I was 7 when NFS Carbon came in 2006. For me that is best game ever. So many great memories that I can't even describe in words.

Back to losing your car, spending a fortune to get it back in most wanted and then losing it again in carbon.

NFS Carbon, the game that got overshadowed by its three predecessors at launch. I'm glad to see that more people are starting to appreciate NFS Carbon as the game gets older. I enjoyed NFS Carbon despite its flaws. NFSC is my favourite NFS (and one of my favourite videogames alongside its three predecessors, The Run, and HP2010). Carbon and Most Wanted's graphics and gameplay aged extremely well compared to Underground duology. Carbon was the last OG street racing focused NFS. (Undercover doesn't count because you are an undercover cop in that game) Underground 1 introduced NFS franchise to illegal underground street racing with modified cars (although 5-0 doesn't even exist in that game). Underground 2 introduced an open world. UG2 also introduced the ability to customize parts like mirrors, doors, and even trunks. Most Wanted introduced cops in free roam and revolutionized cop chases in racing games with a sophisticated pursuit system. MW also has the best cop chase OST in the franchise. Carbon was the combination of Underground 2 and Most Wanted with new features like autosculpt. We got both cops and good customization in Carbon. I'm glad that you can make a sleeper build in Carbon and MW unlike Underground duology (5 and 10 star rating systems). Underground duology and Most Wanted had extremely repetitive (and bloated) campaigns, something Carbon finally fixed. However, the campaign's length suffered as a result and ended up being significantly shorter than previous NFS games (personally I don't have an issue with that). You can technically make the campaign a little bit longer by playing the defense races to keep your territory. But the short campaign of this game is one of the reasons why I come back to this game frequently. Palmont City from Carbon is one of my favourite NFS open worlds and is fun to drive around in. The atmosphere of Carbon is my favourite in the series. The neon light aesthetic is amazing, especially the Silverton district. Cross, Darius, Neville (Da Monkey), Sal, Samson, Colin, Nikki, Kenji and Wolf are some of my favourite NFS characters. Trevor Morris and Ekstrak did a brilliant job with the OST of NFS Carbon. The canyon music is one of my favourites in the franchise. The pursuit OST of MW was reused, but I can understand why it was reused, you can't improve upon perfection and there was no guarantee that the new pursuit OST would be good in the first place. The customization of NFS Carbon is one of the best in NFS franchise in my opinion, you can finally mold some body parts to your liking thanks to autosculpt. I used to max them out as a kid and end up with some hideous cars (I still have a few save files from the old days where these cars exist). The car list is one of the best in the franchise (HP2010 has the *best* car list in my opinion), but some cars are only available in quick race and can't be customized in the vanilla game (such as Plymouth Roadrunner and Chevrolet Chevelle). The sound design of Carbon is still one of the best in the franchise (the tire sound is annoying even though the quality itself is really good). The handling is slightly better than MW. Although the sense of speed is a step back from MW. The Canyon races are still as amazing as they were 15 years ago. Some people didn't like NFS Carbon because it wasn't the MW2 they expected it to be. The thing is, MW was so unique that even Black Box couldn't recreate the magic of MW, so they decided to experiment with other ideas instead (Carbon, ProStreet, Undercover, and The Run), which is why BB was shut down by EA after the commercial disappointment of *The Run* despite being a way better game than people give it credit for. Thanks for your post man. I totally agree with your opinion. This game has the best soundtrack and atmosphere of all the NFS games. The only trick they missed was that they didn't add enough jumps in the game world. Rest everything was perfect. Too bad though, people didn't like this dark moody take on the NFS Most Wanted formula...

You can get there quite easily in free roam. Do the break out of map glitch. Then travel north past the c of carbon in carbon canyon. You'll eventually see a road. Drop down onto it and drive to the top of that canyon pass. Mystery city. Can be viewed from the top. Using photo mode

@@GregoryCavill You can also go to San Juan in Quick Race, leave after the countdown, go to Career, leave the garage, go to a sprint race (no fast travel), click the button for switching crew members, (you can change or not change the member), then race. You'll be teleported to San Juan or wherever you played on Quick Race, go to the pause screen and click Return to Free Roam. You can now freely roam around San Juan or wherever you played on Quick Race.

carbon was the most epic NFS, the canyon where you can actually have to drive proper to win and drift was insane, it was the joining of classic street racing will all genres of racing combined into one epic masterpiece.

Tip on how to not lose the BMW M3 GTR: Take the old bridge jump but don't keep going, come BACK to rockport and crash into cross THEN take the jump. don't get busted by heat level 6 atleast

It gives it back to us fully restored but only for quick races. If only we got rewarded with it in career mode.

That intro makes it look like a dramatic and serious game. Something the news NFS lacks. This needs to be remaked or at least remastered with an online multipayer option

i remember in 2019 my friend forcing me to play this and Most Wanted but i didn't want to play it bcz i thought this was a very old game. i am so glad he forced me to play this this and Most Wanted. these 2 games are very close to my heart

Ok to me I think after he got th e supra he knew it was wanted bcz of the police and the palmont news channels describe the vehicle and he decided to sell or crush it then either from another city he was watching the le mons race and saw a m3 GTR sits like it not in use and maybe at night he snuck into the race way and got the car and took it .so he took it to a garage that he owned and removed the race vinyls and customize his own choice and maybe fixed the engine .after tht he continue with his journey to rockport and found an abandoned garage and from the Xbox 360 nfsmw demo we see the player getting in the car and revving it and thts how he started his career. Hope this helps
