Neil Peart Rush Drum Solo

Музыка

RIP remembrance of the complete uninterrupted Rush Drum Solo (2:18) is a Blu-Ray tribute to Neil Peart. The virtuoso drummer and lyricist for Rush, died January 7, 2020, in Santa Monica, California, at age 67. The cause was brain cancer, which Peart had been quietly battling for three-and-a-half years. His death was publicly announced on January 10, 2010.
Malignant Narcissism and Neil Peart's high-def full drum solo is from Rush Snakes & Arrows 2007. Neil Peart was one of rock’s greatest drummers, with a flamboyant yet precise style that paid homage to his hero, the Who’s Keith Moon, while expanding the technical and imaginative possibilities of his instrument. He joined singer-bassist Geddy Lee and guitarist Alex Lifeson in Rush in 1974, and his musicianship and literate, philosophical lyrics - which initially drew on Ayn Rand and science fiction, and later became more personal and emotive - helped make the trio one of the classic-rock era’s essential bands. His drum fills on songs like “Tom Sawyer” were pop hooks in their own right, each one an indelible mini-composition; his lengthy drum solos, carefully constructed and packed with drama, were highlights of every Rush concert.
Watch Rush in Rio full concert: • Rush in Rio Complete C...
In a statement released Friday afternoon January 20, 2020, Lee and Lifeson called Peart their “friend, soul brother, and bandmate over 45 years,” and said he had been “incredibly brave” in his battle with glioblastoma, an aggressive form of brain cancer. “We ask that friends, fans, and media alike understandably respect the family’s need for privacy and peace at this extremely painful and difficult time,” Lee and Lifeson wrote. “Those wishing to express their condolences can choose a cancer research group or charity of their choice and make a donation in Neil Peart’s name. Rest in peace, brother.”
Neil Peart was a drummer’s drummer, beloved by his peers; he won prizes in Modern Drummer’s annual readers’ poll 38 times and was a formative influence on countless young players. “His power, precision, and composition were incomparable,” Dave Grohl said in a statement released Friday. “He was called ‘The Professor’ for a reason: We all learned from him.”
“Neil is the most air-drummed-to drummer of all time,” former Police drummer Stewart Copeland told Rolling Stone in 2015. “Neil pushes that band, which has a lot of musicality, a lot of ideas crammed into every eight bars - but he keeps the throb, which is the important thing. And he can do that while doing all kinds of cool shit.”
Rush finished their final tour in August of 2015, after releasing their last album, Clockwork Angels, in 2012. Peart was done with the road. He questioned whether he could stay physically capable of playing his demanding parts, and was eager to spend more time with his wife, Carrie Nuttal, and daughter Olivia. Source: RollingStone.com

Neil Peart is the only celebrity death that I have weeped over. This band had a profound effect on me and my brother. The band gave us common ground without which the two of us would never have healed. My brother passed away back in 2014. As a teenager I had no musical horizon, I had a vanishing point. I listened to kiss only. My brother wanted me to listen other bands because he knew I would get much more out of music if I became a fan of music. He got for me Rush 2112 just because. A week passes before I even listened to it. I was blown away when I finally did hear the music. From that point on my brother and I started to heal. We picked up every record that they recorded. We would talk about the band all the time. We went to shows together. That band gave the both of us so much more then music. RIP Neil, we will all miss you so much.

I'll tell you, there isn't anyone around today that can keep the audiences attention for 15 minutes with a "drum solo". It just doesn't happen. Neil was able too because better than his playing, (which was already in the stratosphere) was his "composing". He could make a drum solo flow and sound incredible leaving the audience on edge waiting to hear what's next. How many rockers today can do that ???

