The last lyric in this song is the title of the first, "Goodbye". "Goodbye" exclusively samples Third Eye Blind's hit song. I believe Neil chose Semi-Charmed Life as such an important song to this album because it was the last big song on the top of the Pop Rock Billboard charts before All-Star took its place in 1999. So this album is a prequel to Mouth Sounds, where Smash Mouth dominates everything and becomes the answer of the entire universe.

Neil is such a universal internet-person experience. I still remember when I randomly stumbled upon Desinc in the comments of The End. Repeatedly.

I NEVER HEARD HAMSTERDANCE IN THIS BEFORE! HOW DID I NOT NOTICE IT?HAMSTERDANCE IS EPIC!

The fact that Neil made the mood of Hamsterdance and the Fraggle Rock theme fit something like this is just incredible. This needs like 100x more views.

I can’t listen to anymore of these songs without thinking about this version now. And I’ve no regrets.
