There are many cases of NDE that describe hell and heaven as described in Islam. Paul, you can reach out to Abbas Mozoon, he is a muslim researcher in NDE and very informed on the topic, he has created a TV series on this, he can also provide a comprehensive view.

Oooohhh MY GODDD!!!! 😱😱😱 I don't know if this Dr has become a Muslim... But the description he gave about the portal and butterflies and colours are soooo consistent with Quraan and Hadith!!! It reminded me of the verses 14-17 of Surah Annajm.... And Prophet's hadith of his description of the night journey.... The tree is surrounded with ‘golden butterflies’. [Tirmidhi] He further said: ‘many a colour had covered it which I do not know (i.e. the colours of this tree were indescribable)’. [Muslim] Subhankallahumma ya rabbana...

@@charlievaughan1308 The prophet peace be upon him had proofs. The Quran is proof of the prophethood and the prophet (pbuh) is proof of the Divine origin of the Quran. It is impossible for a single human let alone an illiterate one to produce a book like the Quran. It is also impossible for a human to achieve what the prophet (pbuh) achieved (wisdom, conquest, miracles and prophecies). While in the time of the Revelation, people accused the prophet (pbuh) to be a magician, a liar or to be posessed, modern day "scholars" who reject the divine origin of the Quran do the same by either speculating that the Quran had many autors or that it was not preserved. What they fail to notice is that they confirm what the Quran says about its inimitability. Here's how I know the prophet peace be upon him was not lying: I read the Quran and the biography of the prophet and I accepted it. You need to ask yourself one thing, is it possible that humans produced something like the Quran which still puzzle every scholar and has been a mystery for the last 1400 years? The answer is no. Read about the story of the prophet with open heart and decide for yourself. Allah clearly tells us in the Quran that there is no compulsion in religion and that whomever wants to believe, believes and whomever wants to disbelieve disbelieves and none believes unless Allah's wills it. So people need to be sincere in their quest for truth and they will reach it God willing. I hope you find the truth and may Allah guide you.

I don't believe Paul was necessarily agreeing with all his points, I believe his position was to host and let the guest speak and find snippets of parallels. I would have loved to have heard about more scientific studies on the subject. I could not draw the same conclusion about the guest's evidence about reincarnation based off what visualised, I mean his choice to comeback when he heard his son's voice does not allude to reincarnation as opposed to staying in that realism but overall, his experience was very detailed and fascinating to hear. @@Learn_Quranwithme I'll make a few assumptions prior to replying to your comment: 1) that you're a brother in Islam, 2) that you wrote this comment out of sincere concern, and 3) that you will read my reply to you with the same assumptions towards me. First, and foremost, there's nothing except by the force, strength, and will of God [Allah subhanahu wa ta'aala] لا حول ولا قوة إلا بالله، ما شاء الله لا قوة إلا بالله. Second, the shaytan has no authority or power over humans except within the limits granted by God which the shaytan himself will ascertain on Judgement Day (وما كان لي عليكم من سلطان إلاّ أن دعوتكم فاستجبتم لي) as stated in Surah "Ibrahim". Third, NDE as a whole is not a fully known or comprehensible phenomenon to us, maybe we have some clinical knowledge about the bodily processes involved; however, we have no idea what happens on the spiritual level. Hence, NDE belongs to the category of ghayb (hidden) الغيب. The only knower of ghayb is Allah subhanahu wa ta'aala علام الغيوب، عالم الغيب والشهادة. Therefore, I ask you so humbly to not state whether NDE is from shaytan or not, because neither you nor I know enough to state such things in public that may shape others' opinions. Our best case scenario is that we acknowledge that we do not know and state Allahu 'aalam (God knows best) الله أعلم. Fourth, NDE like anything during this lifetime may be fitna فتنة, a tool by which some will be guided to the straight path, and some others will be misguided away from it and go astray. الله يضل من يشاء ويهدي من يشاء. What is a reason for someone's guidance is misguidance for another. This is how this lifetime (dunia) works. There are people whose belief in afterlife and the metaphysical will be ignited by NDE and they become eager to fix their life and seek istiqama استقامة, while others are completely misguided taking such experience that death is a beautiful thing or that it will be peaceful and rosy for them with nothing to worry about-- of course forgetting that NDE is not actual death -- and falling completely into kufr كفر until such time they go through the real experience where angels are dragging their souls painfully out of their bodies. So, it all depends.... May God guide us all to the straight path wa Allahu 'aalam والله أعلم . Assalamualaikum wa rahmatu Allah السلام عليكم ورحمة الله

It's important to put the realm of NDEs in it's rightful place: life after death but BEFORE JUDGEMENT DAY. This is called Barzakh. There should therefore be no comparisons with what scripture describes on that judgement day because that is a much bigger event where the world stands still and material life as we know it comes to a forced stop. With Barzakh, both worlds continue existing in parallel.

