How does nobody know that you don't freaking go straight into medical school... YOU HAVE TO GET YOUR BACHELORS DEGREE FIRST.... So he could go anywhere first, if you know you want to eventually go to med school you could major in Health Science, Biology, or something of the sort, but really you could get your Bachelor's Degree in ANYTHING then still go to med school ... This is in part why becoming a doctor is so grueling, time consuming, and costly... Also, Berkley is actually a reputable and competive university that would probably look good to try to get into medical school which is where you go AFTER you get your undergraduate degree... You never go straight from high school to freakin Med School.... most unreal part of the movie for me

Some schools have programs where you’re technically already accepted to med school when you’re just starting undergrad. My undergrad, Rice University, had a program with Baylor Med. So you do a particular undergrad curriculum, and as long as you keep up the grades, you’re already in. I don’t quite get it though, like I had friends do it, but I don’t recall if they had to do their MCAT or not. I would think they would, they just had to get above a certain score. 🤷‍♀️ But a kid like whatever-the-character’s name was wouldn’t make it into one of those programs, especially if he didn’t really want to anyway.

  • @MegCazalet

He’s gotta be dressed as Ferris for Halloween. The movie didn’t do a great job of making that clear, especially when he rags on the girl lead for not wearing a costume. If you don’t catch the Ferris Bueller reference, it looks like he’s not in a costume either. And these days, I wouldn’t assume your mostly very young audience is going to even have seen Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, let alone notice a reference like that. Maybe in the movie he actually explains his costume, but that would also be dumb.

Not a bad idea to split the movie up into parts based on the title but what I’d do is show it all In reverse. The movie Bandits did this very well. I’d start off showing the Goodbye parts first that way the audience has no idea what’s happening and why. Then I’d show the Everything In Between and then the audience would start to understand and then end the movie with the Hello part it be a cool way to show the relationship. We always see the good stuff first then the bad towards the end and it either ends badly or a happy ending. Why not show the bad then end the movie before all the bad starts it’s a cool twist like Bandits shows the bad first then went backwards and explained how it all happened.

This is a great example of how different writing a book and writing a movie is. Almost every scene in this movie would be improved if the script had more dialogue so we could better understand how the main characters think and what they are like. The actors aren’t doing the movie much favor either, both the main leads are completely incompetent in their roles and look like they want to be literally anywhere else but there which is very unprofessional.

Oh my God if the god-damned tricky-door- kick-to-open trope doesn't have an entry on tvtropes it needs one. I'm sick of that crap. It's LAZY comedy.

So like I pause the video before the whole farting discussion reveal... and look at a meme way before this about farting.. and then reveal seemingly few seconds after I resume the video the farting thing... that was really weird to experience. It's like my subconscious picked up on it way before that was revealed in the video

I looked it up and the intro song is Mover Awayer which is genuinely one of my favourite songs of all time. I think it's quite a beautiful song to use in a "romantic movie". I genuinely don't understand what people have against Hobo Johnson. I know he's really polarising but I can't understand what there is not to like. His music is beautiful to me and I find profound, personal meaning in a lot of his songs.

I'm gonna ignore Andy King's little comment about The Hobo Johnson song being out of place and not sitting right with him. The reason I'm going to ignore his comment is because I love Hobo Johnson, and I forgot about him as an artist and hold Andy brought it up today. And so I'm thanking you Andy, because I'm definitely gonna be listening to his music toda

LOL at the idea of an author pitching their own IP for a movie. Maybe if they are trying to get into WGA and get some of that sweet sweet healthcare by writing the scripts themselves. Most of the time their agent or (a special agent at their agency) would the selling off the additional right after the publication, for translation or film or TV.
