There is more detail and paint on almost any NECA Predator than some entire waves of Legends.

A huge part of the hype is that mask and armor. It's made from the original movie monster design. When ya look up images you'll see. So paying homage to that alone was a pretty exciting deal. Plus, he amazing all aroubd! Haha I do hope they release an alternate head version!

The McFarlane figs are 20$ but they're unique sculpts ! Hasbro knows they can get away with being lazy I guess (-_-)

This figure really makes everyone wonder if Hasbro isn't ripping people off. To be completely honest, I'm not a fan of the design; I think it's too try-hard. However, I agree the figure has an AMAZING value & sculpt. More importntly, the engineering is very promising for the future. I cannot wait for more Predator releases of new designs/2.0 releases using all these new joints (although I do hope they improve the joints' tightness).

So the helmet is an homage to the original Predator suit which was made by FX legend Steve Johnson but wasn't used because it just looked crap and didn't work practically. But a lot of folks think that Johnson designed the suit, whereas in actual fact he was working from designs by another artist that director John McTiernan insisted on...

I absolutely love this figure. Having collected a sizable heap of NECA predator figures, the thing that stands out about this one is the QC. I have a full box of predators that can't be displayed because they turn to shit so quickly but this one was flawless. The paint, the new joints (most notably the ankles), the new materials. (The plastic is a lot nicer and softer than usual in areas where necessary which is so nice) So yes, most NECA predators are nice but this one is just that much better than the previous releases. Great video as usual though!

It's jarring how little you get with a ML compared to this and other Neca figs

If anyone is having trouble keeping the mask on or it won't fit, I highly recommend heating the inside of the mask, like really heated, with a blow dryer, then put it directly on to the face and holding it there until it hardens again, and no it doesn't wreck the paint! And it keeps the shape once removed too, then it the on and off like a charm!

No need to heat the mask, I recently purchased this figure, and the mask has to be put in the correct way to fit in, after you do it will remain still

I think the buzz about this figure is that it's the first predator that Neca have designed and created themselves from scratch, and they even wrote a backstory to shoehorn him into Yautja lore. He isn't pulled from a comic or a movie or anywhere else, and is almost totally unique. Almost. His helmet/mask is based on the original insectoid predator suit that was worn by Jean Claude van Damme... until both he and the suit were sacked due to impracticalities, and Kevin Peter Hall and Stan Winston were drafted in to save the movie. It's also Neca's 100th predator release, and can be unlocked with the included code as a bonus character in the PS4 game "Predator: Hunting Grounds".

Beta predator still sounds like a better figure than some marvel legends. Dope review Anthony. I haven't been keeping up with necca pred releases but I like this one a lot.

My local comic shop has this dude. Can't wait to pick him up. Neca killing it. Excited for the Feral as well

Beta Predator= no armor or weapons just love for the big dawg who keeps him safe at night 😆.

Looks excellent. Have only got the Ultimate Predator from the original film and its brilliant. Recently picked up the Neca Gremlins too, and very impressed by Neca in general

Looks like I'll be getting two of them instead of one overpriced Figma, my first Neca Predator at that too. How do Neca even get this awesome thing at that price point is beyond crazy. Totally sold on this review man.

Was mulling over getting this for a few weeks, then decided to purchase this a few days ago after I saw your review. Now that I have this on hand, I can easily say this is my favorite Predator figure out of my lot of preds (I don't have a sizable lot, just a few, well-selected ones). He looks very 'primal' :D Awesome figure.

I was super sad to hear that NECA is stopping their Godzilla line. I love my big G's from them and because they're cheaper than Monsterarts I can buy more of them! I have some other stuff from them too that I really enjoy! NECA does a pretty alright job!

Thank you so much for the "paper trick"...re: loose joints. Have a Neca Alien figure with a jacked foot joint. The foot fell off right out of the box. I was going to glue it but tried your method...and it works wonderfully. Cheers.

This is a gorgeous figure. Wow. The last one i bought was the king with the red cape but this is on my list .

Thinking about picking him up soon. Been playing his class in the hunting grounds game and its pretty damned fun.

Just bought mine and oh boy, he might be the best figure in my collection. He stands out really well and the accesories are awesome! Thanks for honest review and proffesionalism.

I love how it looks like the original concept design of the predator

I change the poses on my figures every so often. So sometimes a Predator will have a mask.. sometimes he won't. It's random.

Just preordered my copy from big bad toy store. First predator figure and I’m pretty hyped. I usually only collect sh figuarts, storm collectibles, and figma.

I love the predator line. I have a ton of them and I keep telling myself I'm not buying anymore but then they put stuff like this out so I keep buying lol. I should have this from BBTS tues

There is such hype around this figure, among other things, because the mask is based on the original Predator design. When Van Damme was supposed to play the Predator. The mask you didn't show in your video.

These predator figures are the best bang for your buck action figure out right now. I don't think it's even close

the hundredth? people like round numbers? the face mask is an Easter egg of the original Predator character design as well when it was Van Dam running around in an insect-like suit.

I got one and I love it I can’t believe how good the work is for only 30$

This is hands down the best neca predator. It’s such a shame that mine has super floppy legs and can’t stand up on his own feet...

Though you can fix loose joints with floor cleaner finish, it works. There's KZread videos showing before and after.

I actually didn’t realize it was a 100th Predator special till I fully pay attention to it.

Why is everyone just now talking about hasbro dooping you for years? I mean the bucky cap mold...but we buy them because who else is gonna make any comic character by the wave. i think part of the hype is that to the pred fans this one is special. Its not a comic/movie/game character or a Kenner tribute. Its an all new unique anniversary figure. Its just something we've never seen before. I mean I never really thought of prehistoric preds. You kinda always think of them being pretty high tech and that they just always been that way. I think its just payoff for all the years collecting them i guess. I know I'm super excited for it.

