The Nespresso machine that I own, doesn't have a long and short button, it has a red button (on/off) and one green button. How do you program long and short espresso shots?

How many ounces is standard espresso? Since no one is answering how to program, maybe it’s best to just measure out the amount needed for a single shot. 40 ml?
