Luciano dimed out his rivals as a youth and died on his way to do a 'tell-all' which is a bit too coincidental for me to believe it was by chance. Apparently, my grandfather had a father named Jacob who left him and my great-grandmother when my grandfather was a child. My great-grandmother was found drowned to death off the shores of Coney Island. My grandfather was taken in and raised by his Uncle Meyer and his aunt. All my life I knew my grandfather by a certain name. However, one of my uncles (my grandfather's son) found old report cards or something like that with the name Meyer on them. When my uncle asked him who Meyer was, my grandfather told him he was named Meyer after an uncle but that it was a period of his life he didn't want to talk about. However, when my grandfather would drink, he would sometimes tell family members stories of his childhood. He said he was raised by a Jewish mobster uncle and was driven to and picked up from school in a Rolls-Royce. Might sound cool but he also said there were times when he would have to give up his bed to somebody who had been shot. He said his aunt never loved him or wanted him and treated him horribly but that his uncle was nice to him. These are the only 3 stories I remember. I've been told that his uncle was Meyer Lanksy and that his father was Jacob Lanksy. I guess it seems reasonable because what are the chances of two other brothers named Jake and Meyer who was also in the mob or affiliated with it? I wish there was a way to find out for certain. When I've tried to get more details from family members, I've been told that grandpa is dead and they want to honor his wishes of not speaking about it, which is BS because I think I have a right to know about my family's history. It also makes it sound sketchy to me if they're unwilling to answer my questions. Apparently, it's not the glamour life that movies and television make it out to be. My grandfather wanted nothing to do with that life and he completely left the family that raised him. One thing I find confusing is that my grandfather's last name wasn't Lansky. So, I don't know if he just changed it, if our last name is his mother's last name, if maybe my great-grandmother was never actually married to Jake, if my great-grandmother was just a side girl of Jake's, etc. And I'll probably never know my own family's history, which kind of sucks.

Idk these people but it gave me great insight as to who I am. My father questioned my legitimacy as a child. Upon reviewing both ancestral lines I can determine I am 100% my fathers child. The book I mentioned was well researched and speaks of Meyer having a grandson who was ashamed of him living in Tacoma, WA. Hope you find the answers.
