I got into slipstream and new weird fiction only in the last couple of years but what a treasure trove of storytelling and worldbuilding. Mieville, Vandermeer and Ligotti are all writers I wish I'd had access to 15 years ago.

Your readings feel very scholarly in a subdued way that works magnificently with this material. You are officially high on my list of narrators of Weird Fiction.

Thee Landstander Yes. and perhaps strings? I'm surprised there aren't more readings of ye ole puppet maestro Ligotti on you tube.

It's one of his more accessible stories, yet there is so much going on! Ligotti seems to take the idea that "tales lose their terror when too far abstracted" as a challenge, and scares us through four layers of such abstractions. It's a shame genre fiction does not often receive the critical praise it is due.

I liked how your voice grew more and more tense as the story went on. Great build up.

At 2:40 there seems to be a missing line that Ive noticed some readers and translators seem to ignore. Its as follows: "and who will come to know the narrator of the manuscript by the self-admitted alias of “Bartholomew Gray” (they don’t call ‘em like that anymore)" The text between the parenthesis.
