I worked in Appalachia for years, off and on. One time working an oil pipeline I was sleeping in my truck, usually at the Walmart parking lot. But this night I decided to stay at a campground. It was very secluded and I think I was the only one there. It was so run down, I instantly regretted going there. I had to sleep with the windows open and my feet actually hanging outside the truck. It was an eerie night with a slight fog. Still, it was peaceful. I went to sleep with the feeling I was being watched. When I awoke the next morning I saw a small black creature I assume to be a bear cub or a juvenile black bear. I didn’t stick around to see the mother.

Some people in Eastern Europe believe that in each home, a creature named: 'domovoy' or in translation, 'household' deity exists. Many people have described that it looks like a combination of an elderly man and a dwarf with a very hairy face, which appears rarely and is invisible for the most part. A lot of people have described it being like a poltergeist that also enjoys eating sweets. Things went missing is a common one, too.( Some folks would leave sweets for domovoy right before sleep.) Also, certain individuals who believe in them, couldn't fathom the reason why they all have had sleep paralysis at night... My grea-grandnma had 'someone' ringing the doorbell, turning off lights, turning on falcets and an invisible force chocking her. Later it was revealed that it all meant that the city won't have water, power and someone will arrive at her door. Later it were armed people ( conflict back in the 90s in Caucasus. Those were rebels and/or t*********.) The chocking part was telling her to get out. Those are demons in disguise trying to decieve us. In fact, fallen angels can somewhat see the future ( only what God allows. ) I also remember someone in online forums mentioning that they had seen a reflection of an orhodox version of St. Mary at night right on their closet, and a month later; that person's parent had died... Fallen angles are beautiful, even in their fallen state. They want us to think that they look like hideous creatures, and they can also appear to deceive us. I saw my great-grandmother's face in the air the day she died. I also remember a decade ago seeing a very hairy face, and not being able to move... Nostradamus managed to predict many centuries ahead, yet he was involved with the occult practices. (Not all of his so called 'predictions' came true.) Quite possibly Simpsons' many other predictions came from it as well. No demon can scare you when you have Jesus!

Call me ignorant or a hypochondriac but I guess that's what floats my boat. Obviously everyone has to be realistic and keep their head screwed on.

The reason that so many people go missing on those trails is a lot more obvious when you know the trails. It is very easy to walk off the trails and continue for miles before you realize that you've lost the trail, if you're not near a place you can safely get your barings and get back on trail when that happens, or if you are and you simply can't find it and don't realize it because you're lost, very natural and normal bad things can ensue.

5 figures looking at me in the treeline A giant 9ft tall thing in the woods at 130 am while deliberately cryptid hunting A creature mimicing my freinds voice then disappearing behind a tree then a dark figure paceing around the door at night for an hour Someone yelling for me to come into the woods at 11pm then hearing what i can only describe as a demonic gargle and then russleing in the bushes The most frightening when camping in the woods with my freind in november of 2023 we were looking for cryptids as a joke It was all fun and games till we actually found something We stumbled across a dead dear with its eyes missing and no other damage to it lying in the creek After standing in shock for 5 minutes everything went quite A tell tale sign from nature gtfo Then we heard loud sloshing from down the creek aproching us Fir the rest of the night we heard things walking around our tent that where very clearly bipedal

Have lived here all my life. Never have seen anything like that, or anything out of the ordinary.... Great place to live!

Never watch never visit Appalachia at 3 am at 3 am

Very true. Of course something like feral people in Appalachia could potentially exist, they don’t seem to defy the Biblical notion in life on Earth beyond death the way that ghosts do.

I've hiked and camped most of North America's trails including the Appalachian Trail and it just comes down to being cool and mellow when nature comes upon you, whether it's bears or cougars or porcupines or "cryptids". Just stay mellow and let them check things out and they'll go. Assuming of course your camp is food safe.

@kevinthompson7649 I've camped all my life here in Australia, dragged tinnies in low tide waters that have 5metre+ Saltwater crocodiles lurking and had my fair share of venomous snake encounters along with countless amounts of spiders squished under my shoes, swam in waters that have blue ringed octopus and deadly jelly fish and paranoid thoughts don't live rent free in my thoughts and we are taught since shitting in nappies not to touch anything that has a heartbeat and an arsehole, but America would personally be the last place I'd visit as I don't want to be torn to shreds by a cougar or bear! Call me ignorant or a hypochondriac but I guess that's what floats my boat. Obviously everyone has to be realistic and keep their head screwed on.
I love the Appalachians, and mountains in general. I went to the Shenandoah National Park on my visit to the U.S and got to hike Hawksbill Mountain and Stoney Man Mountain. Absolutely great views.
I only go there at 3:00 AM with Mr.WestTek 😂
You had me at “never visit Appalachia”
Lived in the Appalachian area for 30 years, so does my family. I've definitely seen some scary ish.
