It looks like, in Payback, the cars are driving at 60km/h, but sounds like 200+km/h; that's what's hurting its sensation of speed.

yeah but a big part is also the environment. In payback you're driving through a desert road, passing by things that are spaced far apart, but then in heat, you're racing through a city, passing by things that are closer together.

The sounds in Heat are fuller. You hear the engine exhaust, the intake, the air blowing pass along with tire noises. It all sounds more realistic and fulfulling.

@@lamorsa4877 there is the SRT8 and you can change the front and back parts to have the Hellcat look. In Payback there was also a widebody similar to the Redeye one.

Forza car sounds piss me off lol, people always use the excuse "Nfs and has less cars than forza and forza has way more so thats why forza isnt as good". Thats not damn excuse to use in every argument, its bad. Its almost 2020 and you still cant make legit car sounds in a game? The doors here 👉🚪🗑

Sounds are almost the same but in NFS Heat are less muffled and pops are louder compared to 2 previous games. Still better then FH4`s sounds.

The AMG is definitely better in payback. Heat doesn’t have the airy/fluttery sounds that we hear in the AMG GTR and G Wagen. It sounds muscly but we don’t hear the flutter that is quite prominent in those cars.

BlackPanthaa BlackPanthaa I hope Need for Speed is putting up the good work into the franchise to make it a lot more than it ever was. I kinda believe that Need for Speed Heat isn't actually going to be a fun game, but it's 50x more better, cooler and realistic than Payback and the 2015 reboot of NFS. I'm hoping you might actually reply back to me though. So psyched to get that game.

The Sound from the Nissan Skyline GTR R34 V-Spec in payback is bot so good but in the trailer from Heat is the sound so good because its like the 2fast2furious sound

Great video!! one of the most important thing to a car person is the sound of the car!!! I hope in this need for speed hey really dial in the sounds of the cars for sure and even having the cars sound different is legit too. A really cool thing they should look at that you mentioned was adding different performance parts to change the sound of the exhaust as well. I really Hope they get the flow of the game right as well. If need for speed nails these things, Heat will be a very solid game! Love the vids have a wonderful day.

Thing about the two 911's is the one in payback is a 991.1 which is NA and the one in Heat is a 991.2 which is twin turboed so it's different by default

For the Porsche in Heat, the audio is not only louder but slightly different, not only that you can hear that turbo spooling up and it blowing off when shifting and letting off the gas

One thing that a lot of the comments don't mention is how good the noises are outside of the car. The echos, ambiance, tires, etc. are all improved in NFS Heat. The game is indeed louder, but it feels more like the car is interacting with its environment when it comes to audio.

- The GTR is more aggressive and growly - The Vette is louder and a bit growly - The AMG GT is way more louder compared to Payback - The 911 is way more realistic just like its real life counterpart

I can’t wait to hear the Challenger with a super charger. One of my favorites

I just hope NFS Heat has a better soundtrack because I think the one in Payback is the worst of them all. Especially with songs like Black Wave by Kay Flay or whatever her name is, that song was just plain irritating and stupid and maybe a few others as well.

Hey Theo, did you check if this new installment of Need For Speed has manual control?

Theo you missed a bit here. The old 991 Carrera in Payback (the model dated waaaaaay back in NFS The Run I believe) uses 3.8L NA F6, and the not-so-new 991.2 Carrera GTS used in Heat runs on 3.0L twin-turbo F6 instead. That's why Heat's engine sounds deeper and you can listen to turbo spooling, while Payback's Carrera sounds a lot higher pitched.

I just purchased payback for a tenner and I'm enjoying myself and preparing for heat just hope heat has more aftermarket part stickers

You can hear the environment affect the sound more in heat 🤔

Keep in mind, the 991.2 Carrera GTS in NGS Heat is turbocharged stock and the 991 Carrera S in Payback is N/A

They definitely made the sounds better with included the sound bounces back depending on the cars distance to from a wall

Heat basicaaly has more turbo blow offs which is what is needed

PLEASE show us what the gear shifts sound like when cruising slowly. They were disqusting in payback

The uneven backfires from the exhaust makes me drool

The feel of heat is like the E3 version of rivals if you have a closer look

I can hear difference with the turbo sounds, Heat's turbo sound is more defined.

Hopefully need for speed fixed the nissan skyline r34 sound🙏

Payback sounds like cars in closed environments like a studio recording, heat sounds like an open environment where there is environmental and background noises echoes and sound waves flows more naturally, you can hear the wind whooshing in heat not in payback. A lot more detail sounds in heat

One of the things I like about heat is the neon aesthetic at night, and tbh the daytime look to me is boring af. I'm definitely glad they have both. That's great. But I would say they could have made a more interesting to look at map. A map that makes exploration worthwhile. I loved in Underground 2 where sections of the map were locked and when they were unlocked I was wowed by the new environment and spent a lot of time in that area after the unlock.

Ahh I see the "missed a checkpoint" feature is back in a street racing game lol

They way I can describe the Vette's sound in Pay and Heat is Payback's Vette is like having a very American Mustache but Heat is like Hulk Hogan's Beard

I can't wait to play this game 🤤

Rivals was such a huge improvement from Most Wanted that it makes it kind of hard for me to see a big difference between Payback and Heat..

GTR: Heat C7 Grand Sport: Payback AMG GT: Payback 911: Heat It still amazes me how no racing game got a 100% accurate sound of a Corvette.

Has exhaust sound tuning Based on 2015's graphics Nuff said.

In Heat the car sounds are clearer, where as the cars in payback sound more muffled.

Big improvement with the corvette. It sounds more realistic. The AMG isn’t quite as raspy but that will probably be changeable in tuning. I’m glad they reflected the switch to forced induction from natural aspiration with the 991.2 gts. That’s the main reason it sounds a little muffled in comparison to the older car’s naturally aspirated engine.

Damn, they really did fixed the feeling of actually going fast in Heat.

I always found steering so difficult on payback, the sensitivity was very high and once you turned your wheels a bit you instantly began drifting. That was fucking horrible for longer roadtrips

honestly as long as the audio is decent on most cars im good. all I want is good handling. it was not good in Payback😶 its like the cars barely stick to the roads.

I think they really missed out on not having the Saleen S7 and some other cars in the game, nonetheless, the car sounds are better in heat. You can actually hear the turbo spools more and such, I'm really excited for this game

The increase in the sense of speed is mainly because of the wind noise on Heat. Your thoughts on the sound differences is spot on to me, and I don't know why the Carrera GTS has like a blow-off valve sound.

No the wind sound effects do help but in general the game just has a better sense of speed because it just does, also because the one in Heat is a 911.2 which has a turbo in real life while the one in payback is a 911.1 which is N/A. You would think people would know these things.

What I really want is to leave the exhaust stock with no backfire except if the car is equipped. And NO NITROUS on stock cars. It's better to unlock it as a performance parts like to reach that level to unlock it. The exhaust sound should be unlocked from the exhaust performance stage like Stage 1 to unlock TONE sound, Stage 2 to unlock TIMBRE sound.

I think I felt quite a bit of difference in the porsche 911 , I mean just look at it from 10:27 .. it is not only louder in heat but it is also way more high pitched , the sound felt very dull in payback
