@LuvvyDuck Erm....no admittedly. I got a pack of vintage sodas and 3 bottles of nesbit's orange were in it. It's really good. I forget what the pack was called, but i know it was sold in costco.

One of my favorite "Commercial" memories . . . . a delightfully funny, weird and wonderful alternative to the mostly bleak ocean of horribly boring, insulting, loud and overly "Commercial" commercials that fill the screen more than ever now and have assaulted the senses and intelligence of many for decades! I still laugh and can remember the words to this quirky and fun, animated goodie . . . Was a breath of fresh air then and still brings a smile to my face now!

this was one of my favorite commercials when I was a kid! I was amazed when I first saw it on here! where did you find it? does anyone know if they still make nesbitt's orange? at the very least I wouldn't mind collecting one of their old bottles. thank you for this colorful piece of commercial nostalgia! It does look a lot like art from zap comix. did they have anything to do with it? thanks again!

Not only was the commercial great, their orange soda was the best ever. When I went to the fridge, it was always a toss-up between Nesbitt's orange and grape Nehi.

I guess you can't get this east of the Mississippi river though. I was in Missouri then, Ohio now... People here have never heard of it. "Nesbitt's Orange... Soda... >Pop!< Dumb...!"

I wonder if there is any place online where you can find the Nesbitt's Orange radio commercials, especially the one where the grouchy boss is auditioning musicians for a radio spot where the final auditor is "a box of five thousand singing fleas". Hilarious!

Very trippy, and very crumb-esque! I don't think Robert Crumb would have made this commercial. he's like me in thinking that corporations and commercials that hawk their products are evil! or maybe not, I dunno! This is a very cool commercial though! where in the world did you find it?

No, he didn't get ripped off. He got paid $50,000 for the use of the character. That was a damn lot of money in 1972, almost $300,000 by today's value. That is NOT "getting ripped off", by any stretch of the imagination. He wasn't satisfied with the finished product, however, and when they made a sequel, that's when he had had enough, and killed the character. Harvey Pekar had an interesting, pragmatic take on the subject. See "Ozzie Nelson's Open Letter to Robert Crumb" for more info.
