He didnt't change key.... He went up an octave in the same key. Even if he did change the 'key' it would be a modulation not a key change. A key change refers to a different part of the song being in a different key rather than the same part of a song being in a different key of chord 2, 3, 5 or 6 in the previous key. :)

i can't help but imagine someone alone on a stage (or thinking they're alone) and a spotlight was left on after closing and they just start singing because they love it and they get so lost in the music they don't even realize people have sat down; they get so into it that they're just dancing around the stage belting out every note and that last quiet "for me" is when they finally see the small crowd of strangers and friends and get self-conscious again

Caleb, hearing you jump into your higher register is SO SATISFYING! There was a similar "holy shit" moment in your cover of Let It Go where you suddenly went up an octave - just wanted to let you know that it amazes me every time. Keep up the great work
