That’s because the offline mode was added later, as far as I remember. This gives more hope that NFS2015 won’t be completely unplayable. Also, seeing how EA is letting Unbound have unprecedented levels of support also gives hope. Oh, and don’t later NFS games all have a pure offline mode? They do, afaik. That’s a big difference from what Ubisoft is doing overall.

The art direction in 2015 is the reason the game's graphics hold up to this day. Newer games look great, dont get me wrong, but criterion should take a look at this and take notes for the next iteration of nfs, whenever that may happen

@@_Sykodelic_ That's actually not the real reason. The Toyota UK tweet about "the illegal street racing claim" is totally false and fallacious. Toyota themselves debunked that misinformation. In reality, the official reason of Toyota's absence in NFS games is still unknown. It's likely due to licensing fee issues or contract clauses where EA and Toyota didn't find any agreements OR it's EA themselves with their behavior to cheap out on everything which turned off Toyota. So, Toyota moved on for other racing game IPs. Or EA and Toyota have still a beef. However. If the illegal street racing claim was the real reason (anyway, Toyota themselves debunked that nonsense), Toyota cars wouldn't be featured in NFS 2015, Forza Horizon, Initial D, Wangan Midnight or any other racing games which includes street racing as a main theme. They wouldn't be also appearing in any Fast and Furious movies. To simplify, it's all about 💵, agreements, license deals and contract clauses.

As flawed as it was, this game holds a special place for me.

I agree, the sad part of these always online issues are you spent money on the games which means you feel you own the copy playable forever and I'm a NFS fan, been playing since need for speed hot pursuit on PS1 so memories playing with friends awesome, my son is an insane fan and held a controller 1 year old with NFS 2015 on screen and his eyes alone said it all. Lol. And he has been playing ever since. Black Pantha make it happen man don't let us lose NFS 2015.... just the look alone there is definitely something about it... I remember the wait excitement for the trailer. Epic.

Online only games should allow the players to host their own servers after the online is shut down officially. There is no reason we should not be able to play a game that we paid for

2015 looked more realistic and gritty than the previous titles before it. It revived the NFS franchise to what it’s strong at. Customization and car culture. NFS is one of my fave games of all time because of this and the the pure nostalgia of 2015. BO3 came out during that time and it was awesome as well. The PS4 was having an incredible library of games and 2015 was an amazing start to a revival in a new generation.

The cost of maintaining the servers is probably covered every few hours by a player somewhere buying fifa packs

I will NOT purchase a game that cannot be played offline, ever again. When I purchased The Crew and NFS 2015, I did not ever consider the fact, that one day the games would be unplayable. If I had known, I doubt I would have ever purchased them. It just never crossed my mind, seing as this had never been an issue for me in the past. As one who frequently played/plays both games from time to time, it saddens me that I won't be able to now/in the future. It kinda seems like theft. I sincerely hope that Accursed Farms's - stopkillinggames initiative - actually will make a difference. And I really do respect BlackPanthaa for bringing the issue some much needed attention.

7:20 the visuals are a perfect example of baked hand crafted lighting designed for a fixed time of day, high quality color grading, and e3 wet roads desease. The smaller map also helps as I wouldn't be surprised if the lighting is baked into large textures instead of probes like a big map would require. These days raytracing could help replicate this with less restrictions but you're still left with barebones colorgrading and less inspired map design.

Im sure many people that think 2015 looks great still dislike the post processing though, not realising just how much it actually contributes to the realism.

This game holds a special place in my heart because in 2015 i bought the ps4 and this was the second game that i bought for the console and i loved it because i also loved cars, i was even skipping school to play it. I also discovered this channel around that time

Been playing 2015 Unite for the past few months an i absolutely love how the community has improved such an old amazing game. Would love to see things continued on 3rd party server an kept up by other's. Knowing EA, they won't give up old titles so easily especially the ones that SOLD. (Red Alert 2 and such) So don't worry, they'll figure a way to squeeze more money from this game, too.

I hope it won't shut down I remember playing it first on the ps4 and then playing it on xbox when I got my own console the Xbox one in 2019 and I remember watching your videos I'll always cherish those memories

2015 to me has been my favourite. Like you said the vibes and yes the handling is wonky at best I don’t know it makes drifting feel so nice. Not to mention I find that it has the best set of mountain passes. Some wide and more sweeping to the event drift like a panther on one of the narrowest sections. It always feels great to slide there.

