    Nice to see you did a review of NAM. A lot of well known KZreadrs simply choose to ignore it, because they won't get paid, and they are not interested in supporting a free product.

    Yep thats the gist of it....people have been spending close to 1000 dollars to get every...neural dsp plugin out there just to get a simple variation of the same thing but hey...its the name of their favorite artist attached to it or a youtuber they regularly watch plus probably some cool graphics attached to it as well...its a bit sad cause most of them are not rich and could have bought gear that ll be actually game changing instead of getting basically variations of the same thing repackaged cause the ad man or their favorite youtuber(which is essentially the same thing nowadays) convinced them to.....

    But why worry about what others are doing? Don't worry about it. You can't change things outside your control... You can change things inside your control, like positively spreading information on this revolutionary modeller. We all literally have one life, which is nuts when you think about it. Live life dude, and worry about yourself. You'll be happier! Worked for me. :)

    I downloaded NAM and wanted to hear by myself if the hype is real. I still cannot believe this exist. I downloaded a Mesa Single Rectifier profile pack. Sounds absolutely awesome and feels awesome. The EQ works nicely as well. With just this pack I have found in seconds tones I like. What a beautiful time we guitar players live in.

Everybody always says they just download it and load the sample without any modifications but for me it just doesnt work :(

    We are getting just one or two years away from a $200.00 USD pedal that downloads several formats that a guy can take 3 or 4 amps and a dozen pedals he loves downloaded into that box with sound quality dead equal to the very best of the best meant for a live/travel rig. I expect that to be followed by an industry standard much like MIDI was. It would allow one to have amps, speaker ir and guitar amps download with near zero learning curve. Different companies would make different stomp box interface's with a variety of methods to tweak your sounds with. From full out nerd model to just a bit of simple EQ. If one moved up to something more sophisticated they would just download the patches from their old rig to the new one.

    @@TSFAHTPS The ToneX covers all you actually need. Even if you have a commercial biz making music for the media all but 5% is needed for ones small time clients. Like old style local radio jingles to bring in traffic to a particular biz. I once made industrial infomercials. Things like train box cars used in the trade. Same thing even an SM 57 mic and amp would do. I expect much of any of this is used for a hobbyist. Some people golf once a month with modest golf clubs but bought a $2000 putter. Same thing. It is the same with ambience pedals. Hit one chord and have something going while you try to remember the shape of your next one. :-)

    Yeah it all depends on the captures…I find that after a few downloads I seem to gravitate towards certain people who capture the stuff! The website is pretty good in that you can kinda follow people that create these captures once you find the ones you like

    What is an IR? I don't play guitar but I like amp effects. I'm a bit confused by this video though you seem to be skipping a lot. I guess you can download the amp models from the site that released this plug-in? Or do you get them from elsewhere? Do I need my own "IR's"? Or are they not important? you seem surprised that the one you used came with one

  • @TSFAHTPS

    @TSFAHTPS

    6 ай бұрын

    Ok…so this plugin is a free plugin and if you go to the website I mentioned you can download digital models of amps that people put up there! A lot of these models are of the amp only, without a speaker attached to it - as in they model the sound of the amplifier before it hits the speaker. For it to sound like a proper amp you need a digital version of a speaker…that’s what an IR is (IR stands for Impulse Response) It kinda simulates what a speaker would sound like in a room recorded with certain microphones. The pack I downloaded had a an IR that came with it…and I haven’t seen a lot of that before! I hope that all makes sense??

    I agree. The only problem is using a product such as NAM in a live situation when someone figures out how to use someone like this in a FX unit/pedal format it's pretty much game over for much of the industry. Why would you buy a Helix with substandard amp modelling when you could have this. That is pretty much all I am waiting for now: a modelling unit with built-in NAM functionality and FX. I had high hopes with the HeadRush prime unit saying they wanted to use Plug-ins on the unit but so far nothing has eventuated 😒.

    Have you tried capturing one of your own amps yet? I'm seeing a bassbreaker and a Laney in the back, just saying :) Edit: I really shoulda watched that last second before commenting huh?
