This playhouse is a safe haven for a little girl with asthma!!!! What soulless adult has the right to say that the play house needs to be removed!? I stutter and use to have to go to speech therapy and after speech sessions I'd practice my speech techniques infront of my dolls and no one came up to my mom and said your daughter needs to have those removed! Also that playhouse is adorable! I'm all with the mom on this case.

I could give a shit about what the HOA has to say. My house, my rules. We recently bought a very nice 3 story house and we decided to add solar panels. Our old grumpy neighbor said that she feared that lighting would bounce off of it and strike her house she wanted us to remove them immediately I simply laughed, said fuck off and closed the door. She turned around and while leaving she kicked my mailbox and a car that I had parked outside. I sued her for property damage and used that money to put up more solar panels for my Teslas🙂

HOA's destroy neighborhoods. All HOA is, is a group of snobby people dictating on how you can live you life. A friend of mine lived in a town that had an HOA an after his father past away he bought the international pickup truck, the one that's the size of a semi. The truck is classed as a personal vehicle an the HOA told him to remove the vehicle because it violated the commercial vehicle rule. They said that the vehicle is a Commercial vehicle an needed to be removed or they would charge him $1500 a week till it's gone. After fighting against the HOA for a few months he decided to move but before he left he had a massive party an told all of his friends to show up in commercial trucks.

When my husband and I decided to buy a house, on of the requirements I gave the real estate agent was no houses in any neighborhood with a mandatory HOA. There are too many stories, from people not being permitted to put a up a flagpole to senior citizens losing their homes for failure to pay HOA dues on time. We found a lovely home in a peaceful neighborhood, with a voluntary HOA that does a fine job of keeping up the area, without running our lives.

The long for death I can definitely understand it from both povs. I get so frustrated with my neighbor because they're all the time leaving stuff in their yard & it makes the neighborhood look tacky. Trying to understand from a HOA pov, I can understand that as well. They're responsible for making sure the neighborhood looks nice & such right? A pink "house" stands out like a sore thumb unfortunately. I feel bad for the kid but as a parent if I moved into a nice neighborhood with an HOA I wouldn't even think about putting up that. I'm considerate of my neighbors & try to imagine how what I do may affect others. This is just my opinion though.😉

True enough, Lol; but this playhouse is also the usual size of a child's playhouse. The biggest difference is that yard sheds are used for the storage of tools and/or equipment, while playhouses are strictly for children to play in and enjoy as their own personal spot, and are usually decorated to look like a fort of some kind or a miniature house.

The HOA that I have in my neighborhood gets really out of hand. We've gotten letters from them about weeds.... which were sprayed, and then got a letter telling us to pull the dead weeds. We've had letters telling us to have the dead tree in our front yard removed (it's most certainly NOT dead, just a late bloomer). And one of the most ridiculous letters we got was one that told us to move our truck out of the rocks on the side of the driveway.... it wasn't parked in the rocks.... it was mostly in the driveway, and one side was only about 3 inches over the edge into the rocks! I know some HOAs are good, but it's very aggravating that many step WAY over the line!

That sounds almost exactly like my parents' HOA! They tried to force my dad to get a new fence for thousands of dollars because 2 of our neighbors wanted to remodel their porches (why should we change our home just because someone else is dissatisfied with where they live?). They threatened legal action too, until they found out my dad just got out of law school and backed out like the cowards they are. They made my brothers pull weeds so small we hadn't even realized were there to begin with, and on one occasion actually came onto our property to chop down a small tree by our front door just because our neighbor (same one from the porch story) complained that she didn't think it looked nice. Now, they are going around counting how many cars in people's driveways and said they are going to start issuing fines. On the bright side, it's motivated both my parents to start looking into getting a seasonal business out of state. Less time with bitchy, nosy neighbors, and no way the HOA can reasonably demand stupid shit.

I personally don’t agree with HOA. The point of America is to have a free country and you can do what you want. It’s their house, people can do whatever they please with it. HOA ruins the whole point of America, which is to be free. You pay for the house, do what you want with it.