1:19 yeah they are more graphically advanced as theres more resources and power to handle the new effects but i feel like they either put less time into it or thought it was good enough to avoid compensating on lighting tricks and clever effects+filters

I was so excited when 2015 was coming out, a NFS game going back to the NFSMW days.. but the always online killed it for me. I already owned the Crew and loved it, lots of hours in the game, but due to my internet at the time I was constantly disconnected from the servers. I had to go on KZread to watch cutscenes a couple times due to it registering me completing the race but I missed the cutscene due to getting kicked off due to poor internet. I even had to due rases multiple time due to getting kicked in the middle of races. So due to my Crew experience I didn't buy the game, even after getting good reliable internet, I still refuse to buy the game due to it still being always online and having multiple games lost to time after the servers are shut off. If NFS2015 ever gets an offline update I'll buy it.

2015 from my recent gameplay feels refreshing. Though it is dated, the map, the cars and dynamics are still fun even to this day. Now playing on the ps5 bumps it a bit graphically or it could just be me - looks and feels like it scratches that itch we have.

NFS Rivals Online Lobbies are still running and some players can still be seen there, and Rivals came out in 2013

You're correct but the problem is we, as consumers, showed them the playback when everyone bought/re-download the crew which rewards ubisoft ultimately.. it's like telling a kid don't do that then giving them a reward for doing it

One of my favorite games ever it's just so special for me... the visuals, the vibe, the sounds... I have played all the NFS after this but for me the look of the drifting on this one is unmatched in the other NFS while drifting the wheels dont really follow the direction of the car like they do on 2015 and it makes such a huge difference visually and it's so satisfying.

Yeah, but unlike Ubisoft, EA is actually OK with private servers for their dead games like C&C. They even let Velan Studios release a private server for Knockout City. They used to be considered the most evil company, but I think they got tired of that. XD

NFS 2015 was my first NFS that I fully played through after the original MW. i still play it because i think the drifting handling is far and above what we have today (imo) the car selection was great, i enjoyed the content thoroughly and it was just one of my favourite arcade racing experiences ever. Ill be sad when this goes and i cant play it anymore

Honestly 2015, I remember buying it day one, driving 100km just to get 1 copy and i really enjoyed the game, still do to this day, I really hope for an offline patch, especially for console player and also another reason why the game should have an offline patch, is because of Ken Block as Theo mentioned

You're totally right. The irrefutable proof is NFS titles after NFS 2015 includes an Offline mode like any mainline NFS games. That means they changed their decision afterwards.

2 things that could happen... Well 3 1. EA won't be stupid and they do an offline mode for the game 2. They shut down 2015 but they do a remaster of the game and have updated physics from Unbound or the next NFS game that happens "big copium" 3. EA doesn't care and pulls a Ubisoft

Need for speed 2015 was my first introduction to Racing games. I first got it from My Dads Friend with a free thrustmaster T80 Wheel along with it and from the start i loved it, The Graphics, The detail, It was just perfect! Yes it had its Bad sides (the Police that Were shocking and the handling was a bit crap) but In my eyes, this will always be better than payback. I do really hope they make it so you can enter the game offline.if they dont it will be sad to see this game go.

It’s a shame when online based games are shut down the only way to experience it again is either modding or watching past videos. At least Polyphony preserved GT Sport with an offline patch. Playground Games has a dedicated single player mode for the Forza Horizon series so if the servers are shut down, single player is still accessible.

I hope people bring the servers back like they did with SoapBox Race: World. I am also really wanting an underglow mod for 2015. I feel like they could be imported from newer games through Frosty Editor.

been playing this game for quite a time now and am really enjoying it the best i can because i do not want to repeat the mistake i did with the crew, also how are you getting this much delay, i play on a goddamn low tier laptop and it doesnt have it, i have a feeling that (puts on the tin hat) if they remove the always online thing, maybe that would be the moment the game would be fixed, most of the issue this game has i think probably has something to do with being tied to a server another thing to note is NFS 2015 aint the only game which was made partnered with ken block, no limits is there too, where you get the hoonicorn for literally free (4* but still does the job) which really helps you out with most of the campaign (until royals and bloodfangz which require hypercars and other classes)

