The Nelson Mandela Bay Metro has activated nine communal water collection points as it pushes ahead to avert Day Zero. This is due to one of the Metro's main dams, Churchill dam levels being very low and affecting water supply. The water supply from the dam has been reduced from 60 megalitres of water a day to 25 mega-litres a day.
