    I feel fantastic stretch but on the front of my neck as it connects to collarbones. Nothing in scull. But fabulous sensation all the way down to lower ribs!

    What muscles are you using to push/pull (?) the chest forward? Whenever I try this I end up feeling the tension in my sternum before I feel it in my neck, as if I'm puffing my chest out. What's the correct motion?

  • @NilaL
    @NilaL8 жыл бұрын

    All I can feel is the tension/soreness in my upper back and tingling in my sternum. I don't think I was doing the first exercise right, the second one felt nice.

    I felt instant relief by doing this! Thank you. But I sometimes do feel the strain on my shoulder blades when I do this

    That is not uncommon. Depending on other underlying stresses these drills can occasionally increase tension so they need to be appropriately graded day by day. Consistency with the exercises is more important than intensity so feel free to decrease the speed and range of motion as needed.

    This isn't related to the video, and I don't even know whether this is related to zhealth, so I apologize for that. Do you know what are the ways(i.e. What to eat after the workout or how much rest one should have between workouts) to get the most out of your workout sessions(i.e. Gaining even more strength)?

    +sean yue thank you for the comment/questions. It is related to Z-Health. However, the Z-Health approach is focused on assessing each individual's rest requirements, food requirements, etc. There is no way to provide an answer without meeting with you and doing a complete history and assessment. The best way to do that is by setting an appointment with a Z-Health certified practitioner. You can find one near you via this page: zhealtheducation.com/find-zhealth-trainer/

    Hi, I'm wondering if I am doing it correctly. When I lift the upper chest, it feels like I'm lifting my ribs and opening my chest through the front? I notice my shoulders roll back simultaneously, and a gentle coming together of my should blades. I can also feel my mid-back muscles contracting. Also, I wasn't really feeling it too much with the tilt, so what I did was put my hand on my chin to make sure it stayed back, and redid the moves. I then noticed a fluid draining sensation down the back side. Based on this, am I headed in the correct direction? Thanks! I'm loving your videos btw!

    that´s probably a social anxiety problem. you probably had some traumatic experiences as a child where your body tried to protect himself through muscular tension (muscular armoring). Read the work of Alexander Lowen, he talks about how traumatic experiences in your childhood are the culprit of chronic muscle tension and how to release it. It´s quite fascinating!

    help... I overdid it, using a rubber band. Didn't watch this video and I wasn't aware it can happen. Now my neck hurts around axis-atlas.. it's like muscle tightness. I have headaches too. What can I do now? I've been doing it for some weeks, and started to hurt 5 days ago. It doesn't go away.. At least my posture improved.

    Sorry to hear that you had a problem before you watched the video! In ALL Z-Health drills we err on the side of safety first because even small mobility drills can be very taxing. Because we cannot assess you over the internet our best recommendation is to see a Z-Health professional or another neuromusculoskeletal specialist to help you with your pain. It is likely that you may have overstretched or overworked the area so rest with very light mobility for a week or two is often a good place to start.

    I don’t understand why I can’t do this. Imagine pulling a board with my chin just ends up with me turning my head down and putting my chin down? I’m so desperate for relief and I can’t find a stretch that I can do that works. 😢😩

    That's not abnormal if you carry a lot of tension there. If you try these drills again, try to make the movement much smaller and generate less tension. It's very easy to overdo these. Thank you!

    I have been having neck / shoulder / upper back pain for the past 3 years. When I do this exercise, I seem to also be getting a stretch through my trap. I figure I am just super tight and this will eventually loosen after a while ?
