Nearly broke my leg at Motocross!! 🫣

Спорт

Who wants to see what happened?!? Watch to the end 🫣 Riding motocross in March in the UK... lucky to even get any riding with how much rain we've had as most tracks are pretty much under water right now...
We had a day sliding in the mud at Weedon MX.... and we sure did a lot of sliding!!! 🤣 I wasn't sure the EE5 bike would even cope with this, as it does't usually cope with thick mud building up on it... but it actually surprised me with how well it did through this.
Harleys crash at the end, where he is trapped by the bike. His main upset was being trapped, not that he was badly hurt... the angle his leg was at when I approached made me throw my own bike down and get to him but the thick mud made it so hard to move at all. Thankfully when I got to him I heard his main panic was that he was stuck... so I asked him to help me by lifting his other foot off and we 'unstuck' him from the bike together.
After a hug and a check he was actually ok we went back out for more laps... and we were having so much fun we forgot the time and had the marshall come tell us it was time to go home as the track had closed 🤣

Oh so muddy, oh so close.. ahh poor little guy. At least he will have a cool memory of some much needed real world practice. Can't be stadium style arena's all the time. I bet he picked it up and kept going.

Yes you are so right!!!! If we only ever took him to perfectly graded, packed in tracks he'll never truly learn the skills of handling the bike. This day taught him so much - and although he didn't get it back up himself this time (he was stuck) he did get it up another time off camera which really impressed me!!!!

You Rock Harley 💪🏼 My son is just getting into riding, what full face helmet would you recommend for my boys 3rd birthday? Thanks in advance, we are new to this, but want him to be safe!

Best advice? One that fits!!! If you can... light as possible. For motocross the helmets can be pretty big and heavy, due to the additional safety they provide. Measure his head from the forehead round to the back... most kids age 3 will probably be around the 45cm-50cm. Then look on the product spec of the helmets for the weight... I've heard Fox have a new kids range out thats meant to be lighter!
