms imo. Great detailed review as always Bob.
Yep, I'd go for one of these (V7 850 owner)
Busy day for you, Bob. First the updated Rocket, now this 😅😅😅
Now we’re takin, a smartpilen I could live with.
Beautiful bike. My last bike was a Husky (701 SM) and though my current bike is a KTM (1290 SAS), I do very much love Huskies and their design a lot more than KTM's. Can never go wrong with more Huskies.
Looks great and the original 790 spec with 105 Hp and Q/S... That number plate hanger needs to go though
Looks great - glad your getting one for a few months.
This is beautiful, I was waiting for a norden 701, but this is much better
I think it looks great but I think I'll still keep my 2020 Vit 701 which I bought partially due to your reviews on it. Love my bike!

I have a 701 also but I will check it out. I think those who might have a 401 might be more apt to bump up a bit. This bike does have some things I like such as the TFT screen. I wished they had kept more of the look of the 701 which is more unique.
@bikerbeliever8169

The 701 looks better imo. I think this bike looks good but lost a little bit of them sleek lines of the original. The tech and better dash is a welcome change though.
@Win7ermu7e

@@bikerbeliever8169 Agreed. But Since Svartpilen means black arrow, the bronze scheme didnt make sense. I actually think the 2024 401's are a step backwards stylistically as well.
Been waiting for the 701 replacement. This will probably be my next bike, depending on seat options. Ideal height for me is 800mm or lower.
Gorgeous! I would take this over a duke for sure
TFT display is most welcome on the bike! Price is a little bit higher than expected.
Oh, HELL YES ! I'll take that over any orange origami any day ! It's got the right amount of modern with retro cues to make it all work together. Good job, Husqvarna ! And yes, any modern RBW throttle equipped motorcycle should have cruise control as standard equipment. The hardware it's already there, just add the extra cost to the MSRP. It can't be a deal breaker for the majority. Same for adding an QS/Autoblipper. Thanks, MotoBob, for delivering the mail every time ! 😊👍
Finally bike of the year ❤❤❤ love the design and engine is just right for it 😃😆
YES looking forward to an actual 801 review
Stunning agree 👍🏻
I wish they made their own design from scratch. It's 80% Duke 790 except for the wide air intake, headlight and rear light
@Win7ermu7e
2 ай бұрын
It's a naked bike, half the thing is just the motor and mechanicals, there's only so much you can do. The plastics/shrouds are as different as they could make them.
@G1lgamesj
2 ай бұрын
@@Win7ermu7e It's a naked alright, but you can do a lot with design, just look at the MV Agusta brutale and dragster designs. Keeping the engine but starting from a new frame would have been nice but It's obvious they just adopted the 790 frame even the seperate rear part is identical.
@Win7ermu7e

@@G1lgamesj Every svart and vitpilen has used the same frame and mechanicals as the corresponding KTM. It is what it is.
Love it. Can’t wait to get one!
Had the 701 and I wish I hadn’t sold it. Not sure which one I like athletically more but it looks amazing.
I love this bike! However the price point is strange. Consider that a Yamaha XSR900, a bike designed and made to Japan's level of quality, costs nearly a 1.5k less than this and makes more horsepower from a lovely CP3 powerplant, while also having stunning "neo retro" looks. I just don't see how this is going to sell, when Husky is seen as a "bargain brand" stateside.

Exactly Then add in that the 790 engine is made in China...
I was under the impression that the 790 Duke was at 105 hp for 2024. The 95 hp version is for the 'L' model which can restrict down to the A2 47 hp limit.
Kudos for cruise-control!!!
I love your content. Please do a susuki gsx 8r video soon!!!
Need the vitpilen version. Think they missed the mark with the color scheme (silver radiator guards, 801 stripe, etc.), but otherwise still in love.

