I’ll give Peltz credit, he turned an L into a win by actually making money for his clients.

And that money probably came from Iger (via Disney) propping up the stock price for a while so that Iger would look a bit better during the proxy battle. Way to go for Peltz playing the game, it's a win-win for him.

Speaking of Peltz playing 3D-chess... and winning... against a certain dufus... (whose initials are BI or RI) Here's another 3D-chess scenario... theory... What if the institutional investors, like BR, VG, and SS... are really in this for the LONG haul? What if they bought a lot of stock using their own customers' money... which IS exactly what they did... So that they could get control... which they WILL have whenever they want it... Then, when the previously mentioned dufus drives it into the ground (which is the reason they did NOT want Peltz)... They can then use their OWN money to buy it very low... then bring in someone to turn it around... Hey... it's just an idea...

It's like someone slowly poisoning themselves with tobacco or alcohol, while calling all non-smokers and non-alcoholics "bigots" for not supporting their destructive lifestyle. Peltz was their last hope to save Disney, but they're beyond redemption, now. And frankly, I still haven't forgotten about their meddling in Florida's laws (and I don't even live in that state) and proudly pushing LGBT propaganda to children in movies like Lightyear and Strange World (and I'm not even a parent or anti-LGBT, per se.) Disney is full of too many "men in white vans with candy" for me to feel anything but schadenfreude at their inevitable demise, and I for one can't wait for them to finally collapse. Great job, Iger!

Iger's the one who steered the ship into the iceberg. He's also the one claiming there's no iceberg, even while the band is playing on their final performance on the deck.
Didn't Calpers get out before Peltz? Also, Peltz can always take the Billion in profits and get back in when Disney's stock leaves the toilet and lands in the sewer.
The crazy thing is it's the right move no matter what imo. Even if Disney wanted to fix the problems it has, it would take years to remove all the problems and train up new workers. If Disney made a profit within 5 years of trying to make those changes I would be surprised. Consider that basically Disney would have to fire nearly every one in management, train up new people and deal with countless activist in it's ranks that would do anything to make Disney look bad if it helps their "cause.
Buy low, sell high. Peltz knows that the Disney stock price can only go down under Iger. Once it hits rock bottom, he’ll be able to buy Disney at penny stock prices and then make a play again for the board of directors.
Peltz not only gave Iger a black eye, he should have told F.U. too!!!!!!
First black eye came when he joined “The Big Club”.
Really digging your videos, keep it real!
This is also a pretty big vote of no confidence in Iger's ability to add value to the Disney stock, which is precisely what his job is supposed to be.

I disagree, bailing was his only option. First, he himself wanted on the board due to the mismanagement, so he himself believes that Disney is badly managed. Second, Bob Iger summoned other activists to fight off Nelson Peltz and Disney bought back shares for billions, driving up the stock price during the proxy battle. So if you don’t believe in the longterm success of the current board and you know that the proxy battle inflated the stock price, selling asap is the only correct reaction. Everything else is risking huge losses based on all you know and believe.
He wasn't just up against Disney DEI is a Black Rock endever as wall as a the WEF and the WEF is a subsiterary of the United Nations That means he was up against a Global monstrosity
Disney is a lost cause and Nelson realised this after losing the proxy battle and cashed in and made bank!
I cancelled my subcription a few mounths ago. the only interest to me now is seeing them get what they deserve, which is ricicule and contempt for trying to force there message instead of gently nudging.
I feel so bad for Walt Disney. More people are rooting for the company’s demise, which includes his entire life’s work. Iger’s plan to make the public abandon Walt is working.
I don't see how this is bad for Disney. This literally allows them to keep destroying themselves, and now with him and his group gone, they can do it without anyone bringing it up. Sure it is going to kill the company, but that is what modern Disney wants to do to itself.
Disney is done. I have come to peace that Star Wars is dead. So is Indiana Jones, Willow, and the MCU. Now I just want to see how hard disney falls.
I think that they will get now even more woke, not that I care anymore.
Disney's victory is an insane drowning man successfully fighting off his rescuers.
He did the right thing, Disney is at $101 in price at this moment.
This is probably for the best. No more lines for iger to pull himself out of the holes he's dug.
Your last statement was spot on. The stock will decline. But there will be attempts to rally. But it will be from ideologues not true investors. Then price goes down and the proxy wars continue. It’s a mirror image of what’s happening to our federal and state government.

I can still kinda see him buy more shares after acolyte tanks and loses even more stock value. Can buy more for cheap after that to use for a takeover or wait for price to slowly go back up before selling off again
Means nothing to me. Since I don't have any shares in Disney.
May be time to short Disney
Peltz do the correct thing. - That Acolyte will come and flops real soon. - Plus everything else of this year Disney except Deadpool is Dreadful. - So, sale now let Disney do bob thing, then buy back more shares at no extra cost.
Disney is in for it now.

