i tested him some more after this video and i like him better with acheron with his LC (gallagher still great ofc), trend is fine too but if you go that route you probably go full def relics to compensate for the low def of trend

Something nice about the Effect RES on his shield is that it legit allows for Broken Keel to easily procc, allowing for you to be able to build on other stats for support characters which allows your main damage dealer a crit dmg buff

If it helps the damage is more of a QOL feature and he will be relatively easier to build thanks to his innate crit buffs

it's ok we will have up to 35 pulls at the very least in the second part of 2.1. it is considered you cleared every bit of content already. if you didn't, you can farm even more

If you're currently at 100 then you're pretty much guaranteed Aventurine before the end of his banner unless you get really unlucky and need to go to 81+ pulls/high soft pity for each 5 star.

10:17 2144 shields with only 3.1k def is kinda crazy 💀 my (future) aventurine with 4k def and 32/180 is gonna eat it good!!

The first thing I’m going to do when I finish building aventurine is fight the abundance deer at the highest level in simulation universe. I’m sick of being one shotted by his insane nuke. I have no 5 star sustains and I’m proud of myself that I’m at equilibrium 6 being able to get through every difficulty level of SU, some G&G, and swarm. A little traumatized, yes, from getting killed so many times, but still proud of myself for being persistent and getting through them. Aventurine will feel like a well deserved reward.

Killed him in Preservation Path with DHIL, Fire MC, March7th and Natasha. Was hard but did it :) Also you don't need sustain if you kill him before he can do much with Hunt Path and good DPS like DHIL :)

I spent a bunch of money on Acheron but I'm still gonna try for him because he has such great synergy with Topaz and Dr. Ratio. Also who wouldnt want to run Bronya and the Debt Collectors.

I feel like Clara would be a very good character to have next to Adventurine since she provides an extra stack when attacked with her follow up which can do damage and her ult allows her to always add 2 stacks whenever someone gets attacked.

Do you have Clara's signature? was wondering since my Clara wasn't able to take 10 hits in a row from enemy advance forward and eventually died, so now I'm kind of thinking about it way too much since I thought they would pair really well

I guess you can conquer any SU with Preservation now. Yk the buff that prevent you from getting dmg exceeding shield strength every time you use path resonance and energy regeneration for the path resonance every time your character get shield.

One think I think might be worth considering with Aventurine is running Def pieces on your other supports. Shields are basically a second HP bar when it comes to calculating damage. So if your characters have more Def then their shields have more nominal value because they are taking less damage. This is only really an option for your support units who are likely already stacking HP, however I think opting for Def pieces or at the very least switching an HP piece to a Def piece might be very valuable for more tanking if necessary.

I am of the opinion that Aventurine still needs a little bit of speed just for being able to take as much turns per ally follow up in a follow up team or to be able to get that turn of getting that shield at refresh duration again. But slow aventurine still has some perks with his shield amount

Who knows. Maybe DEF% boots is better than SPD boots since that’ll make his shield more EHP, make his FUA do more dmg, and etc. SPD doesn’t really matter if your shield is still good and up-and-running without the need to refresh it. And even if you need to refresh he can do his FUA and refill his shield automatically for the entire team. But take this with a grain of salt since i dont really use preservation characters much. And I’m just saying hypotheticals and my thoughts.

I also think so. I'd rather he be faster than deal negligible damage. He can generate sufficient SP and refresh shields on time especially against fast enemies who only knows Tingyun as the target (It happened to me on the trial quest. I used him against the precious chest mini bosses and it kept attacking Tingyun non stop. Aventurine was so slow, he couldn't keep up with the barrage of attacks on Tingyun even with his follow up refresh). Plus, I usually run very fast teams especially with Sparkle, being fast reduces his shield up time quicker than him able to refresh it. Oh this is outside of FUA teams, of course he won't be stacking passive as often. I tried to use him outside of FUA to test his versatility in team comps. I used him with DHIL and Sparkle, and there are instances he needs speed because DHIL only has 2 SP left since Aventurine hasn't made his turn yet.

If you're running him with a ruan mei with ddd he can easily forego speed boots (can reach his stats needed to go twice quite easy with 2pc speed), if you got good speed substats and ruan mei that also works without using DDD I'm gonna use s5 trend and he will be on my ratio team with ruan mei so he's def/def/def/err

Silly Brax, we already had early access. 2.1 story pretty good early access.