100% agree with you. Exact same thought.
Hi, J Juan I think are a Spanish off shoot of Brembo. Is the engine manufactured in China and fitted to the MT 800 also ? I’ve seen somewhere that KTM, CF Moto, Norden etc are all fitted with the same engine in different states of tune. What says you Bob.
@yohanyonsson
2 ай бұрын
Only the motor block is from CF MOTO. The rest is from Austria, according to several sources.
Ticks all the boxes for me. If I hadn't just bought a Livewire One and I was in the market for a new ICE, this would be a very strong contender! Fun, fun, fun...
Looks good!
Good summary! I don’t get the aluminum side panels and the strange cut off coloring of the tank, it I’m still getting one. The side panels can be easily replaced
Looks amazing, been looking into 790 duke and this is definitely a bike to consider now, any news on a vitpilen 801?
Any news on a Vitpilen 801? Thanks
Maybe the longer "loan time" will help you evaluate the bike's durability and reliability.
It looks like a fun time and a great bike. can’t wait for more content on it. I’m considering getting it could you do a comparison with the mt07?
Great vid Bob but why are you watching the Magic Roundabout in the back ground?
Will it have any features that need to be payed on a monthly basis?
Looks awesome 👍
The Nuda 900r was sick !
For a Svartpilen name, I wish they added a bit more "scrambling" abilities to it. But nice looking bike, better than KTM in that regard
@MrPavlyuchenko

Yeah I wish it still had spoke wheels and the more offroady pirelli scorpion str. Otherwise I do dig a lot about it.
Looks nice, got much of the tech ppl want these days, I really hope it will sell in decent numbers. I'll definitely go and try it out when it's available, but I won't give up my lovely Svart 701 for it, and they are too similar in style to get one as a second bike. If I didn't have my 701, I'd definitely consider buying the 801. Cheers!
Looks great ✌️
I currently ride the svartpilen 401, I have been considering an upgrade for awhile, looking at the Ducati monster or Triumph Speed Triple, but this I would say is a good contender. Price is on par with the Ducati whereas the Triumph ranges lower to around this. Either way I look forward to the test drive of all 3!
The svartpilen 801 is without a doubt a beautiful motorcycle. The problem is when we compare with the 401 (old) and 701 models… which for me are some of the most beautiful motorcycles out there. But this design was one of extremes, we either loved it or hated it. The new models are not extreme, but they lose their appeal for lovers.
Reminds me of the original superduke so no bad thing there as I loved the looks of that
$13,000 for a 790cc is a shame. At that price I’m much more keen on getting the Indian FTR.
Can you take it to a small off road just like 401?
Looks great, but $13k USD is absurd, so many other bikes on the market with better value.
To have svartpilen in any other color than black would be strange, the color is literally stated in the name: Blackarrow
It looks like a really good UEM.
Looks nice. Not sure the price is particularly competitive though. I don’t think I’d give up my (cheaper) Aprilia Tuono 660 Factory for it.
Any bike based on this platform is gonna be a banger..just a matter of taste.. husky for retro fans. Duke for crazies or CCM for fun on a budget
was hoping for the single coming back . Also, it looks like they are eating Honda's "neo-retro cafe racer" styling lunch.
It’s a differentiated bike in terms of looks, shapes and form. It’s very appealing, but would like to see the blue paint in there. Just all black, besides being always cool, but it is a bit dull as well. Eager to see your review about this one.
I really like the looks Bob, but the price is starting to touch on the Yam XSR or the Triumph 765 R and I would have to go for the Trumper just coz…..
Impressive package! It pretty much nails what I have been looking for: the right balance of performance and economy, the right balance of street and off-road, not to mention cruise control. The KTM looks are just not to my taste. It would be great to see a bit more length in the back of the bike to make touring a bit easier. However, that is really nitpicking.
If you had £10k and some change, would you go for the Husky 801 or a Ducati Scrambler?
Love the style and punchy engine. Also I thing it should have ran rims 👌🏾
Looks good, 100+ hp is just the sweat-spot for me, but i wish it had a lot less electronics. I'm debating this bike vs a more classic bike like the speed twin 1200
One question: is the engine the new 790 produced by Chinese manufacturer Loncin?
As a previously 701 Vitpilen owner, I can’t avoid feelling disapointed by the fact this is neither a Vit nor a Svart but a fusion of bote. I would love to see a propper Vit with those clip on handles and all that character (that is somehow lost in this new model).
Adding this to my list of bikes that I want to swing a leg in 2024 🔥
Good video, great bike but it seems expensive
I like it!
Did the lines become too modern for the past wire spoke wheels? I can't decide.
great vid but can you give us mpg figures as well thanks
Glad to see that the old name of (town and trademark Husqvarna) Silverpilen 175 cc (1955-1965) now preserved in Swedish but renamed as the "Black Arrow"
I wish it still had the spoked wheels
I’ll stick to my 701 svart that I paid $6k brand new…