I think I found one of these at either Best Buy or Target for like, $40 Maybe it's just that Necas are more expensive in this part of the country. In fact, I don't think I've ever found one for less than $38 retail 🤷‍♂️ As far as the QotD goes: it depends on the way the figure looksーhow unique their face is, like some of the Lost Tribe membersーand whatever overall aesthetic I'm going for at the time. With this fig, I switch back and forth. The one issue I had with my Alpha was that his right pauldron kept popping off =(

It's cool because of the story behind it.

You could literally re-paint the new armored lost predator, just saying bc down to the armor is the same when I looked side by side except the yellow constructs of course. Just an idea.

Do think more people are excited about this one bc it’s a brand new body sculpt? Also it’s the 100th figure, too so maybe people want to get it bc it’s a milestone figure. Could also be bc it pays homage to the JCVD predator. I personally love it-

I know very little about predator other than watching the movies and actually paying attention to maybe one of them...but I bought this cuz it looks dope.

I’ve never really had a big interest in getting a predator figure until I seen this one. So I jumped at it when I seen it in target yesterday. Lol I totally agree, that face should never be covered.

I think people have just gotten tired of the constant reuse of bodies. So to see a whole new body is pretty exciting, especially since it looks like it's going to be used for the ultimate super predators from Predators

We get they all are incredible, butthis is very different especially if you're a predator fan. Bc it was suppose to be the original suit that was going to be in the film. His armor and bio mask known as the "amengi". Im a huge predator fan and this paticular predator out classes all the other preds in my opinion. So yeah its a big deal lol. Nice review but once again if youre a predator fan this is a big deal

I AGREE with you...NECA predators are absolutely killer. obviously the mass-production allows to produce some " failed" ones, like random eye, paint details or maybe a fragile joint. BUT, the prices¡¡¡..FOR THE JOB, accesories, and realism, neca predators are really really soft in how much they cost. i KNOW that marvel legends are based on comics mostly, but the truth is that pay ( in chile) 50 dollars for a marvel legends...??..nahh...the plastic is like the one used with toys for kids...neca predators are so realistic that they look like in certain point of the day will start to speak and walk xD. This alpha pretador is just badass....just look at the armor¡¡¡ ..reminds me of the falmer armor in skyrim ajajaja...i have purchased lasershot and ahab recently, and no doubts, absolutely fine pieces of work. the only complain that i have with neca predators are some joints..some of them are very easy to break :/

I always helmet my predator but that's because I'm into knights, robots and masks

I mean i love all my predators but this one just does it for me so well. My girl calls him my "teady bear" bc i keep him on my night-stand so he's the last thing i see when i go to bed lol. A figure this size with so much going on, he can pull off some amazing poses. His articulation and balance are out of this world, i can't recommend him strongly enough. And the poster he comes with with the checklist is super cool. Yeah, awesome figure, great review as always. Thanks and i hope you have a pleasant day...

Alpha comes with a pretty interesting back story as well. Comparatively, Alpha is like Kahless of the Klingons from Star Trek. If you are familiar with Kahless, you know what I'm talking about. The first real leader, unifier of the species. Also the Alpha's name is Kail. So, one can't help but wonder if that was Neca's intent to reference the Klingon's great hero/legend. This is a fantastic figure. I hope Neca continues doing them. A little worried, now that Disney has taken the reigns and handed it off to Marvel, partly. Hopefully they don't cancel Neca's line and have them released by Hasbro....... eww.

They are both great in theyre own right. Its hard to say which one is better as he talks in the video. Clan leader is an awesome piece bc of the old kenner line, plus the read up on the figure makes it even better. Same goes for alpha tho so it's just what you like better. For me both are great figures to have but if I had to choose one since I own both. Alpha seals the deal with me

100%. They all look the same (bearing colors mostly) and that helmet/armor is the magic. Look at the new Armored Lost Predator, nothing w/o those things....Lasershot more than any lol.

2 years later... Marvel Legends are 27-35 dollars...So in past time you could get this masterpiece for 3 more dollars than today's Darwin Marvel Legend...

I just got this guy on eBay for $38 xD Still... worth it. This is probably my favorite now -- and that's saying a lot, because I have some really badass Yautja figurines 😎 Yes, I am a nerd. I wanna tell you all that if you're buying Necas online, watch out. Don't buy any that are shipping from China, for several reasons -.-

This will sound weird but I took a masked head off a normal predator and put it on this body and I really liked the look I prefer classic masked look

Which Predator figure did you use for the masked head? Lots of different masks out there.

I love my neca predators with mask but at the sametime with their original head is great too. Most of my figures i would make them held their mask lol just cant have the funds to buy two to pose with mask and non mask. But yea I love the Alpha predator my top#1 out of what I have so far

In terms of price, showed my friend my Lost Predator and he asked how much it was, when I told him he was seriously shocked, he said if he had to guess he would have said £60.

Depends on the predator face whether I helmet or not. But with this guy, definitely no helmet.

I utterly hate marvel legends figures. Don't care for these predator figures much either. Seeing that action figure reviews content is dead ass of late. I've been checking these due to my wife wanting these figures. So thanks for having these up. Good figures or not to me. She digs them all. So thanks and keep rock'n.

I’m dying already! I saw the Lost Armored and could not leave it at Target. Then I get an email that the Alpha was back in stock online at Target and how could I not w/ a 25% deal, down we go....both some of the best from NECA for sure.

Great review Anthony! This guy looks dope! Any tricks on how to fix loose NECA hips? I know a little super glue or floor polish works on joints but not sure about hips. I bet he'd look good sitting on that throne they made. Can't wait for Beta Predator, lol.
