    @@simpleperson98 that does not affect the final score, but affects the pseudo-random number generator because during the extra frames when the game is paused, the value is changed a couple more times compared to the game without pausing. Basically it affects the piece sequence I got during the game, but since I score only tetrises, the final result does not depend on it.

    You are right, this is the highest score without pressing down. It is hard to calculate theoretical maximal possible score with pressing down because it depends on height of your stack and it is even harder to arrange such a game. Unachievable theoretical maximum with pressing down is around 6000 higher, but this is impossible because you can get it only if you drop all pieces to the ground with zero stack. I guess it could be possible to get extra 2000-3000 points

  • @batmanrobinson7882

    @batmanrobinson7882

    5 жыл бұрын

    I wrote a short program to calculate maximal possible score given a number of lines, and from what I got, if you start at level 19, maximum you can get without pressing down in 270 lines is 1895700. Since 270 is not a multiple of 4, to get this score you need to make one double so that you get exactly 270 lines, it's optimal to do it at level 20.

    I don't think it's very likely to happen in a game with random pieces without manipulating RNG. There is a guy called Scottobozo, he made a TAS run, memorized it and manually followed it on a real NES, I believe it's as good as it realistically gets (unless there is a guy somewhere specifically grinding perfect score in a random game)

  • @Chizypuff

    @Chizypuff

    5 жыл бұрын

    No, it ends because level 29 is the theoretical end for a human player as humans can't move the blocks fast enough. One "Joseph" however has gotten to lvl 33. Lvl 29 is still know as the kill screen and competitors are only expected to maybe get a few points there, if any

  • @AndrewBlechinger

    @AndrewBlechinger

    5 жыл бұрын

    Rather, for a long time level 29 was considered impossible to move past because at that point the blocks fall at a rate of 1 tile per frame. Some players have broken through to level 30 and beyond, but 29 is still considered a "kill screen" because that's when the drop speed maxes out.

    How does the tool assisted aspect of this work? I know the pieces aren’t truly random but do you just nix the droughts? Or do the pieces drop in an order you predetermine, etc?

    The random generator works as it should, I used a tool just to move pieces at the maximal possible speed by specifying inputs frame by frame.
