Look on the bright side. The "bad guys" care enough about humans and programs to try to put them in nurturing environments where they have room to grow. Do the heroes remain forever unaware? The machines seem to allow Neo and Trinity to ascend as high as their own willpower drives them. Thank goodness these higher powers of our own creation are so benevolent.

They aren’t really bad tho. AI can delete humanity completely. ☕️😔 AI doesn’t need life by any means. It wants to understand something it is not, and make a symbiotic relationship between them. Growth. Biomechanics speaks pretty loudly in this movie, as they grow plants. AI is growing life, and playing god, which is a very human characteristic. Solipsism and such. And yes, Neo is just enjoying Cypher’s steak now. Real or not matters none, as long as it is enjoyable and seems very important. WallE and Matrix said the same thing, robots understand the importance of humans balancing their global lifestyle with nature they depend on, for survival, more than humans do. Because if you blacken the skies, you will need AI to survive. Or just leave our home. Earth.

Reincarnation

The recreation of Morpheus through modals at the beginning of the movie was actually foreshadowing what was happening to Neo and Trinity. The way Neo appeared different to the audience but familiar at the same time, was just one example of how their appearances changed throughout the film as they went through different phases of awakening. Neo's transformation went through many phases, and eventually, he ended up looking quite similar to how he would have looked if he had survived with an eye patch covering his un-repaired eye, as shown in the cutscene where the analyst explains their resurrection. As viewers, we can see Neo's true representation despite his changing appearance, while others cannot. However, Neo lacked confidence, which was a noticeable difference. It is possible that Neo's previous attempts at awakening represent the previous Ones who came before him but lacked the special quality that made Neo unique.

Actually, Trinity was injured way before Neo reached Deus Ex Maxhina so it is quite possible that she has been taken by the machines before it was too late and survived.

I'd bet on the machines already having copies, waybefore that. Consider this. Neo was not fully activated until After she kissed him, after the "death." She was the activation code, to the download. As was Morpheus, mainly his capture. This cycle wasn't a cycle. It was another test. The most successful at that point. They are "freed", so the test can be continued, to aee if they produce more energy, as a connected pair.

Yeah that was fully explained in the first two matrix’s. If you followed along you would see neo has been around many times. Meaning that each time “the one” got out of the matrix and restarted Zion then the one would rise again… they never said a clone but you can do the science

Yeah and this is also exactly why the one has never been an exact person either. It’s actually a title given to the person’s who just simply able to clear their mind fully of doubt. Agent smith is originally even coded after the one, hence his abilities. But it wasn’t until matrix 4, where his program gained the full awareness of the one by neo sharing his consciousness. The last movie shows very heavily that anyone can possess the powers of the one, they just have to endow themselves with hope against all odds. Trinity is actually far more powerful then neo and she only first just unlocks her abilities at the end of 4. And that’s why neo made the slick comment that she learned fast. The monologue about awakening the rest of the world, is about them continuing to free other’s mind. Thus giving them ascension as well.

​@@johnkyl123 Correct The One is not restricted to just One Person but all that can connect into that mental state, which is why Trinity or a Woman can learn it faster, because woman in reality can breakthrough alot easier and faster than men. It is a connection in the heart that they only have.

So then John Wick was just one of the earlier sims of Neo, before the machines realized they needed Trinity to unlock him as the anomaly. Instead they focused on Morpheus (the Bowery King) and thought putting Neo in similar fighting situations would work. That’s why there’s so many throwback lines to Matrix in Wick, it’s Neo having déjà Vue as Wick and saying “guns, lots of guns”. The Keymaker program made its way into the Wick sim as The Doctor.

Its interesting to see how many people overlooked this film so quickly, to me it represents whats happening to today. From all the manipulation, to how the populace have been turned into zombie like foot soldiers completely attached to their devices. Even the ending... someone else has defined Neo and Trinitys boundaries, just like our everyday lives.

That is basically what happen in The Matrix Online, without Trinity, Neo body die, but his consciousness was sparse all over the Matrix, one of the quest was to joins all the parts to be storage in the Zion archives.

Since neo became the one in the first movie, so many people were freed that they needed to come up with a new way to supply their own power, thus , the analyst and his great idea of letting everyone still plugged live out their fictional beliefs about the world as their own reality which is reinforced by their own emotional attachments to that reality

I personally thought it was pretty clear in the movie that Neo and Trinity weren't the 'original' versions of themselves, but rather clones/copies/reproductions

That could have been a cool part of a sequel to Resurrection but I don't think that is going to be a thing until the IP gets close to running out again.

