Most of us fail, because of this monster called fear, everything we needed to live a comfortable life is on the order side of fear 😨

Many years ago a friend of mine who worked in an auto salvage yard, found a tattered and neglected Maybach from the late 1930's. He bought it for I think, $50 and brought it home. No one of us had any idea what an incredible classic find it was. My friends and I were really into classic cars but had never heard of 'Maybach.' It was a limo which even had a phone in the expansive backseat for talking to the driver. It was obviously in need of a restoration. Anyway, I don't know what he finally did with the car, but at least I can say I've been in a Maybach. 😅

Interesting his reference to private jets. Here in Monaco, some of the top-line helicopters (including the one the Prince uses) are fitted with Mercedes-Benz interiors. Not only private jets, but super-yachts as well. It shows you that, when they want to do interiors, they do it like no one else!

Well actually the quality is surpassed by Bentley and Rolls-Royce in the selection of leathers and finishes. Lexus quality for rock solid interior fittings surpasses Mercedes. Perhaps this Maybach doesn’t have jittery wiggly consuls and parts. It’s the way that Mercedes constructs the parts to be modular and installed by robotics. Not hand built. The AMG engine facility of Benz prior, boasted of hand built engines and if I recall, a signatures name plaque of the person who built the engine. Undoubtedly it’s a beautiful car with the most advanced technology of all the luxury cars. Notwithstanding, it is surpassed by the others in many ways.

Ummmm.... It's easily bested by even a "base model" Rolls Royce. And the Rolls Royce will retain its value exponentially better than any Mercedes.

Beautiful. It is nice to see Mercedes expanding the Maybach range with this 100 Years edition and the Haute Voiture edition. I hope they keep going and extending Maybach to higher and more luxurious levels. Oh, also glad to see that Mercedes finally got around to mating their V12 with AWD...now, if only they can do that with the future S65 too...

Mercedes Benz Maybach S680 is my dream car. What I like is super luxury interior design

As a Mercedes driver I can appreciate the luxury of this car.two things if I owned one would to discard those afterthought wheels which cheapens the overall look and as a personal preference would insert the 7.3 v.12 Mercedes unit. The opposition is not far off in the shape of the 2023 Bentley.( More upmarket wheels) but lacking the v12 power plant.

The Mercedes-Benz V-12 is a masterpiece! It is just soo smooth and the way it deliver power is fantastic!

This guy has a distinctive, great delivery for these reviews.

I never heard the term "beautiful" as often as in this video but I am certain the latest Maybach is indeed "beautiful". It is amazing what manufacturing technology can produce if money is not or less of an issue. In over 100 years of automotive history, yes there are stark contrasts between the very basic economy box on wheels, the top rides and the plentiful value- and niche cars that the automotive industry has to offer. Thank God for depreciation, which really favors the availability to Mr. and Mrs. Normal. This is wonderful as the loss in values can be almost mind blowing, even on the more regular luxuary liners of Mercedes, BMW, Audi or Lexus. There are great bargains for those who can successfully deal with maintenance or repair issues. Who cares if 1 of your 5 car refrigerators no longer works....lol....

Well the replacement part value for these cars is astronomical and the dealer ship labour rates are phenomenal. You can spend thousands of dollars to replace a Rolls-Royce headlamp shroud. All the European luxury brands unfortunately are unreliable pervasively and prodigiously. They are fabulous cars to lease brand new or if you can a couple years old. The crashing or depreciation chasm of Mercedes and BMW occurs resultant from unreliability and repair cost. The same is not true for Lexus. Statistically Lexus surpasses the longevity of mileage by a factor of two compared to most other cars. Reliability/Quality has been #1 for 3+ decades. The European cars are undoubtedly beautiful, amazing drivability and technos forces + convenience and functionality when they work! I purchased a brand new Benz, 2000, first V8 + 4matic set in the E class, over $100,000. Within three months of owning $15,000 of warranty work inflicted, multiple appointments, failed resolution, followups and an embarrassment to the dealership. It basically was a Lemon, though beautiful car. At the five year warranty death, I sold the car replaced it with a used LS 430 Lexus 2001 ultra premium luxury package. I didn’t know it then but the LS 430 has become The most reliable automobile since the history of the automobile statistically. I added an LS 460 L all-wheel-drive ultra premium luxury package, a 2010 as I don’t like the new spindle grills. I love Mercedes but would never own one or depend on one only in a crash.

As I said, in my message, people like my mechanic truly benefit from depreciation as they have the skills to keep these cars running, being able to drive luxuary cars at the price level of a Toyota Camry....