Drummers always 'kinda freak out' about RUSH's 🎶TIME SIGNATURES. So I stated, its never the drummers' idea. The band requests some extra beats, To get (force) their guitar riffs to fit into it. I said this, so Drummers can envision it from the guitarists' requested "point of view" to GET IT DOWN ROCK SOLID. ➡ then ⤵ i realize, it is the vocalists' request..to his own self(Neil, the drummer) RIP. 🎶 so i realize ; 1) Neil writes his lyrics, 2) Neil Writes his Drum Parts, to suit the Lyrical rhythm! 3) submits to band & jams. a FLY on the Wall MOMENT in TIME/SPACE 3 1/ 2 ) band 'Toke break'🚬 : )🚬🔥 ☁ ☁🎸↘ 👞 🎶 4) Proceed to Stage.Unique ➡trippy⤵ So NOW it dawns on me, ➡🎶⤵ Power Trios usually have their Drummer on Vocals. So i imagine, their drummer wrote their Lyrics 1st) wrote his drum parts 2nd) Recorded onto raw Cassette stereo...Vocal isolated far left. Drums isolated far right. And submits tape to band, 3rd) Bass & guitarist throw some of their jams over the beats! , 4th). Submit to Drummer 5th) Jam 🎥 rehearse Live 6th) Gig. 7th).🎶 8th)party. ☔ HEY! did anyone else notice, rehearse is SPELLED like Re - hearse A hearse is that high-roofed station wagon vehicle, that gives you, your Very LAST RIDE. (in your coffin) try and be clean-shaven? just kidding ~ hope you laughed ~ 🎶Be sure and Re hearse🎶 Later on, from Feb 2021 RUSH 🎸 ROCKs! Cygnus x1 book 2, to you. on Hemispheres album : )

I remember the first time I heard RUSH was when WMMS 101 (Cleveland Radio Station) first aired Working Man. My buddy and I was blown away. We first thought it was a new Zeppelin song but really listening to it we knew it was not. We heard the name Rush and went out and bought the album. MAN!!!! What a mind blower this album was. Loved it!! Hard Rocking but yet had good rhythms and just overall kicked ass. Still love it to this day including “Find My Way Home.” Fly by Night being their next album, which featured Neil Peart. (Note: N. Peart replaced John Rutsey due to medical issues prior to the FBN release.) Featuring the drumming that Neil Peart contributed to the sound of RUSH was F’kn unbelievable. So much going on it was hard to grasp. Then I had the opportunity to see them live at what used to be the Cleveland Coliseum (now gone away). I was so blown away that three (3) guys could put out such sound, great musicians, and just wonderful music. I became a RUSH fan from that point on and even to this day. RUSH has been under-estimated / recognized for their music, talent for years. Finally getting into the Rock-n-Roll HOF. GEE! Ya Think!!!! Each one of the band members of RUSH should be recognized as TOP-OF-THE-LINE Musicians. You can’t beat that talent. Really! Set back and really watch Alex Lifeson play his guitar(s). J.C. that guy is just frk’ing out of bounds. Getty Lee’s base work is far surpassed any that I have ever seen. And I have been to many concerts in my day. Of course, “Neil Peart.” The BEST ever percussionist that has hit the live stage. Of the many 35 RUSH concerts I have attended, I am very thankful that I was able to see these guys play. If anyone has never seen there live shows (or REALLY listen to their music), they have missed out. My heart dropped when Neil Peart passed away. I just felt so empty like I just lost my best friend (which unfortunate I did in 2006). I wish the best for Alex and Getty and hope at some point we can here some music from them in the future. Thank you, Alex, Getty, and Neil, for bringing us such great music over the many decades. Truly will be missed……

He was truly one of a kind. Sure miss him. For as hard as that man always seemed to work behind the drums, I can't recall him ever breaking a sweat! Amazing. RIP Neil. :(

I pride myself in being a true fan. Ivecwatched his drill solo grow over the years. Different approaches on themes he kept in the solo as well as new parts and technology added along the way. You always knew part of the show is his solo....you always knew you'd hear something familiar as well as something completely different. I'm so grateful for these guys who have influenced me in music, art, sensibility and wit.

What amazed me about Neil’s playing style, is that it looked like he was going to make mistakes almost every other move, but he didn’t. Dude was like a metronome!

Neil is the greatest drummer ever. I don't think I know anyone who would say otherwise, even people who are not Rush folks. He is like a combination of Buddy Rich, Gene Crupa, John Bonham all in one Drum God. Rest in Peace Neil.
