    I don’t think Bryan deserved all of the shit they gave him, however Bryan should have picked up on the vibe of the interview and taken a more serious route. A good interviewer isn’t just someone who tells jokes all the time, it’s someone who can flow with the tone of the conversation and mine the artists mind for interesting information as they go. I don’t think either was at fault, they just weren’t on the same wavelength.

    @@jannananaa that's because Bryan had a good understanding and grasp on his audience and what they latched onto. If people wanted to hear pseudo deep bullshit rambling about how "humble" and "real" they are, then they would go watch the millions of other shitty interviews they gave, where they copy/paste the same bullshit, played out responses over and over. Bryan understood how to make his audience connect with the bands that he interviewed, by bringing them down to their level, with dumb humor and such.. Bringing out personalities that the fans could actually relate to in a genuine way. Also why would they accept an interview from bryan when they have been interviewed by him before and know his interview style. Couldn't possibly be because Bryanstars had a large audience.. "REAL" my fucking ass, they are as phony as they come.

    @@transient442 Chris also admitted to being on acid during this interview and if you’ve ever been around acid heads they’re always talking about losing your ego and how everyone is their own god and that we’re all living in our own personal heavens and all that mumbo. Which is fine but obviously that’s not what Brian’s audience wants to hear so he was probably trying to divert the conversation away from all the “acid talk” which I don’t blame him at all for. All these people talking about “Brian can’t comprehend such a deep intellectual conversation” are literally just being dumb.

Not every interview has to be about the deep "substance", fans like to get to know their favorite bands by watching funny, silly interviews that reveal more about the personality and individual quirks. I assume they were just generally pissed off with Bryan because the supposed rumours about the band breaking up and the way Bryan just played it off like it was nothing when they were obviously pissed off about it. Maybe they would be pissed off because they actually assumed "Well the first interview was fun and a bit pointless but maybe for the second interview Bryan will be mature" but instead he acted like a manchild. And he is a manchild, honestly, 26 year old who asks immature questions to mostly mature adult musicians and has a cringy blonde emo hair cut that makes him look autistic. Bryan got what he deserved.

    Notice how at first, Bryan's questions were actually SERIOUS and about music. And then two years later, when Chris has obviously MATURED, Bryan is asking stupid questions to a band who is incredibly SERIOUS about this band and was politely saying to Bryan that they would like SERIOUS questions. And if Bryan was a PROPER interviewer he could of JUST asked serious questions about music

    I actually think Chris was really respectful in the way that he tried to give advice and guide you in a more productive direction for your interviews. At the end of the day, they do what they do for the music, they trust that fans don't want to hear about stupid irrelevant questions because that is time wasting. It was a waste of your 7hour drive to ask how they would break up with a girl and it was a waste of their time too. I think the way he was so honest was genuine and you should have taken that to be constructive and not that he has been snobby or anything other than respectful to you for saying that.

Even botdf, chill guys, I don't necessarily like botdf, but they let the interview go amazing. This really pissed me off because Bryan worked so hard for this channel, just to be called a joke. To be fair, unfortunately Bryan’s audience at the time thought asking inappropriate bullshit questions was funny and cool. People gravitated towards Bryan because all the other interviewers asked the same questions “why this album, how’s the festival going, what elements are you introducing in your music?”. Personally I always cringed at these interviews, but not once did I ever hear scene kids complain about Bryan’s interviews. Chris did handle it 80% well, but I honestly think he should’ve just asked to cut the cameras and talk to Bryan one on one rather than have the whole band make him feel like shit.

    Watched the video with an open mind. From the beginning of the interview the first thing that was noticeable was the posture of the band. They seemed tired but ALL of them seemed to be upset with Bryan. Not just Chris. When asked, Chris said they were upset with Bryan starting rumors the band was breaking up. Being this is their occupation the anger is understandable. Then the following questions were taken as disrespectful and demeaning.Chris even tried to steer the questions to music but that was ignored.Once questions went to music they started to open up.Chris's anger popped when it went back to the silly questions again.I counted FOUR times, check it yourself, where Chris had to say "ask us about our music".I've talked to a LOT of musicians.You have to approach each differently.If you interviewed your mom about her cooking would you ask her these kind of questions? They felt diss'd.I talked to them at a gig in Cleveland Ohio at the Grog Shop. Very down to earth and humble but I didn't ask them their pornstar names either.Going to be honest, I don't think they were in the wrong.

    I am completely on NSN’s side. These questions are absurd and they made it clear they weren’t feeling it. “What’s the best way to breakup with a girl?” Asking a guy who’s with a girl?? Like I remember being on Bryan’s side when I was like 14 but this is ridiculous like my god 😅

    yeah, i know it’s his gimmick to ask like silly/goofy questions but chris did asked him plenty of times to try and switch it over to more serious questions about their music and such. you can see him slowly growing irritated when bryan doesn’t ask real questions.

  • @MCernoble
    @MCernoble10 жыл бұрын

    i will admit one of the reasons chris got mad was because he probably expected questions that have to do with like the album. Sure the fans want to hear about new music but they also want to know the man writing the music and bryan was doing that. But Chris just didnt see it the way everyone else did.

    Mind you , Bryan’s fan base was like 14. He is asking questions about body parts, comparing these guys to pornstars, and asking a bunch of Pervy questions. NSN was like 6 years into a career here and Bryan couldn’t get it together. Nothing was organized and Bryan’s delivery was unprofessional. These interview should have been 20min of amazing questions NSN was one of the realest musicians ever. Such a mature and well spoken dude. He has a kid now, I’m so happy for Chris. Bryan we all want the best for you. But you went out so bad dude.

    Also, Bryan's interviews were never solely focused on the music. They were always meant to be laid back enough that the artists can really be themselves and so that the audience can get to know the artists outside of their music.

    totally. you get so many bullshit interviews asking dumb questions like this. no one likes being interviewed about something they aren't passionate about and a lot of artists don't trust interviewers or the press because they can skew things to their own perspective.

    I totally see how Chris got frustrated with Bryan with talking about the most stupid and irrelevant shit. Yeah, he probably shouldn't have been that rude at times, but c'mon. They came to get interviewed about their music, not their porn star names or how hot they are in prison terms.

    maddie hicks I agree, everyone knows what Bryan Stars is about, it's pretty much his signature to ask what your porn star name would be, and again, every body knows that. Chris could have easily said no to the interview because he obviously knew too what the content of the interview would be

    Bryan must have no social awareness. The second he saw it was going left he should’ve just come up with questions off the fly. After a bit you could tell he wasn’t even listening to their answers, he was just thinking about the next shitty question he was going to ask. The kid took everything personally. I don’t even like the way the dudes were acting but my god. Bryan took no responsibility.
