Neil really does Mark’s song proud here. If ever a song deserved to be a worldwide smash hit it’s this one.

The thing is, this might not have been a commercial hit, but the vast majority of Australians over the age of 20-something could sing along to this song. It's definitely an Australian classic.

I remember watching this on BBC Two , as part of their ' Song writers Circle ' series. It must have been around 1999, I lived at 57 Hanger Lane, Ealing , it must have been around 1999. My girlfriend had gone , my job had gone, my 'resting ' actor drinking partner had gone. It was me and a bottle of Bulgarian red wine . Best evening I ever had .Grateful to be able to appreciate it all over again.

Jezz folks read a few of the other replies on here before you make a comment . So ya don't look so silly ! It's not their song and that's why they did not record it . Some bands are fine letting the original band do their thing with a song. Crowded House and Split Enz had tons of fun doing their own tunes. Here Neil takes a moment to share a song that grabbed him . He gave credit where it's due . Just enjoy the moment for what is is ...... Thanks Neil. Always in my collection . Keep having fun !

dude i don't think you understand, a band can't "release" a song that isn't theirs without consent from the songs originator... on top of that, Hunters released the track as a single in '84 (Crowded House didn't form until '85) Hunters put it on an LP in '86 (Crowded House didn't gain international success until '87)...+ i think Hunters did just fine with it, Eddie Vedder loves it & regularly plays it at live gigs... do you even know who Eddie Vedder is?