I know it's too early but based from current leaks about Jade's kit where she buffs an ally and whenever this ally attacks, Jade gets her FuA stacks per enemy attacked by that buffed ally. Aventurine's frequent FuA plus being aoe attack would really boost Jade's FuA stacks. Other FuA unit would work too but those with aoe FuA would work better. Xueyi for example

I was planning on pulling him already, but he felt even more comfortable during the story than I had hoped. I did deviate from the plan to pick up Acheron, but I still have enough pulls... given I skipped so many units like Ruan Mei and Sparkle. Hopefully I can hobble together a good F2P build for him. I have Huohuo, so it will be great to have another premium sustain for SU, MoC, and Pure Fiction.

yes, unless you have his sig LC and go for the sub DPS route. I would run 100% def on him (rope, body, orb, boots) and let him be a crazy shielder, while still doing damage. Maybe change the def body for CRIT damage. Your choice, but use the def/shield set.

Defense set is better as his attacks scale off defense as noted in 8:20 although 2 piece of each set would work better for a damage centered adventure

Moment of Victory seems to be the best lightcone for him in terms of defense. Because of this CC resist talent and him gaining 2 stacks when he’s hit, it just makes sense to put MoV on him cos it adds taunt value. And the effect hit rate helps with building Belobog 2pc on him. MoV just seems more valuable, too. Cos it’s just 30 wishes worth in the starlight shop Vs gambling 75/25 in 60+ wishes for his signature cone.

same! i didn't get the same hype as the others and to be fair i already have good dps, i'd rather have fun with the ipc team than get excited by huge numbers, our gamba churin will come home, im going for his lc + e1 he deserves it

i swear this is gonna be the longest week of my life. I have him pre-farmed, and ready with a 2-pc duke/2pc knight set and salsotto planar/destiny LC. he is getting maxed out like topaz, and I wanna try to run some experiments to try and put him with Clara as well. Clara's nature is gonna be kinda tough to work around no matter what, but I feel like we could make it work with some Aggro control like March. I've been looking into this idea, and I think it could work. maybe not the optimal team comp, but the only thing march needs DEF for is her shield, and her follow-ups trigger if any shield is hit, not just hers. meaning you can basically ignore march's DEF with aventurine. a team of topaz/clara/march/aventurine would consist of aventurine shielding, march aggro-controlling clara to hopefully trigger a lot of follow ups. thus adding to aventurine's counter for even more follow ups, with all these follow ups also advancing numby. the end result, in an ideal scenario is two-fold: 1: numby becomes the NPC equivalent of seele, getting more turns than she has any right to ever need. 2: follow-ups go brr.

Oh hey, it's the exact team I'd probably use with him. Knowing his LC isn't "necessary" is good too, as I have limited pulls as is. I considered using any "extra" pulls I had on Jingliu as well, but maybe I'll see who all is on the next set of banners before doing that. I went F2P all or nothing with Topaz and got E1S1, so Aventurine is a must-pull for me. I'm just hoping RNGesus looks kindly upon my rolls.

Should I start building my E1 yanqing as the ultimate test for Aventurine's shielding?

Abundance is getting the Genshin healer treatment. Maybe they will throw some miserable shield-ignoring enemies in there to complete the cycle. IDK if I'm pulling, feels like I'm supposed to but have no real notion of what to do next before Hoyoverse screws us over again.

I actually wanted to pull him over Acheron at first, but a few factors (which include getting Gallagher and Pela eidolons) convinced me to pull for her. I still have pretty good odds of securing him though. Next patch it's looking like I might finally be able to save up Jade, especially now that I've got all the reruns I wanted to see. Silver Wolf, into Ruan Mei, into Kafka, then a one banner break for Black Swan, and then into Sparkle and Jing Yuan was REALLY rough on units I wanted to obtain. I lucked out and got all of them. Robin and Boothill do look good, but I could be fine with or without them.

since you're constantly applying shields does this mean his talent gives you the effect res all the time makes it easier to trigger broken keel without needing to farm effect res substats?

Yep, as long as the shield still on your characters, that effect res still applied all the times

Effect rest sub relics and the light cone can trigger the 10 percent crit bonus which is great for the entire party and Aventurine himself

I will be going for Adventurine with my FtP second account I started up at the tail end of 1.6 (Ruan Mei banner). I got Luocha, but still need another sustain. I'm also trying to run completely different teams on that account vs. my main one. I didn't do Kafka on the main account so the alt has Kafka and Black Swan. The main has Acheron so I didn't chase her on the alt, but will make the follow up team instead.