I love the 701 much better looking.
If they made the vitpilen with a fairing it would be incredible
Have to agree city bike is not the description here. Also it’s fitted with the wrong tires. The bike itself looks great
I would find absolutely incredibly a bike with those looks with a 4 por engine!
It's so nice, I just hope it won't leak oil like her 790 ktm sister
How many names are they going to give to the same bike? All the middle weight bikes are looking a like. Now they are dressing them up like sport bikes. At least the Suzuki SV650 stands out. Even the retros are looking alike except Kawasaki.

Jesse, what the f*ck are you talking about
love it!!
Needs Clip-ons and a Vitpilen badge.
And comes with all the same issues as previous engines. Leaks from coolant and multiple different seals and locations . Just not enough wrinkles ironed out to be called reliable!
Love the look of this one. If I had room for a 5th bike I'd be all over it.
I love a svart, have the 125 and 701. I genuinely thought they were going to ruin it and homogenise it, ok, tick in the parallel twin box, but it still looks like it could get into Berghein and having done some longer trips on the 701, actually smoothing a few things out doesn’t seem like a bad idea. So long as it’s still an animal on the twisties 😈

Nice, having both the 125 and 701. I first got the 125 when it was launched, but after that first season, I traded it in for my 701 :) The 125 was a fun bike for its size, I did over 4000km on it that summer. Main reason I traded it in was that the limited top speed kept me away from highways, it just felt unsafe going slower than the other vehicles 😂
Nice ✌
This or the Yamaha MT-09 SP? Both look to be great bikes, but I’d go for the CP3 🔥🤟🌟
My initial impression about the design is that the 401 looks way better. The more I look at it tho, some angles are beautiful.
Anybody know if there's a Vitpilen coming?
Looks damn good. I prefer Husqvarna’s styling over KTM. I’m a little bummed it didn’t inherit the now discontinued 890 duke motor. The 790 is still good was just hoping for a Husqvarna styled 890 duke r. I own a 2015 KTM 1290 Superduke and wish Husqvarna would put their mark on this beast.
great looking but too expensive you can have street triple r for lower and mt09 for same price
i think it would look better with an exhaust can on both sides to balance out the looks .

There are a few double shortie options. Leo Vince and Austin racing does them.
A MT60RS rear lasts me ~2,500 miles on a Svartpilen 701, they're super soft. Not a great choice for a heavier, torquier bike like this one.
@Rainan-hi8ds

That’s true, especially the middle of the tyre! I upgraded my tyre with Avon spirit, they good for 8k miles.
I have a 401 and was thinking I would like to upgrade to something bigger but I just don like the new 801. It doesnt look nearly as cool without the spokes and tank luggage rack and without the scorpions. Riding stance is too low, and while the added tech is nice the round bezel looked so much cooler (they could have put the same tech in a round display). Its like they combined the svart and the vit and in the compromise they lost what was cool about each
Well the Nuda remains the best looking bike husky have made in the modern era.
I like the 701 desigh more, but for specs this is better
Like a more beautiful and lighter Honda CB650R with a nice torquey twin engine . It is beautiful 😍. If I wasn’t concerned about reliability this would be my perfect commuter. We’ll see .
I would love to see go the Ducati route and carve out a single cylinder 600-700cc bike inspired from their superduke lineup.
Talking about the color scheme of the bike, and that it only comes in black. I would guess it's boils down to the name. Svartpilen is Swedish for Black arrow just as Vitpilen is white arrow. And the heritage from when Husqvarna made them originally. Like the video and is really into getting a svartpilen now
Still no news on a Vitpilen 801?
Any speculation on the fate of the Vitpilen?