I was going to see "Resurrections" in the theatres the week it came out, but deciding not to the day I had planned. I only wish I had seen this video beforehand, because I'm once again excited to see this. It is the first time I let bad reviews affect my judgement. Normally I don't. I like to assess things on my own, but I should have known not to trust people's opinion about a movie so complex they have no fucking clue what's been going on. Great video! You guys were basically my favorite TV show for at least an entire summer. I can't get enough of the Matrix mythology. I should probably go to my local comic book store (we have one!) and start reading the comics (another thing this channel has hipped me to).

You take that directly from The Matrix wiki, but you didn't pay attention to the movie, the Analyst says that he needed Neo source code, but it couldn't be activated without Trinity, the Matrix generate more energy as the Analyst own words: "More we oppress you, more energy you generate."

Unfortunately this did not come across in the most recent movie. But I'm confident that the main theme is ambiguous on purpose. The concept that any character could be a clone and any instance of the matrix that we see could just be a clone of another matrix. It doesn't matter if Trinity and neo die, are clones, or are erased from The matrix. In the end the cycle continues.

There is going to be someone who becomes the “one” or in real life, “realizes God.” The twin flame concept will also continue to exist for a couple. The concept is the idea that “God” or “the conscious force of the universe” or “the matrix” split itself into two within its own reality and those two beings will continue to reincarnate within this world until they find union within themselves that will physically manifest as what trinity and neo became at the end the Matrix 4. There’s many iterations of this idea in media. The closest one to matrix 4 is the movie called The Adjustment Bureau

When you think about it, they could be clones of clones. There are many different simulations the analyst put them through which means he changed something each time and probably compounded from the change instead of using the original code each time. Therefore they could be clones of clones, a complete dilution of the originals but with the same underlying code.

actually Neo can be a clone and yet the same character at the same time cause if smith can take over a human neo can also do it if you think about it by leaving his body to the matrix then taking over the new clone vessel that was empty after it was grown to a certain point after all Neo is the one it also explains why he is still the one yet Trinity became the one cause she was made from Neo's memory's and not the old trinity that's how she got his power the code for Neo's powers got copied by accident

Think of them as extremely efficient software, they allow the matrix to run at higher speeds, there for saving energy bills.

This makes total sense... with how detached they acted in the movie.. how Neo didn't use "powers" in the same way.. I'm onboard.. and it's exciting because it means that they have to rise above this hurdle as well.. but who knows if we'll get that movie or not. Great work!

"As long as I kept you close, but not TOO close." I'm guessing the Wachowskis were planning on Neo and Trinity merging into one being at some point, ala Dragonball Z.

Their bodies being recreated kind of explores the Ship of Theseus thought experiment. If you replace every part of Neo and Trinity with a cloned part, at what point do they stop being Neo and Trinity?

The first thing I thought when I heard about Matrix 4, was "they died at the end of the last movie"

This would be a very Matrix to Reloaded transition. That honestly feels quite fitting considering how similar Resurrections feels to the original. Reloaded and revolutions pointed to the larger power structures and systems of control in place. And if we think of Resurrections about being about our modern societal problems... I think we can all tell that the systems of control go very deep. We never even encountered "The Suits" in this movie.

So, what happened to Agent Smith at the end? After shooting The Analyst, he was genuinely surprised on changing form.

@Antonio Perez just watched it. In code terms, this is how I see it: Neo destroyed Smith. Smith's class changed, and now utilizes an interface that Neo's class does. So every subsequent instance of Smith has this "upgrade" attached. As for whether the new Smith is the same or not, as long as they access the same memory they're essentially the same, just with the new abilities. This is also why no matter how many Smith's there were simultaneously fighting Neo, they essentially were all the same, even though there were many selves, or instances. If I wake up tomorrow and learn a new skillset, am I not my same self as the day before? Would dying and coming back with a previously unknown skillset be different?

As it said “In the same way that the best lies have an element of truth, maybe evil is made all the more powerful when it is accompanied by the startling presence of grace.” The former architect never bothered himself to get personal with humans. Architect always kept distance behind rigged hidden walls and doors and observed them from far away (Maybe he was afraid of getting contaminated by their "inflections" too!), but unlike him the analyst is an experimentalist with strong desires to get involved and peruse a "hands-on" approach. So it might actually be the case that entire unfold of the Resurrections is one of his tests! he likes tests after all. And maybe when he said "The world doesn't end when you do" It's him revealing one of those elements of truth.

It's goofy how much more entertaining this channel is compared to the last three films.

I'm finally watching this movie as of today!!! Thank you for your work!

This theory is already on resident evil where Alice have multiple lifes with some patches memories of a dog, a red biclicle & some kids. At the end were just patched blurry memories of the cloning facility projects, to make all Alices forget how they've been created & purpose. I think they just throw out there these multiple/possible versions of them, create the new binary anomaly (hence power of two). As the "Arch" didn't care about humans (human behavior) the "Therapist" found a new way of harvesting energy based on the "false" fear of losing something that never happened at all.

