I've had this light for about two solid months now, I really like it! I agree, super bright. When by myself I use the 400 lumen day flash, when in group I keep it on the steady economy 18hr flash. USB C is great. That said I want to pair it with another light to keep one flashing and one steady when solo but have not decided on switching to say the lezyne strip drive or perhaps getting another zecto400.

Yea the high intensity flash is too short imo its like a red camera flash. But i ran it last night on my velomobile with my other couple lights i have to say that my Feniex 20 watt red strobe drowned it out idt its 400 lumens. I will not be running this light with my velomobile at night anymore however would be a great light to put on my bike bags and clip to my backpack and clothing for wen i go out walking at night. Most other cycling lights on the market have a solid between flashes like the exposure lights blaze and the exposure lights boostr react.

@@outtyoutdoors Yeah great clip it has. Feels strong. Ended up buying another one of these to pair them up when solo! They feel like great quality.

@@jax02zerotwo for the price they are good quality. Higher end lights have an aluminum housing like the exposure lights blaze or the exposure lights boostr reakt.

It definitely is the new version, old one had 3 large LEDs, 5 small multicolour LEDs on the side and a micro USB port. One thing the old one also has is a hard plastic clip, which leaves nasty marks on the seat post. Does the new version have a clip made from hard plastic too, or did they add some sort of soft/rubberised material to it? BTW 400 lumens is mental. I have an old 250 and even that one feels like an insult to drivers behind me.

Yea 400 lumens is a lot however the 400 lumen mode is more of a camera flash every couple of seconds so its not useful on its own u should def use another rear light with it on that mode. Surprisingly i was running this light and an exposure lights boost-r reakt and i still got hit and it was still daylight out wearing bright colors on an open trike and the driver said they didnt see me thats why i havent posted any new content lately. Theres really nothing u can do to be seen that a driver wont use that excuse. Drivers will say they didnt see a giant yellow school bus with its reds on. As for the plastic clip yup same as old hard plastic. I wanted a light with a clip that way i can clip it to saddle bags, to the back of my shirt, seat, etc for doing multiple different types of activities where i may be on the road. Sometimes i cant sleep and just go for a walk at night. On these country roads where i live theres no sidewalks or street lights so this is a good option. But i wont be using this light on seat posts mostly on the back of recumbents or clipped to clothing so shouldnt be an issue but if u wanted to i guess u could put a peice of nano tape there under the clip would stop it from rattling and prevent scratches on ur seat post.

@@outtyoutdoors sorry to hear about you getting hit. Speedy recovery, mate. Distracted and ignorant drivers are a nightmare, no light will stop them. I've lost count how many close calls I had with people trying to turn across in front of me, despite me running a strobelike light in front, and then being surprised that I'm upset. The idiocracy is here.

@@hughjanus7354 well according to my doc i can ride again. But my lawyer doesnt want me posting details of the accident on social media so ive been putting together a video of my experience on the accident the recovery, etc. Wenever the case is settled i can release it.

The Day Flash mode in Strip and Zecto lights is purposely with that "spaced out" flashes - it is WAY more visible to other road users than a regular flash pattern (and old Lezyne Day Flash modes when you had Low-Low---Mid-High---Low-Low---Mid-High). There are studies that shown how irregular flash pattern is more visible than regular flash or steady light. You can see it also in the Bontrager lights. The new front Lezyne lights also have that kind of spaced out Day Flash mode. As for seeing you at night - as the mode name says, it's Day Flash mode 🤡. It's way too bright for the night! PS. Yes, you have the newest model. The old one had 3 LEDs.

I would think irregular would be flash-flash, flash, flash-flash like the exposure lights rear lights do. That ling pause i assume is to recharge capacitors. But i do run a feniex red strobe on my velomobile and on the dimmer flash modes at night ive noticed cars dont get over at all. Even with reflectors everywhere its the bright strobes that gets drivers away from me. Ive been told that the red strobes are almost invisible during the daylight in direct sunlight. So i am considering adding a green strobe for day use.
