@@ricdale7813 Yes, and it's a bit strange that virtually the only weakness in this song, was that Saki did not complete the backend, of Adrian solo, but simplified it, and I don't know why because she is such an accomplished guitarist. However, Hazuki replicated dave solo note perfect, which is a little easier than Adrians solo, on this song, but also did the "harmonic whammy, without looking at the guitar, during her vocal harmonising, which is commonly done by Adrian in songs. Saki was not harmonising, was not doing anything, except rhythm guitar, so could have done tha more easily.Perhaps was just trying to chill out during the song or something 🤣 For some reason, it seemed like Saki gave all the hard guitar work to Hazuki in this song, playing parts of both Dave and Adrian's work. Also, when they covered the trooper, again Hazuki was covering Dave's solo, which she replicated note perfect and is particularly impressive because that is a difficult solo and is far more difficult than Adrian's solo on that particular song. Maybe Hazuki is better at the legato style, which is predominantly what Dave produceso

Nemophila also covered Maiden's *The Trooper.* Nemophila did *The Trooper* way before they did *Aces High.* Both of these songs were probably recorded during the early days of the pandemic. *Ace's High* was recorded around the same time Nemophila covered Motley Crew's *Shout at the Devil" video. It's the same band room.

Hazuki does a fair amount of backing vocals for Nemophila, but from what I've seen, she rarely does them by herself. She was recently featured in a video over on Lisa-X's channel where the two of them and a singer named Kotono covered "ABC" by Polyphia. Hazuki and Lisa-X do backing vocals and it's adorable.

Great reaction! You have excellent insight into how and why a mix works. A little note on pronunciation (that wouldn't be at all obvious, so don't sweat it!): "Hazuki" is pronounced "haz'ki." The muddle syllable doesn't get pronounced. Moreover, Japanese doesn't use stress accent, so even if it was pronounced, it wouldn't be "haZUki."

Haraguchi-san wrote 2 of their songs. "Style" and "Hypnosis". They were doing 1 cover a week during covid. Sometimes they shot the video separately. Plus they were working on their own stuff. Straight covers. Except the "Banana Song". They rearranged that. I believe the covers were made to farm an identified and targeted audience. A fan base that would spend money. And I'm not being cynical. I pay.

The start of this cover is a bit fun. They start sounding so insecure. It did not sound like they would kill this one. And, then when they actually was going to start, then Haraguchi-san and Tamu had problems syncing. They looked at each other and started laughing. Then it went off by Tamu starting and the rest of the band following. And then they DID just kill it. I have no idea what happened in the beginning, but I find it fun that they left it there and did not try to start again. This is the kind of thing secure people do. They did not care that they messed up in the beginning. Let the world see it.

true, but then NicKo in Iron Maiden had exactly the same transition. His father was in a jazz band and Nicko started out for several years as a jazz drummer. In many Iron Maiden songs, there are a lot of drumming fills, that you will not notice, if you are not a drummer, which make them more complicated than it seems to the non-technical.Many people will listen to fast drumming, as if it's the most difficult. But nothing could be further from the truth. One thing is for sure, she is absolutely loving this performance, not only because of the fast pace, but because it's a drum and bass led song, with mainly drumming switch ups e.g. focus on the drumming sections and you will notice that literally every other instrument is dependent on the starts and finishes of the different drum sequences, particularly at the end, watch her face after finishing the last note of the song and notice that all the other band members, at the end are pissing themselves laughing, at how much physicality she has put into the performance, with her hair going everywhere

Funny you talk about something from Iron Maiden how they have the dueling solos in every song. Same could be said about Nemophila. Trade off Solos and dueling and harmonizing between Saki and Hazuki in most of their songs. Those two play off each other so well. I know you heard it in Adabana. But they do it a lot. well, most of the Japanese metal scene, is pretty much grounded in the NWOBMH, and especially maiden and priest, in terms of the musical structure of bass driven, twin guitar feed offs, and operatic vocals, with fantastical themes, e.g. lovebites, bandmaid and Nemo Obviously, with their classical training, these artists are looking to take it to the next level and feed off this basic structure into different genres, e.g. various niches within hard rock , and power, and thrash metal

Nemo's rendition of the trooper has about 3 times more views than any individual lovebites video. If lovebites had released it back when they started, I'm sure they would be getting those kind of views all the videos and would have got a market in the usa, which they don't have now. @@TheCyberMantis I disagree and so do most people, according to comments on threads. But I won't diss Asami because I think she's great, aswell. What I said is an objective fact, that Mayu, is far more versatile, but it remains to be seen whether she can operate in the higher registers, as consistently as Asami can. Mayu operates brilliantly at the lower registers and also has a better control of "rasp", in her voice than any Female singer I have ever heard and seen. Asami, has shown more weakness, at lower registers As for comparing the bands,I would have thought that lovebites are more popular currently, in both Japan and Europe, as they have toured twice or more, but they didn't break into the American market at all, which has been confirmed, and kind of lamented, in the last interview by Miho, whereas Nemo have. Basically Nemo have made a lot of ground on them, despite having existed 1/3 of the time. This is almost exclusively through their marketing decisions, in the way I described above, which loveBites Marketing team, should have had the sense to portray their brilliant musicians in the same way. I would'nt be surprised if that's part of the reason why Miho has left, because she was so clever in the way she structured the band throughout her time as the de facto leader of musical direction, but having done that, the team they couldn't even make the most obvious good marketing decisions e.g. make your potential market aware of your presence,, before releasing original material Hopefully both bands will because break the American market as well and go on to glory, because they both deserve it as their talent is off the charts

Mayu to replace Bruce Bruce in Iron Maiden? 🤔🤪 First saw Tamu with Shiena Nishizawa as a couple friends in the studio performing a cover of Sim 'Killing Me.' After seeing her perform X-Japan covers with Toshi (X-Japan lead singer) I saw Nemophila. The first cover was Iron Maiden 'The Trooper ' which is the first video they published to KZread in Feb 2020. Several other covers later saw 'Aces High' in 2021. Then they started to release their own music with 'Oiran,' 'Raitei' in 2020 and others. They were so impressive and they continue to impress. Cover of Journey's 'Separate Way (World's Apart)' is Remarkablee, too. My favorite covers they did were Kiss 'Detroit Rock City' and 'The Banana Song.' Nemophila formed in Tokyo 2019. Mayu - Vocals Saki - Guitar (Mary's Blood) Hazuki - Guitar Haraguchi-san - Bass (your pronunciation was spot on) Tamu Murata - Drums I loved this.

Don't mean to be disrespectful, but they could probably do with Mayu and Tamu, because the latest performances, by Bruce have shown that his voice is struggling with some of the old material and Nicko in his seventies, probably cannot replicate some of the old catalogue It will be very interesting, in the upcoming tour, which songs they choose, as they are, including the "somewhere in Time" album, for the 1st time, since 1986, as part of their set list. That albums songs are the most complex and difficult to replicate, in their catalogue, and they are choosing to do this when they are in their late sixties and early seventies, seems so ridicullous. I for one don't think that they will be including "caught somewhere in time", as well as "loneliness of the long-distance runner", and Alexander the great, because the drumming on those 3, back to back, would probably kill NicKo
