Nervous Amazon Driver Has Wholesome Conversation With Dog

Ойын-сауық

SUBSCRIBE NOW: bit.ly/2uwI2ZJ
A doorbell cam captured the wholesome moment an Amazon delivery driver wary of a dog sitting on the porch overcame his fear and approached the pooch for a cute conversation. In the sweet video, captured in Kansas City, Missouri, the driver, Eric, is seen approaching eight-year-old Grace, a rescued pitbull mix, who was waiting on her porch. Initially apprehensive over the dog, Eric says, "Hi, pretty," and then asks, "Are you friendly?" He then proclaims, "I feel like you're not…" before slowly approaching the house. As he does so, Eric notice Grace is, in fact, more than happy to make friends with him, so he introduces himself with "Hi, I'm Eric" before placing the package down and letting a waggy tailed Grace say hello. Grace's owner Ashley Gore, 38, was in the back yard when the moment took place and later discovered the wholesome video on her Ring camera, which she shared with friends and family on social media.

I don't like hearing "Have a wonderful day." because now-a-days everyone retorts the same sheep statement. Something more creative would be better. I've replied back, "Naaah, I've had 130 wonderful days in a row, it's time for a different kind of day." People often don't know how to react to that. It breaks their programming. However, good vibrational energy towards dogs will get good results.

Um,. a wagging tail is not always done in a friendly way. I used to have to go to peoples houses to measure their floors for floor covering and when there is a dog like the one on that porch, trust me, it can be disconcerting. The dog the owner says, "oh he just barks and he never bites" and took a chunk out of my installers leg. If you have never had to do what that driver is doing, don't judge. He did the right thing and luckily the dog WAS a marshmallow and didn't come charging off the porch at him.

If the dog felt ill at ease or felt threatened by the driver for not first making friendly contact and then attacked or threatened the driver, that would have totally been the owners fault. Actually the driver would have been within his rights to just leave the package on the lawn and leave, because he has better things to do, and too many irresponsible dog owners think it's somehow other people's responsibility to tip toe carefully around their dog in public or right of way areas, and take no accountability if the dog attacks something without provocation. He did the absolute right things to show the dog that he was okay. First, he spoke to the dog in a nice mid-range voice, not acting dominate or submissive. Then when he put the package down the first time, he read the dog's body lanuage, which said that the dog was curious. Then he bent down and asked the dog to sniff his hands, letting the dog know that he was a good person. So, of course the dog would wag it's tail. Eric, you da man!!!

I had a beautiful golden retriever mix who was the most laid back of all dogs,,..one night a man came saying he wanted to look at our house for sale. I was alone, and made a bad judgement and allowed him in. My dog did something I never saw her do,…she got in front of him, and started growling…a low growl that startled me. He became anxious and told me something was wrong with my dog as he hurried out the door! I will always believe my dog saved me from being hurt! When I saw how this dog reacted to the guy it reminded me of my story, and when I saw the two of them together being friendly I knew both dog, and man were great! Loved it! ❤

Same thing happened with a cat my family once had. Yes, a cat. She was a Siamese, and if you know anything about the breed, they are almost dog-like. Very people-friendly. She would climb onto the laps of people who swore they weren’t cat-people and made herself at home. One day, she attacked a visiting friend for no apparent reason. Twice. Weeks later, said friend was in the psychiatric ward at the hospital with a schizophrenia diagnosis. Not necessarily “dangerous,” but the cat knew something was seriously wrong.

@@jadecoolness101 Hi, Let me explain. I don't think that it is, in general terms, good to leave a dog outside alone. I don't think that a dog should be chained. I do think a fenced yard is safer for the dog. But, looking at this situation ONLY, everything worked out for the best. This dog is obviously well-fed, well-loved, and well cared for. It is only my opinion, based on things I have seen for years, that suggest to have supervision of a pet outside, in a fenced area and that the dog be trained. Some dogs, not all nor this dog, view a fence or a chained area as their territory. And many dogs will guard their territory. This encounter could not have been better. The dog was friendly and the Amazon delievery man knew how to create and deal with a dog. I only am sharing my opinions based on my dogs and my experiences. I hope that expains things. If not, I will definately try bettter.

What a smart guy. When he began speaking to and approaching the dog, the dog was doing its own "due dilligence." I have no doubt if the guy didn't pass the "smell test," the dog would have behaved quite differently.

@@golden.lights.twinkle2329 The dog is on a leash. it's rather light weight I'm sure just to keep this nice dog from wandering. But it still has range to get to the delivery guy if it so chooses. The guy who approached an unattended strange dog lucked out this time. I'm sure it's great when delivery guys frequent an address enough to know the animals, but that was obviously not the case here.