I've been running follow-up teams since launch, pretty much (Jing Yuan and Clara were my first DPS's). Topaz, Ratio, the Duke set, and now Aventurine make me so happy I stuck with it instead of listening to doomposters.

would you say he needs his LC like acheron? i also noticed his E1 is honestly kinda good for team buffing stuff

His lc really isn't that good, it's just there if you want to build him more for damage since without it his damage is really not worth it and with it it starts being more noticeable If you had to pick I'd go for e1, if you lost you'd be guaranteed on the character banner at least

@@kpkazan yeah ive been doing reserch and his E1 seems to be way more worth getting this his lc. and i dont got garentee sadly but my pitty is around 65+ or so. so ima keep saving till he comes out and hope i get him

I pulled for e2s1 Acheron but I’m still going to pull for e0s1 Aventurine to pair him up with her (maybe e2s1 if I get lucky with my pulls). His sig applies debuffs with his fua which means more stacks for Acheron. Also if we’re getting a nihility unit that applies debuffs whenever an enemy takes action (like we see with the second buff in the recent pf), then trend will lose its value if you choose to use them with Acheron. Acheron can only gain one stack per action. But I really love seeing his fua animation and after 2.1 story, I have to pull for him. They really made me feel emotional towards him with his back story and how he had come so far. In the end, he wins the gamble.

since a lot of new characters, lightcones and relics got released can you make a new Sushang guide?

Would it be better to pull for Aventurine, even though I already have all the sustains (except Luocha)? Idk if I should go for a guaranteed Argenti (I need a physical DPS) or just pull for Aventurine and gamble for Argenti? (I’m not even sure to get enough pulls for Aven until the end of 2.1)

Considering you already have all the sustains and want/need physical dps (especially for Pure Fiction) I’d recommend going for Argenti. I got him unplanned and tbh he dishes out some of my highest hits of all dps units I have where only Acheron currently is stronger than him. Also, he goes crazy against the weekly bug!! And Erudition path in SU is also nuts with him lol

Content Creators will cause drama just to get more views. The early access program is a net plus for everyone in the community, including CCs and consumers. By now people should know that the team behind HSR is willing to listen to feedback. It is not necessary to cause an uproar in the community to get thier attention. I believe it is great if people speak out if they have an issue with the game, or the actions that the team behind the game take. But, drama is unnecessary. Brax's integrity should have never been questioned.

im not brax but, with concert for two 32% def increase at s5, max def traces (35%), and knight set bonus (15%), you still need 4 def% mainstat to reach 4.4k def. with 3 def% mainstat its around 3.8k def (aventurine's signature gives so much def you can do 2 def% mainstat and still reach 4k with some lucky substats lmao)

Hello Brax, when I ran him in the story I decided to try him with Clara for more follow-up attacks🤖 Unfortunately there is some anti-synergy with this: when I went against the clock alarm enemies⏰ and they took the turn because my team didn't have QUA/Lightning, with ultimate up every enemy hit Clara, her shield ran out and she wasn't able to survive because no panic button. Not sure if her S1 would change this (I was on 4p Guard, can't get the cone yet), or some extra SU blessings but yeah. If we get the limited 5-stara Clara powercreep that's probably the only character he won't be able to support very well, when Luocha is a great pair. I'm still pulling for the great sustain value since Luocha literally never left my team from day 1 of his release just a little bit upset about the fact😔 and not sure he'll be the better pick for mono-imaginary

I realize this is a bit after the fact now, but I skipped Acheron and Boothill to get Aventurine and Lady Fu. I am a PS5 (only) player, and got multiple Bronya and Clara on 50/50s. I am quite excited to have both of them so now I have two great tanks for two different teams!~

I tried to save up for Jingliu's rerun and for Aventurine. Acheron is cool, but I already have two five star Lightning units, so I felt I didn't need another. Hoping for some luck!

I'm at a cross roads... i'm new to SR (lil bit more than a month) and I have managed to amass enough funds for 2 more pittys. (Might be able to squeeze out a 3rd one by the end of 2nd banner half, maybe). So now I gotta choose... if I will make an attempt on the S1 for my Acheron (my only premium unit other than Sparkle) to further strengthen my current main team / team 1; OR get Jingliu so I have a core for my 2nd team... OR go for Aventurine so I have at least one OP 5 star sustain to carry me through the game (and also having the option to use shields rather than having healer options only)... Either option is really good in their own way, but I can only guarantee to get one of those 3 things, the others are a gamble. Any recommendation?

You have Acheron? I’d for sure go for Aven. He is a damn good unit and will keep you more than alive.

The reason why you were 1 cycle slower with his signature lc was because you used ratio's ult on the already low enemy instead of cocolia.

even if I managed to get Acheron and her lc I'm still gonna try and pull for him. I may have gotten her lc in less than 80 pulls despite losing the 75 25, but considering my 50 50 luck I don't trust that I'll be able to win this one either, maybe I will which I HOPE that's the case lmao