Hence the reason why non believers thrive in this world, and continue receiving his mercy in Barzakh, as his justice will have its time on judgement day. Fascinating! Just sneek peek into Barzakh? may be I presume. I had that experience upto the light part not to the valley as he explains in details as I lay on OT table, when they administered anesthesia for a procedure in the hospital when I was a child of 4 yrs old, my parents told they were panicking because after the procedure was over when docs were trying to get me regain my senses, I was way too late, which by then I should have regained my sense and I wasn't getting my sense back for a long time and they tried to administer sweets and glucose in my mouth and struggled it took almost 3 hrs. Finally I came out from the effect of anestehsia. Later when they asked me how I was feeling do I feel.any pain or sore and I told them I saw bright warm white light right above my chest when my eyes were closed, as I lay on the OT table. I still remember that moment I was around 4 yrs old then and even though I am 52 now still it is vivid to me. Ofcourse I had no clue what was going on then never thought seriously about it as such but when I hear people relating their episodes like this I takes me back to my little experience I had. So that was it.

After Paul asks his very good question regarding existence of hell in major world religions, including Christianity and Islam, at 49:58, Dr Alexander says the prophet Jesus (pbuh) and Muhammed (pbuh) were people who were "handing out a lot of pain and suffering to others" and that's why they (pbuh) talked about hell... wow. And Paul, amazingly you just took that without challenge. Couple weeks ago you argued quite severely with Stephen Meyer on how he did not give due credit to Muslims contribution to science, yet hear, Dr Alexander accused prophets of God with such atrocity, and you just let it go. I'm guessing you missed it. This Dr Alexander is a good seller. He is clearly well prepared to questions like these, so he has answer ready to go, without taking a breath. This brings me to my other point. Dr Alexander says we should believe and trust him due to his experience which lasted a brief moment. And he is clearly trying to monetize it by selling books. Not to mention his partner also is in the business of making money. Let's see how prophets of God transact themselves. They do not sell books or charge money for their service or advice. They certainly don't have "partners" who have businesses selling meditation music... They provide guidance to their people, from their heart with compassion for free. Because, as mentioned in Qur'an, they will get their efforts worth from God Himself. My last point, this is not "theology", so I don't know why this interview is in Blogging Theology. Dr Alexander is clearly advertising "new age spiritualism" which is regarding as deviation of utmost severity by religious leaders from all people of the Book.

I respectfully disagree. I have read all his books, and seen his podcasts, and also in this video Dr. Alexander did not say Jesus and Muhammed were people who were handing out a lot of pain and suffering to others. He was saying that what he learned in his NDE, was that any HUMAN (but not the holy ones Jesus or Muhammed) who handed out a lot of pain and suffering to others on earth, would be able to feel that in their own afterlife review from the perspective of the person they hurt, and that would be hellish or extremely uncomfortable. And they would learn from it and become a higher soul through that learning.

Thank you again for this and your other stimulating talks. Although I can neither accept nor reject the truth (perhaps validity is a better word?) of his experience, the idea of time (and so much else) wasted on the debate and competition surrounding organized religions and simple universal righteousness of the Golden Rule ring true with me, personally. Logic, not NDE brings me to the conclusion that divinity must exist outside of space and time. And it makes sense to me that grace may be available without allegiance to any dogma, ancient or modern.

I respect how you feel about "logic" and I hope it does bring you "to the conclusion that divinity must exist outside of space and time." However I do think that awareness or belief in God may be perceived through various ways, including NDE, academic study, spiritual experience, and yes logic too. By the way, I really like when you said "it makes sense to me that grace may be available without allegiance to any dogma..." I'm not sure what you mean by "allegiance" but I believe God understands His creation ( including mankind ) and He does welcome us with "grace." That was one reason Jesus came to earth... to show us God's grace and love. Peace

