I got this figure last week and I love it already. Great figure, I hope NECA gives the Ultimate treatment to some more incarnations of Jason, namely the New Blood, Jason X, and Freddy vs Jason.

No, lots of people actually like Jason X for being fun. The franchise has been dead since 1989.

Funny enough I mainly picked this guy up because of how bad the mask looked on the original releases. I like the new one whole a lot better, plus i doubt we'll ever get the Roy (breaks my heart) due to sales on the retro release. Really hoping for part 7 and 8 like you said. Nice review/ comparison.

You're totally right on the mask not looking right at all. I feel thaty the figure's mask sculpt missed the essence of what the Part III Jason looked like. The original hockey mask buck was made really thin so when it was worn over the undermask hood by Richard Brooker, the straps would cause the hockey mask to warp above the ears, thus creating that teardrop shape.

When the hell is NECA going to make another Michael Myers figure?!?!?!😤

They need to make more Jason figures from the later movies. I'd kill for any of them. Especially a Part VII Jason figure.

The mask is TREMENDOUSLY better than the ones the originals had! It makes it that much more irksome that I wasn't able to find them!! Spot is right about the overall shape though.

Good release figure but i think the original releases are way better, except for the masks. i bought the ultimate just for the upgraded masks and weapons. Plus the packaging is awesome! I think the ultimate figure has bad paint on him. The heads are way darker than the neck and look weird. You also can't have a clean version with the new release. It's more of a battle damaged version. That neck blood is an issue.

NECA once again putting Hasbro to shame on both sculpt, accessories & paintwork.

I picked up the original battle damaged version dead cheap as it had no weapons or mask! But I've been patient, bided my time and Neca finally released this guy - I just knew they'd save my poor figure and now can display both with different accessories. Hooray!!

Well, apparently Jason has become more forthcoming about his Crips affiliation.

Awesome toy spot I want the Friday the 13th toys for the longest time but could never get my hands on one!!

I like the darker pants from the original release but the Ultimate Jason has the accurate color of pants.

You could always just say his neck his bloody from the machete he got in his shoulder/neck area in part 2! 😂

The head sculpt is not the same, but it's really close, there are tiny differences that I'm able to spot between them. It's almost as if they took the original sculpt and very slightly retooled a new mold for the head.

Are the hips loose like they are on the 4 other Jasons that use this mold? I own both original releases, and both NES versions, and they all have hips so loose that they can barley stand. I was just wondering is they decided to actually fix that the 5th time they're releasing it

I like the new Ultimate Jason from part 3 because you can pose him, with different weapons the 2 originals don't have, I use the Pitchfork with the damage had with no Mask that's how I pose this figured of mine.

Hey Spot, does the new Ultimate Jason feel like he's going to get loose at the hips? That was always a problem I had with that mold in previous releases, and I feel like you've mentioned that in your past reviews. If this new one still has that problem it's gonna be a pass from me. Really hoped they fixed it though.

I was at comic con and I was either going to get this Jason figure or Part 6 and final chapter of course being a sucker for part 6 I chose part 6 now I look back at it I wish I got final chapter or this instead of Part 6

Theres now a repaint of the ultimate 3d with painted white tee because if you notice the white tee shirt isnt painted with the original release of ult

No way, the Ultimate Jason masks eyes look a lot better. The other ones are too small and spaced too far apart.

Such a dope figure!!! Besides the waistline and crotch which looks like hes wearing a nappy/diaper... i have Friday the 13th The Final Chapter battle damaged Jason :) but my favourite horror action figure is my Leatherface deluxe action figure by Neca.

Is the color in the original release a little closer to Richard Brooker's skin tone?

Contrary to what I had every reason to expect, given that they'd had the NES Jason, the retro cloth Jason Lives figure, the Jason Lives Ultimate figure, Leatherface Atari figure, Leatherface TCM Ultimate figure, Leatherface Retro Cloth dinner outfit and Leatherface Retro Cloth regular figures, not to mention the TCM 2 Leatherface Retro Cloth, many Terminator figures, Alien(s) figures, TMNT figures, etc., they NEVER got this figure at FYE, nor at Toys R Us, and that meant I was S.O.L. as far as finding it locally was concerned. They also never had the Freddy Krueger figures released in the past six months or so.
