Thank you! My d7 has been out of commission for over a year now. The lidar spins after swapping the motor. And a huge thanks for the tip about the cd drive motor. Interestingly, I never saw a 3000 error, just a "reboot me" message. And luckily my ribbon cable was intact. We'll see how long it lasts... At least I have a couple extra dvd drives lying around somewhere if I need to do it again :)

I bought a RF-300FA-12350 DVD player motor from ebay (3,99€). I cut of the old motor from the plug and soldered the red wire to the black one. Works fine. Thanks for the video!

Thanks very much! following the change of the engine on a D5. everyone left for the better. of course for the first reassembly I was not in the right direction of rotation... after inversion all is ok

Perfect, I also had an old CD-player that had a motor that fit perfect. Including cable! Just to plug in and run. Now the D7 is working again:)

Thanks for the video. My ribbon cable is fried. I removed it by gently pulling it. I don’t know to properly install a new one. Is there a catch/release button on each end; should I pry something or just push it in place? Appreciate your help.

I do have the very same situation. Broken cable, even looked kind of burned.. Bought new one on ebay as well for way too much money and replaced it :-) and still doesn't work. Figured out today the lidar motor does not spin, but with a slight push it starts rotating. So the motor seems to have some trouble. So will likely replace it as well, but I will need to get some overpriced one from somewhere as it seems. I am not that lucky to still have some old CD player around :-) Not sure where else to look for some matching 12 V motor. Maybe I do find someone with a broken Neato D3 D5 D7 or Vorwerk VR 200 and 300, they all should share the same motor

What kind of screwdriver did you use to opened it?

I believe it was "same side" or "forward". Just take the cable off, unfold it and if the connections are on the same side then it is "forward. Search Ebay for "Pitch 0.5mm 20 Pin FFC/FPC Flexible Flat Cable Wire 20624 80C 60V Width 10.5mm"

Where did you find the motor?

Hello, great job. I found a similar motor but with a different connector at the end. I have no idea where and what i should buy to change connector. Any ideas to help a newbie ? 🙏

cut the connector off the old one and solder it on the new one

Hello! I have exact same error; I bought the motor in Amazon, made the swap and "worked" for 15 minutes, then motor blew again. Now, I have new motor and ribbon cable. Would you help me to know how exactly I need to change this cable? I guess is a basic thing to do, but my little to none electronic experience is making this a hard task 😂. Any guidance or help is really appreciated!!!

I dont seem to have any voltage to the contact of the motor, so the motor may still be working...? Does anyone know what voltage to expect?

When is the lidar supposed to start spinning? As soon as you press the button or only while moving?

Yes. There is about a 3 seconds delay but pretty much as soon as you press the button.

Всем привет. У моего зверя вылезла ошибка 3000. Для ремонта необходимо: отвертка торкс т10, маленькая отверточка плюсовая, моторчик из под сд привода, который открывает деку, шлейф-лента 35 см 20 пин. Обратите внимание на полярность при подключения моторчика. На d7 лидар должен вращаться против часовой стрелки. На сборку ушло 1 час и 4 доллара ( из которых - отвертка на 2 доллара).

I replaced the o ring, motor is good and lidar spins but continues to stop and start. Neato states that it is LDS-miss- packets. Also the ribbon is in good shape. This has me stumped any ideas??

If it spins then I would say that the motor and ribbon cable are both good. when you say stop and start are you referring to the lidar stopping and restarting to spin on its own or the entire machine? if you are referring to the lidar that the culprit is probably the belt. Maybe the new oring you are using is too loose?