@@chuckhillier4153 Thanks. I kind of thought that was what you meant by "allegiance" but I wanted to make sure. And I do understand your perception of religions because I also struggle with the idea that each religion claims to hold the truth. Whether it be Islam or Christianity or whatever, the claim of "one path to grace" is confusing to me. In fact, Jesus Himself claimed that He was "the Way, the truth and the life." Although there must be some objective truth regarding God, why is it that individuals within these various religions choose to accept that their own "dogma" is necessarily the objective truth? How can various Holy Scriptures in different religions influence believers to accept and approve "allegiance to any dogma" ? It seems like an "allegiance to any dogma" requires the belief/acceptance that certain scriptures are authoritative. Does the Islamic claim of "preservation" provide strong support for those who accept Islam as the "one path to grace"? It seems like it does because so many people base their beliefs on this "preservation." To me, the "hiddenness" of God seems to magnify the problem of the claim that other religions are false. Some people claim that God is not hidden for those who study and do research. But often the research may simply lead to "allegiance" to a dogma and not necessarily to any objective truth that other religions are false. Maybe that was why professor Alexander said that this earthly life is "vague" and "murky." I had never heard anyone say such before. But what does it all mean? If this life is "vague" and "murky", can any religion claim it's dogma is NOT vague or murky? What do you think?

@@johnbrzykcy3076 By "grace", I mean pure. As in "died in a state of grace", acceptable to heaven. To be in the condition that various religions say one should be in so as to ascend to heaven. Some say they achieve grace through confession. Others by some ceremony, others by prayer, and so on. Christiani sects, for instance, says one must not only live by the teachings of Christ but must believe (hold allegiance) as well. Islam seems to hold that you can live a life as virtuous as God would want, but you must be Muslem to be in a state of grace. Through history, religion has been a team sport with brutal consequences. Wars, jihads, inquisitions, colonization, in order to satisfy human nature that feeds self-interest but done in the name of religious teams. If a Buddhist lives a life precisely as Jusus or Mohamed prescribed, why can s/he not be in a state of grace? Makes no sense. Is actually corrupt, it seems to me. I'm still learning about Islam. So let’s list some of what is in common between Islam and NDEs: the soul (the human spiritual part) leaves the body It can see/hear/smell/sense everything The body is in fact a limitation (a filter), so your senses will be more developped after leaving it. Then you enter the ‘spiritual world’. This world is full of spiritual beings: angels (made of light), djinns or daemons, dead people, … You notice clearly that everything (including the physical world) is gouverned by God, who is one, in control of everything, and source of everything. God is far beyond anything humans can imagine You will be your own judge (the Quran for example says ‘there is no better judge for you than yourself’). Note that in most NDEs there is no judgement, but the reason may simply be that (real) judgement comes only after you finish all your life here. 8. There is an infinity of ‘destinations/places’ humans can go in the afterlife. 9. Light is very important in the spiritual world. In NDEs: people see light everywhere, encounter beings of light, … In Islamic teachings: God is the light of the heaven and earth, all angels are made of light, the rank of every human is related to his light (with the highly ranked ones having more intense light emanating from them), rooms, chairs and everything may be made of light, … 10. the happiness/ bliss/ love /possibilities /dimensions in the paradise world are beyond human imagination (and related to the person light). But the hell side is also very very awful. 11. In the spiritual world, concepts (like for instance: love, kindness, …) can become real as earth&sea in our physical world. 12. The soul seems to have a body-like envelope, visible to other souls. 13. Everything we do in this life is recorded in details, and we will see it in the afterlife. In NDEs people have in many cases a detailed review of their life. And the Quran said: So whoever does an atom's weight of good will see it, And whoever does an atom's weight of evil will see it. There are a lot of other common points i noticed between islamic teaching and what is mostly reported in NDEs … Now the NDEs don’t tell exactly what are the criteria of going to heaven or hell. NDEs indicate only that both (kind of) places exist. Especially, that the experiencers forget a lot of their experiences.

