    'The Young Ones' were awesome. Remember Neil in the bath when he pulls a bike out of the murky water. This song was really funny and love the 'B' side.

    He then came back on the Christmas special that year and started to sing "My White Bicycle" which was the follow-up, then realised what music was playing. I saw him in WWRY a few years ago and he does have a phenomenal singing voice.

    This song brings back memories when I was a kid lol. The young ones really was ground breaking for its time. Looking back now it's easy to see why it was successful with the late rik mayall, ade edmondson and Ben elton,alexie sayle involved

    I was brought up with this, I was born in 80 and my dad was a massive fan of The young ones and bombarded us with this and I still know it word for word 43 years later lol. Fluffy hair on a polar means more to me than lavatory, you can't go far in a motor car with my fro t door key🤣

    I'm only 15, but my dad used to play this song for me when I was little and I just remembered about it, because I had a nightmare about it! Hahhaa. This thing is crazy! But the version that my dad used to play for me had him talking about corn flakes and eating cheese he found under the stove...? I can't find that version. But it was deffinitely this cover because it had the apology to his shoes for stepping on them. Lmao

    I first came across Neil in 1986. I was a Canadian doing Spring Break in Florida. Neil was hosting MTV and did dour little monologues, showed clips, and sang "Hole In My Shoe." I had never heard of the Young Ones but became intrigued and sought them out on the CBC (I also have some VHS that no one will watch with me). North American needs The Young Ones.

    Talk about novelty!!! When I first heard this song, I thought that Tom Bailey from The Thompson Twins had released a solo single!!! Then when I saw the video, it was Neil from "The Young Ones"!! A brilliant interpretation of the song originally made famous by the band Traffic in 1967. This got to number 2 in the UK singles chart as did the original. To tell you truth it does sound a bit Thompson Twinsesque.

    At the age of 9 I had this on vinyl and would play it on my battery powered Fisher Price turntable. I used to like the B side - Hurdy Gurdy Mushroom Man - side 'cos it had the word 'shit' in it. Now the kids have iPads... fucking iPads! Christ, I'm getting old :(

    One of the cuts of this song I got on tape in 1984. I stayed up all night and made cassettes of some of the latest music from an FM radio show out of Manitoba Canada called CBC Nightlines. The last line of this song said- Wait a minute, if the earth is round, where are all the corners. Have never been able to find that cut on KZread. Anyone know of what I speak?