I moved into a house in Salisbury a short time after Halloween several years ago, and put my nieces playhouse in the front yard. Not long after a neighbor complained and a city official told me I had to move it. I ask if we were allowed to decorate for Christmas and he said yes, so I put lights on it and left it there until after the first of the year then put it in the back yard. I have always thought that neighbor must have been pissed about it being there that long.

Sounds like the time the HOA tried making my parents get rid of our swing set because it was barely over the top of the fence and "unsightly". I don't think it's a problem as long as it's for children and isn't an eyesore (which it definitely isn't). Sometimes it's not even the HOA that has a problem with it, but a neighbor who reports it, making the HOA obliged to say something about it. Either way, it shouldn't matter. It doesn't look trashy like some sheds do and looks a heck of a lot better than those plastic play houses from fisher price.

Spiral Breeze Ummm seems to me like you know shit about buying a house and what an HOA is, lmfao google is a _magical_ thing kiddo but because i'm feeling nice, i'll educate you. 1. "Your" house, is *never* fully yours, that property and the building on it belong to the government, not to you. 2. When you buy a property controlled by an HOA you sign off saying that you will comply with their rules, they have every legal right to those rules and most of those rule are standard building codes that you'll get fined with anyways for not following. 3. If you lack the ability to read a document before you sign it then your a fucking idiot kid. 4. Maybe you should look up what "free" actually means, because you have _never_ been free in your whole life, freedom is signed away the minute a government is created because government and freedom cannot coexist, ever taken a government class? That's one of the first things taught. Not having freedom not a bad thing, far from it, without government we would all be slaughtering eachother, starving and dying of disease, rules, laws, regulations and government protection are the only things saving us from ourselves. 5. Maybe you should _try_ not to be such a huge idiot? You're giving this country a worse name then it already has dear.

HOA was originally establish years and years ago when the housing market was on the rise and suburbs kept popping up. The thought was that by keeping a set of regulations for the houses in a neighborhood, you would avoid people who would trash up their yards etc etc and therefore the property value of the neighborhood wouldn't go down.

Her safe house should be with her parents. in the main home. it's a play house. not a treatment room. H.O.A Are there for a reason. they say everything is supposed to be uniform. anyone who pays the fee and signs the covenant knows this. what was said and what is written are just that. she will lose her Tiny House.

zacho cracy LOL Sweetheart, you really shouldn’t use words from the thesaurus until you know what they mean. Also, if you actually research this past your own DELUDED sense of self-grandeur, you’ll realize that 1) she actually has the texts in writing and showed them, therefore it is not heresay, 2) they HOA rules don’t even say anything about play equipment, and are only classifying this as a shed on a whim. You’re just calling my logic heresay because it refuted yours and your fragile ego can’t take it.

HOA threatened to evict my family because of broken bricks on our porch, they also forced us to put plants and decorations in our yard because it's unsightly, and if our grass goes over 2 inches one of our nosey neighbors will call them and report us. America is supposed to be a country of freedom but the fact that I can't even plant a tree in my yard without a permit provess it isn't.

Baby Demon Otaku Twins It isn't a law, it's a home owners' association. It's all about property values and genteel appearance. However, in some municipalities, the zoning codes about various outbuildings such as detached garages, sheds, and treehouses are written into the zoning codes as a matter of law. Individual propefty rights are a thing of the past. This world is becoming a cold-hearted place.

Torie Paige I think it's mainly a legal issue with the owner of the property. The same way you can't just build a house anywhere. Like the other reply said, they might think of it as another building on the property because it has electricity running through it. I don't think it would be an issue if it was just like a dog house or something.

  • @voidface8827

    @voidface8827

Electricity is probably the main issue. I don't know the laws in America, but if it has electricity or water in my country it's a shed and you need extra papers/permission for that.

TheChickenRiceBowl I'm not from America either. That's why I said might. And maybe those people own the property or got the permission. Where I live most people I know live in houses on property that they bought so they are free to do whatever they want