That comment by the analyst about his skin makes sense. They been hiding him and resetting him every time he awakens.

There were many ONES before him, all clones, as shown in the Trilogy in the screens of the Architect.

@@damnyourpasswords Because they are in the Matrix, the architect would have no problem creating anything on the fly, those were all the predicted reactions of Neos avatar ( virtual residual self ) not recordings, which is why they are wearing the same clothes he is.

The analyst won & lost. He’s still in the process of trying to figure out what makes the anomaly exactly what it is & how it operates through Neo & Trinity. And, to add, if Neo & Trinity were clones, still because of who & what they are, their innate characters /soul’s, beings, would obey their true nature & theirs “ONLY”, (THEY’VE NEVER ACTED OUT OF CHARACTER) an example “CYPHER”, & also the codes & forces surrounding the two of them, thus they would only increase in being true to who & what they are. This is where BOTS come into play, or rather interference 👍 Because of Bots, I cannot say completely that Neo & Trinity are clones, but rather Cyborgs. And here’s the anomaly. Have you ever used a firewall on your laptop & wanted to allow a download, but the firewall prevented you? You kept getting denied until you disabled the firewall. But once the download is complete & the firewall is back up. It runs & dose the same thing’s as before only you completed a download. The computer has an extra download but it remembers all of its facet’s. All of its pieces. Neo & Trinity can be made over & over, but the part of being cyborg would never allow total annihilation of the fundamentals of who or what character it is. The analyst, the machines, the machine gods would all be out of a job if the living human parts of this couple were to ever be totally destroyed. Discovering how the anomaly operates is like trying to figure out if there is life on another planet to them. The mystery outweighs anything else. So I will say that Neo & Trinity died but not really but rather transcended, & possibly transcended into a golden spiritual cyborg yellow light? I’ve always wondered what that yellow light / code was around machine city 🌆

@@SagaciousNihilist It's never stated but it is clearly shown in the monitors that previous "One's" at least in those previous 5 iterations looked identical to Neo-6 by the point Architect informs him of this. What happens after that is up to conjecture(For instance they could become integrated/changed in appearence to other programs like Merovingian and Oracle's protector etc.)

I think so and I just discovered the comics very recently. The story can go multitude of directions. I even wrote a spec script, and when I learn of the new one, I was looking forward to see, if it would be better then my ideal.

If he's a clone then how could his code be the original source code? Also the analyst said rebuild. Not built from Scratch. That would them the original couple just biologically altered. Sort of like Raiden in Metal Gear Solid 4 when his body was enhanced by Dr. Madnar. Interesting clone theory though id have to disagree here.

When Neo sacrificed himself in 3 his code went to every Smith hence every person connected to the Matrix. That is why the Analyst had to rebuild Neo's code. Probably at the same time the machines learned Smiths trick of downloading his consciousness into the meat space. Clone body + rebuilt code = Neo 2.0. The broken part of it all is Trinity. They could clone the body but she had probably been dead too long to get an exact copy of her consciousness. The Trinity that awakens in 4 is likely a projection created by Neo's subconscious, which could explain how she has part of Neo's powerset.

At this point the writers are just making up stuff now. Anything beyond part 3 makes absolutely no sense.

You pose a lot of convincing arguments when you compare the original Matrix trilogy and the Matrix Resurrections. I even liked the Schroeder's Cat reference. I loved the Analyst's black cat named Deja Vu. Or maybe that's my obsession with black cats.

It said on behind scenes 4K they r more machine then human now due to age. That could be an answer since fairly vague 🙌🎥🙌

It makes sense that they might be clones. I didn't expect too much from this movie before I saw it, I just wanted to see Neo being Neo again but I was extremely dissapointed. He was definitely not himself.

The anomaly in the matrix always happen, Neo is an inevitabilty. However, if you reconstruct the original anomaly, you will know from the beggining where it is! In this case. Neo. Then the machines realize that Trinity multiplies the energy output. The surplus is what makes it work

It’s like Morpheus said what Morpheus said about living in the computer-generated dreamworld actually applies to what we thought was the real world inside the matrix. The question that remains is are people still jacked into the matrix in the real world and are we ever going to see what the real world in the matrix simulation looks like? It took me about 10 years to realize that the levels of the simulations of the matrix are multiple, and that is similar to what you see in many of the other movies or books across many genres!

Idk how much I agree because. Their brains are still theirs. And when they awoke. They (at least Neo) remembered everything from what happened when they were in the “real” world. But because they were re-uploaded to the matrix first. The analyst was able to intercept the thoughts first. Which was why neo had to be on blue pills.
