And that money probably came from Iger (via Disney) propping up the stock price for a while so that Iger would look a bit better during the proxy battle. Way to go for Peltz playing the game, it's a win-win for him.

Speaking of Peltz playing 3D-chess... and winning... against a certain dufus... (whose initials are BI or RI) Here's another 3D-chess scenario... theory... What if the institutional investors, like BR, VG, and SS... are really in this for the LONG haul? What if they bought a lot of stock using their own customers' money... which IS exactly what they did... So that they could get control... which they WILL have whenever they want it... Then, when the previously mentioned dufus drives it into the ground (which is the reason they did NOT want Peltz)... They can then use their OWN money to buy it very low... then bring in someone to turn it around... Hey... it's just an idea...

Blackrock won't let Disney go, and Disney have alienated almost the entire customer base (with the woke "modern audience" not being actual customers who buy anything.) It's like someone slowly poisoning themselves with tobacco or alcohol, while calling all non-smokers and non-alcoholics "bigots" for not supporting their destructive lifestyle. Peltz was their last hope to save Disney, but they're beyond redemption, now. And frankly, I still haven't forgotten about their meddling in Florida's laws (and I don't even live in that state) and proudly pushing LGBT propaganda to children in movies like Lightyear and Strange World (and I'm not even a parent or anti-LGBT, per se.) Disney is full of too many "men in white vans with candy" for me to feel anything but schadenfreude at their inevitable demise, and I for one can't wait for them to finally collapse. Second, Bob Iger summoned other activists to fight off Nelson Peltz and Disney bought back shares for billions, driving up the stock price during the proxy battle. So if you don’t believe in the longterm success of the current board and you know that the proxy battle inflated the stock price, selling asap is the only correct reaction. Your last statement was spot on. The stock will decline. But there will be attempts to rally. But it will be from ideologues not true investors. Then price goes down and the proxy wars continue. It’s a mirror image of what’s happening to our federal and state government.

I am reminded of the scene in Indiana Jones: The Last Crusade where Elsa keeps reaching for the Holy Grail even when it is clear doing so will bring about her demise. This is current day Disney, so fixated on that DEI Grail, they refuse to admit their pursuit is killing their business. Personally, I could not care less anymore. I only follow these videos now because I really want to see the mouse tumble into that abyss, knowing I can look forward to videos of The Proper People exploring the forsaken ruins that once was the Disney Empire.

Peltz being the competent party in this battle is something downright shocking to see given his actions in the 90s is why he is the literal textbook example of incompetent American executives and how the broken way American corporations hire and pay executives insentivives them to destroy the companies they run that's used in business school textbooks, right next to Michael Eisner who did the same thing since people forget that while he became a billionaire running Disney, Disney shareholders got less returns then federal bonds would have during his time running the company.

Wait! Peltz might have been thinking that Disney prices really will plummet in the next year, and so that the Money he gets NOW from selling his shares, if set aside, could go into buying up an even bigger stake that would put him back into play for some future Proxy War. Really, if Disney had another disastrous year, a second battle could more likely turn his way. Thumbs Up for the news.

If park attendance continues to stagnate during the summer, Disney + continues to underwhelm, and the only bright spot on their cinematic ledger this year turns out to be the rated 'R', Deadpool & Wolverine, I expect their stock to plummet into the $80's, if not lower. Peltz could be back with even more shares purchased at bargain basement / fire sale prices. This is going to be a very bad year for Bob Iger.

I commented at some point that Peltz's interest in Disney was driving the company's value up. Peltz did try to change things and we appreciate the effort. As for selling the shares, it's the best thing he could've done given he was going nowhere. I'm curious to know who will buy the now available shares, at what price and how many. If Iger and his minions do it, which they won't, they know they'll lose money. Hopefully no other idiots will buy them.

He can always buy those shares back when the price drops even more as it inevitably will. He - and other shareholders - could have made more money by making the right decisions to push the price up to $200 or more but he got a healthy cash profit quickly and can still come back to take over the company later.

There is a saying that electorates get the politicians they deserve. That is, they will get good governments when they vote for them. The same probably ought to be even more true for corporate governance because the questions are generally easier. It is ironic that Disney may actually be worth its current share price. But that assumes that the company will take the necessary medicine without changing the doctor who prescribed the wrong medicine before. (Note: This is neither financial nor medical advice!)

Peltz made the right call. Disney hit $85 last year, and they haven’t made any real substantial changes to change course. So logic would dictate that this year to early 2025 the stock will likely drop below that. They need nearly every film to strike it rich and be profitable otherwise they will still be losing money. And Universal is hitting their stride in Florida so their parks are now facing real competition. I’m not sure they have a strong dependable revenue stream anymore

*I already had little hope for a course correction, but now it's officially over.* Iger & co will continue to burn Disney to the ground over the next few years, and they will hand over the reign of this sinking ship to some "alphabet" people, who will keep blaming their failure over their public. Peltz and Purlmutter are already old now, so even if Disney is up for grab in a few years, they will probably be too old at that point (if they're even still there).

What it tells me is that Nelson Peltz, a man who built his career in his company on finding companies and fixing them and making them better has determined that Disney is unfixable and is now digesting himself and washing his hands this means and this should be a signal to other investors to dump their stockand follow suit and when that happens, your career is going to go down the toilet an accelerated rate