Despite Im not being a huge fan of NFS 2015 it was a nice comeback to the underground street racing theme, imo NFS 2015 was like COD MW 2019, it had its flaws but it was solid reboot

7:29 the trickery, from what I see, is how the game color itself, to be as realistic as possible. I mean, even if it's night only, raining only, while it add some good effect, the coloration seems to do the magic here. Tricking you into thinking that this game is a photorealistic graphics, then you start paying attention to details, and realized, the game have 2015 graphics TBH, Heat and Unbound is actually graphically better, but the color, just make it look like a game, or maybe a stylized picture. Whereas 2015 have a realistic coloration, it always makes you think it's a new game, regardless on what year you're seeing it

Only online games are just criminal

The NFS 2015 feature like nitrous power and nitrous duration slider should have that in NFS Unbound, also the wheels can readjust wider or narrowing. Even nitrous specs that are missing on Unbound such as "refills overtime" and rear mirror hud should be added, dashboard, and dashboard modification should cone up on unbound

Corporations need to be held accountable for this type of behaviour. The Crew was and should be the last straw. Look at Ubu's stocks, the only a change will happen is by attack, hit where it hurts them. Profits and controversy

As a diehard Forza Horizon player since 2016, I picked up NFS 2015 back in 2020 and genuinely...its an incredible experience. I have a huge emotional attachment to it, it would be super disappointing if they did shut the game down without doing an offline patch at the very least

Man, since 2019 i have dreaded this games servers getting shut down. This game is my favorite NFS game ever behind underground 2, Its even one of my favorite games of all time, it gives me this crazy nostalgic feeling, its insanely underrated, i love the vibe this game gives me.

The fact that we pay for a game and at some point we won't be able to play it at all is sad it's a game I'm always coming back to don't know why but it has that special spot in my heart..

I am honestly pretty hurt that i wont be able to access my save anymore. I put a lot of time into the crew and bought all the dlc. Its definitely gonna make me hesitate to buy any more of their games until they change their stance on it

I would be devastated to see this game go honestly, I'm pretty sure modders are gonna find a way to get this game working offline but this was the first real modern NFS I played ever in summer of 2022. I just loved the vibes and still think they are unmatched, from the music to the looks and cars. Another thing that I'm concerned about tho are the community liveries which I don't think will be exported

it's the underground graphics. nfs heat's graphic looks GTA. they really need to make this offline so that people can create an RTX mod for it, improve the cop AI, make the handling consistent, introduce more cars & customizations.

Funny how GTA 4 from 2008 still has perfectly working multiplayer on xbox 360 xbox 1 and PlayStation 3 can exist. But games from 2015 cant. Keep in mind gta 4 hasnt been touched since 2010.

especially the fact that GTA 4 is one of those games that tied to GameSpy servers, which shutted down operations along with a lot of games' online multiplayer services overnight to abyss with it

What I think is funny is that Theon said: glad we have community to save our games! I thought so too, but im also thinking: what about who bought this game and The Crew for consoles? We as a community have to get together and press these companies to, at least, create an offline patch for console players. Its the least they can do for us before servers shutdown...

2015 and Heat were 2 of my favourite modern NFS games BY FAR for sure. This game still looking as beautiful as it does nearly a decade later says all we need it to say!

I really hope they leave offline “Play alone” mode in the game so it will forever be playable. Couple things, I still try and go back to complete the prestige races in all gold. I’ve only completed the spike races in gold and the rest are silver and bronze. So never being able to complete that would suck. But if they do make another update for this game removing the server but leaving offline mode, they should redo the Hoonicorn like how it was when it first dropped into the game without the Boost gauge. This version one of the hoonicorn was naturally aspirated so the boost gauge makes no sense. And then one more small thing, the interior seat belt for the in car character goes over his left shoulder still in right hand drive cars… kinda goofy , but never was fixed.

Whenever I watch your videos about need for speed , in the back of my head I’m hoping they are too 😂 we need an offline patch. It’s such an incredible game. Or a remaster? With maybe daylight too? And first person, interior customization? Please….

Rivals can also be played offline. And you can get most achievements from playing Solo. only 2 are required to play with a friend.

i like how nfs 2015 was linear compared to everything was open to me at least it always felt like nfs should be linear