I am reminded of the scene in Indiana Jones: The Last Crusade where Elsa keeps reaching for the Holy Grail even when it is clear doing so will bring about her demise. Peltz being the competent party in this battle is something downright shocking to see given his actions in the 90s is why he is the literal textbook example of incompetent American executives and how the broken way American corporations hire and pay executives insentivives them to destroy the companies they run that's used in business school textbooks, right next to Michael Eisner who did the same thing since people forget that while he became a billionaire running Disney, Disney shareholders got less returns then federal bonds would have during his time running the company.
To quote Yzma: "Well, it ain't getting any better"
Wait! Peltz might have been thinking that Disney prices really will plummet in the next year, and so that the Money he gets NOW from selling his shares, if set aside, could go into buying up an even bigger stake that would put him back into play for some future Proxy War. Really, if Disney had another disastrous year, a second battle could more likely turn his way. Thumbs Up for the news.
A Scarlet Witch movie!?! That's what they are planning now? Yeah, he did the right thing by cashing out. His money and efforts can be put to better use elsewhere.
If park attendance continues to stagnate during the summer, Disney + continues to underwhelm, and the only bright spot on their cinematic ledger this year turns out to be the rated 'R', Deadpool & Wolverine, I expect their stock to plummet into the $80's, if not lower. Peltz could be back with even more shares purchased at bargain basement / fire sale prices. This is going to be a very bad year for Bob Iger.
For Disney this is the very definition of a Pyrrhic victory
I commented at some point that Peltz's interest in Disney was driving the company's value up. Peltz did try to change things and we appreciate the effort. As for selling the shares, it's the best thing he could've done given he was going nowhere. I'm curious to know who will buy the now available shares, at what price and how many. If Iger and his minions do it, which they won't, they know they'll lose money. Hopefully no other idiots will buy them.
They have killed any interest I had in their properties so it won't affect me anyway.
He can always buy those shares back when the price drops even more as it inevitably will. He - and other shareholders - could have made more money by making the right decisions to push the price up to $200 or more but he got a healthy cash profit quickly and can still come back to take over the company later.
Warren Buffet sold his Paramount shares and everyone could see it spelled bad news bears for those fools. I could see this having a similar effect.
There is a saying that electorates get the politicians they deserve. That is, they will get good governments when they vote for them. The same probably ought to be even more true for corporate governance because the questions are generally easier. It is ironic that Disney may actually be worth its current share price. But that assumes that the company will take the necessary medicine without changing the doctor who prescribed the wrong medicine before. (Note: This is neither financial nor medical advice!)
I would have sold my shares when Deadpool comes out and then cut and run
So basically we are watching that scene from The Boys where Homelander and Edger talk one last time and Edger is basically cashing out and letting the chips fall where they may.
I haven't been a fan of Disney for a while. I liked when they put out No Way Home. Everything else has been misses for me. I luckily saw Force Awakens and sold out of Disney when the share price was closer to $200. I think I made a few bucks off of it. Nothing like Peltz, but I was also just starting my investment journey.
Trian held 1.77% of Dizney stock. Eventually Peltz will have the choice of reacquiring that 1.77% or a large coffee at Starbucks with change left over.
The brand has been long dead. Peltz finally admitted it and made money out of those idiots on the way out. #RIPDisney
He probably heard of something really dumb going on or maybe some of the same shenanigans and was like, "ok how much can I make if I sell right now? Ok, go for it, bye bye Disney."
Iger: “Bu…but WHY??!!!!” Peltz: “Yourself, the board you control and the investors have made me realise you really don’t want the company to be saved.. so I am out and I’m cashing out too!!”
Peltz made the right call. Disney hit $85 last year, and they haven’t made any real substantial changes to change course. So logic would dictate that this year to early 2025 the stock will likely drop below that. They need nearly every film to strike it rich and be profitable otherwise they will still be losing money. And Universal is hitting their stride in Florida so their parks are now facing real competition. I’m not sure they have a strong dependable revenue stream anymore
Unbelievable, how some news outlets try to frame a 1 billion win as a lost proxy war. 😅 Looking at the chart he has chosen the perfect time to sell. Perhaps he will reinvest, once they are under 70.
Im sick of ppl asking what woke or what a girl boss is. Cant remember who said it but "i dont know what pornography really is but i know it when i see it."
*I already had little hope for a course correction, but now it's officially over.* Iger & co will continue to burn Disney to the ground over the next few years, and they will hand over the reign of this sinking ship to some "alphabet" people, who will keep blaming their failure over their public. Peltz and Purlmutter are already old now, so even if Disney is up for grab in a few years, they will probably be too old at that point (if they're even still there).
When the share price drops far enough, Peltz may buy back in for the next round.
Peltz sold his shares after the first take over. He then bought up his new position for round 2. If he goes round 3, he'll do the same. WDW Pro covered this.
What it tells me is that Nelson Peltz, a man who built his career in his company on finding companies and fixing them and making them better has determined that Disney is unfixable and is now digesting himself and washing his hands this means and this should be a signal to other investors to dump their stockand follow suit and when that happens, your career is going to go down the toilet an accelerated rate
Bob Iger was the Joker burning a mountain of mobster money, saying "It's not about the money. It's about sending a message." Now Bobby is promising to burn smaller mountains of money from now on. For, uh, the environment! Yes, he's even promising to look into clean-burning money.

Lions will chase and eat healthy deer. If the lions are kept away from the deer. The deer will become food for the carrions. That will be the fate of Disney.
