i knew a guy that worked at a dodge dealer back in 04, and he "borrowed" an SRT4 after work one night and gave me a ride in it. 17yr old me was highly impressed. We did a few 0-130mph pulls, it was cold out so the car was fighting for traction all thru 1st, 2nd, and part of 3rd gear. Looking back now, Im pretty sure it was a customer car in for its first service.....

@@joshAKAtheman same here, i do all my own work except alignments. But, even that has bitten me in the ass. Took a fresh turbo build to get aligned, had a tuning appointment later that day. I get a call from the alignment shop saying my car had to be towed in from their (unapproved) test drive, and that it quit running and wont start. They blew it up. Took them to court over it, and somehow didnt get a cent from them.

Back in their prime, these cars struck fear in the hearts of Camaro and Mustang owners every day.

Yeah thats incredibly low. Mine had 79000 on it when I bought it. It has like 90000 on it now. Ive seen them with 50 thousand and lower. Never for sale tho lol. Lowest I've ever seen for sale was probably 70000 or so. I got mine for 3600 because it has rust. Shit, I'll take it lol.

@@marioalvarez9143 It didn't actually come from the factory, but they were dealer installed stage kits. IIRC they voided your warranty, but with dealership discretion they could continue to offer it if they chose. I've heard of stage 3's being bought from the showroom floor with warranty intact.

So it's stock but a stage 3, yep makes sense.

It's not designed to be a high revving engine. Peak torque comes on around 2200 rpm with the stock turbo. Iirc the highest most people would set the limiter was 6700 rpm.

Long stroke pig motors. Torquey and streetable as hell tho. I've seen a PFI Speed vid where they swapped in 2.0L neon rods, de-stroking the 2.4L to a 2.2L, then revved it over 8k. Made 800hp+. Sounded nasty at that range, too.
