You judge entire India based on such stereotypical places like Delhi and Varanasi which does not represent entire India! I know of India is it has many shortcomings but overall the country is just amazing with such an insane diversity in its geography. The regions of India vary to such an extent with Snow capped ethereal mountains aka the himalayas in the North, vast desert in Northwest, amazing plateaus in the Central region, beautiful sea coasts and tropical backwaters in the far south and mangrove forests in the east. Apart from the geography, India has such a wide variety of wildlife species many of them endangered like Royal Bengal Tigers, Rhinos, Red Panda, Snow Leopard,etc. The country has literally hundreds of different ethnic groups with languages, cultures widely different from each other for example a person of Kashmir looks completely different to a person from Kerala and both of them are again different from a Northeast Indian.Northwest India ( Kashmir- Gulmarg, Pehelgam, Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh- Manali, Shimla, Dharamsala, Rishikesh) Northeast India ( Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, Nagaland) Kerala, Goa, Hampi, Ellora, Madurai, Ooty, Munnar, Doodhsagar. I gurantee you guys Ladakh and Arunachal Pradesh as beautiful as China. Kashmir is as wonderful as Eastern Europe with its mountains. Ladakh will seem as some other wordly place. Look I am just recommending this places to you because these are the true gems which are unexplored by many tourists. They fail to get their true rewards of visting India and gets the worst aka the Golden Triangle of Delhi, Varanasi and Agra which is literally shit. The true diversity and beauty of India lies in its remote regions.

As an Indian, even I have faced such situations multiple times. I end up arguing with the driver almost up to a physical confrontation. Anyway, this is not going to change about India anytime soon. It's gone way too deep now. It's in the blood of an overwhelming majority of Indians. I recommed you use Uber for making auto or bike ride bookings the next time you are here. Love the video - there is no place like Old Delhi, especially the spice market - great job!!! Your advice is right on. I have been to India 25+ times, and lucky to be able to be with local Indian friends and hired guides (former police or military Sikh's so no one plays any games whatsoever!) and it makes all the difference in the world. I find India, the people, its history, its culture, the greatest place to visit. Granted, while you are knee deep in it, it is overwhelming and exhausting (jet lag contributes as well), but I find when I get on the plane and that long journey back, and you have time to reflect what you have just been through and survived, a smile always comes to my face and I say, can't wait to go back!

I find that countries with a high population, they have a dog eat dog world. If you dont cheat, you'll grt left behind and no one but yourself is going to be helpful.

At one time many centuries ago the most coveted prise was India. The Portuguese were looking for it, the Spanish the British and the Dutch. And the Indians they wanted the British to leave but now cant stop having selfies with random white foreigners. My one week in India and I was sick from day 1. Too many people must be very hard to survive.

I have said even if someone offered me a free trip to India I would NEVER go again! As soon as you say anything like this they come on here and attack you but it’s your people that have made many of us feel this way!

Homestly speaking even as an Indian myself, I avoid going to sucj crowded places. They are way to overwhelming and full of food thay will give you the shits. I travelled via a train yesterday and now i have the shits coz of the food i ate. Also, id really suggest taking an auto from apps like uber and ola coz these scammers even scam indians and once i was forced to pay a thousand bucks for a 20 minute ride. When i refused around 5 guys gathered around me and considering it was late at night, i had to pay the sum for my own safety

About tim's incident, The scammer was arrested by the police and fined huge amount of money. People were furious over that incident in sri lanka. Turns out that person is not even the owner. 😑

I wouldn't. I am an Indian and I do loudly say Indians are world class scammers. This is the precise reason many large MNCs don't open offices in India and yet Indians complain about it.

Sometimes you need to experience the chaos, there’s nothing like it. Agree with Ben, get a local guide, worth every cent. I did Bangalore last year, experienced a little chaos but manageable, even on your own. No issues with scamming, hassles or ripoffs in Bangalore but used public transport.

Ben wakes up with a sore throat and cough “Kat and I have chest infections”. Gets me every time 😂

When in India on my last trip I used Uber to get a price for rickshaw trips. It’s amazing how the drivers differ from city to city…in Chennai they try and overcharge, but in Mumbai they were happy to turn on a meter.

India has Uber as well and that hires Auto and Tuk Tuk as well. That’s a safe bet. Now you want to go to old crowded places like old Delhi this is bound to happen. Delhi has metro connectivity to old city where he has taken the auto rickshaw. This man has an agenda to show Places in bad light. Being cautious is always a good thing. Apart from the geography, India has such a wide variety of wildlife species many of them endangered like Royal Bengal Tigers, Rhinos, Red Panda, Snow Leopard,etc. The country has literally hundreds of different ethnic groups with languages, cultures widely different from each other for example a person of Kashmir looks completely different to a person from Kerala and both of them are again different from a Northeast Indian.Northwest India ( Kashmir- Gulmarg, Pehelgam, Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh- Manali, Shimla, Dharamsala, Rishikesh) Northeast India ( Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, Nagaland) Kerala, Goa, Hampi, Ellora, Madurai, Oooty, Munnar, Doodhsagar. I gurantee you guys Ladakh and Arunachal Pradesh as beautiful as China. Kashmir is as wonderful as Eastern Europe with its mountains. Ladakh will seem as some other wordly place. Look I am just recommending this places to you because these are the true gems which are unexplored by many tourists. They fail to get their true rewards of visting India and gets the worst aka the Golden Triangle of Delhi, Varanasi and Agra which is literally shit. The true diversity and beauty of India lies in its remote regions. Stop that.

Delhi is amazing I spent a 2 weeks there last year, only one rickshaw tried to scam me, and I always carried small notes. Try and find one good driver and use the same one all the time much easier. To avoid diarrhoea you have to be Very careful what you eat.
