This takes me back. I think the best I did was level 4. When playing this, the biggest challenge is not knowing what’s next, you get hesitant as you play a level for the first time and the frequency of revisiting the later levels to practise them is unheard of. Nice to see that they made it a challenge to last and make it memorable in the long term.

It’s crazy how back in the day cartridge space was so small that they had to increase the difficulty to such high extents so we didn’t instantly beat this game. Due to the great graphics, there were few levels! Just to think way later, went spent $30 on a game we could beat in a few minutes! Man, the gaming scene sure has improved. Not by the games, they are just as good, but graphics and storage space how increased so now we can have games have great graphics without being painstakingly hard!

I remember that, after my brother and I had figured out how to beat the game quickly that we started to keep track of our final times and try to one-up each other. (An earlier emergent form of speed running? Maybe. (Given modern times ours were pretty bad, but I still dig that we had done that. (same goes for Zelda, etc.) Cheers, and, great vid! Commodore, with the Vic-20, ‘64 and Amiga, were at the precipice of owning the PC market. The family must still be kicking themselves. They decided to take on Atari in game console market. They left a huge nugget for others to parlay.

Back then this would be the first title id speedrun, as it was the basis of the game. Do it faster, get more points. And now players across the internet do the same. Couple/Few notes….. 1: Black marble can be cracked for pts if pushed near the edge, which I always wait for it to come to me and kind of cross upwards to make it side hit into the edge. 2: That level that starts like a person, you can squeeze into the corners over to the other side of you wanted to, I just find that path easier. 3: The level with tiny enemies I believe you can just roll over and crush them, I forget if there’s any extra time, maybe pts for it as with the black marble cracking.
