Netflix Defamation Lawsuit Thrown Out
This week, courts have sided with Netflix in a defamation lawsuit after a movie painted him in a bad light. A diving destination is in hot water for holding onto divers deposits and blanking them stating that they are closed for business even though their website says otherwise and the great barrier reef has just experienced it’s worst coral bleaching heatwave in history that some are describing as an underwater bushfire.

The judge found/felt "no reasonable viewer would find that the film portrayed Pipin". Except for most people who were aware of the death of Audrey Mestre who also think he probably were responsible for her death. 🤨 I'm sure Pipin/his lawyer were hoping they would get past this stage and then for Netflix to settle. I'm not sure he would had wanted a trial with defenses of truth / reasonable beliefs if it had ever got that far as it's not impossible that he could lose such a trial. (Of course he could also win, clear his name, get compensation etc.) That's the danger with defamation lawsuit, you could win, but you could also lose with the court essentially saying the accusation is true. Think he may be playing with fire with the lawsuit here.
I stumbled on No Limit a few months ago - I just thought it was a bad remake of The Big Blue. Freediving is the most magical way to experience the ocean. Competitive freediving twists it into something ugly.