Watching this episode made me emotional and made me remember many many verses of the Holy Qura'an and many many Hadeeth by prophet Muhammad Peace be upon him when they describe the unseen world and the hearafter. For example, In minute 06:44 *Dr* . *Alexander explains how is the unseen the world or the hearafter is the Real life* , *and the holy Qura'an says* : "What is the life of this world but amusement and play? but verily the Home in the Hereafter,- that is life indeed, if they but knew." *Qura'an* 29:64 In minute 07:28, *Dr* . *Alexander speaks about millions of butterflies* , *and The messenger of Allah says in the Hadeeth of the night journey that he saw golden butterflies* / *moth covering Sidratul Almuntaha tree and an explained colors covering it* . It is narrated on the authority of Abdullah (b. Umar) that when the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) was taken for the Night journey, he was taken to Sidrat-ul-Muntaha, which is situated on the sixth heaven, where terminates everything that ascends from the earth and is held there, and where terminates every- thing that descends from above it and is held there. (It is with reference to this) that Allah said in the (Qura'an) :" When that which covers covered the lote-tree" ( Qura'an 53:16 ). He (the narrator) said: (It was) *gold moths* ( has colors) . He (the narrator further) said: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) was given three (things or orders): he was given five prayers, (he was given) the concluding verses of Sura al-Baqara, and remission of serious Sins for those among his Ummah who associate not anything with Allah. *Sahih Muslim* In minute 09:15, *Dr* . *Alexander speaks about the golden rule which is written in the fabric of the universe* . *He said that it is* " *treat others in the way you like to be treated* ". And The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "No one of you becomes a true believer until he likes for his brother what he likes for himself". *Bukhari and Muslim* In minute 13:12 *Dr* . *Alexander speaks about awareness* , *which is the many part of our spirit* , *as something gifted from God* . *And Allah says* in the Qura'an *about the story of creating Adam* : "after I have shaped him (Adam) and breathed of My spirit (I created) into him, fall down prostrate before him." *Qura'an* 38:72 I think his interpretation of what happened to him by reincarnation needs to be clarified, because in my opinion what happened to him only explain that there is another unseen world or another life which is the hearafter, that's it. Also, his NDE experience was only on the heavenly experience. He did not experience the hellish experience while others have experienced it. Therefore, he cannot dismisses it because he did not experience it.

I have only watched half of the episode but given the content so far and the comment section, i think some points needs to be cleared up: TLDR; our epistemology is not dependant upon experiences instead we have the knowledge first and use that knowledge to explain experiences, not the other way around. 1. this wasn't what i was expecting i.e. i was expecting more of scientific stats from different studies on these experiences rather than his own experience in so much details, he started describing the reality in new terms, it sounds like yet another new age religion and the guy was evangelizing a lot about his shallow beliefs. 2. the start was maybe good if what he said is correct i.e. scientific studies on such topics point towards a non-material reality (while we already believe it and no proof required but for dawah to materialists this maybe a good evidence) and probably the only take away from the whole presentation. which was i think the goal of Paul for bringing this guest. 3. people from all backgrounds have spiritual experiences and from what he described, it does seem like NDE are spiritual experiences than actually being near death. also his description also seemed close to how people feel with psychedelics etc. they describe similar stuff of entities, higher consciousness surreal experiences etc. 4. from Islamic point of view, we can't deny such experiences completely. but we also don't know what he says is true and what is not. but we do have a way of finding out what is true and what is not. i.e. whatever is clearly inline with Islamic teachings, we may affirm it with caveats but we are not required to believe in any such claims, whatever goes against Islam, we have to reject that and about other things, we should try to avoid affirming as we can't be sure about anything of unseen reality. 5. it is not a good idea to attack Paul, while the video clearly has a lot of kufr, Paul also does bring Christian scholars etc as well. at best this video isn't probably for many Muslims especially those who are not very well versed in deen.

In a 2013 investigation of Alexander's story and medical background, Esquire magazine reported that before the publication of Proof of Heaven, Alexander had been terminated or suspended from multiple hospital positions, and had been the subject of several malpractice lawsuits, including at least two involving the alteration of medical records to cover up a medical error. He settled five malpractice suits in Virginia within a period of ten years. Esquire also found what it said were discrepancies with regard to Alexander's version of events in the book. Among the discrepancies, was that Alexander had written the cause of his coma was bacterial meningitis, despite his doctor telling the reporter that he had been conscious and hallucinating before being placed in a medically induced coma. In a statement responding to the criticism, Alexander maintained that his representation of the experience was truthful and that he believed in the message contained in his book. He also claimed that the Esquire article "cherry-picked" information about his past to discredit his accounts of the event.] Proof of Heaven was also criticized by scientists, including by neuroscientist Sam Harris, who described Alexander's near death experience a (NDE) account on his blog as "alarmingly unscientific", and that claims of experiencing visions while his cerebral cortex was shut down demonstrated a failure to acknowledge existing brain science. He noted that DMT, a neurotransmitter of the brain, as well as Ketamine, an anaesthetic commonly used in the management of neurological conditions, are common and more plausible means of such strong hallucinatory experiences. He added that while neurosurgeons need to understand its anatomy, they do not need to study how the brain functions, unlike neurologists. Neurologist and writer Oliver Sacks agreed with Harris, and argued that Alexander had failed to recognize that the experience could have been the result of his cortex returning to full function at the outset of his coma, rather than a supernatural experience. Salam brother Paul, and thanks for this fresh topic with an interesting guest. About the guest, his doubts about the purpose of eternal punishment, which he said he find not understandable, is very well addressed by Jeffrey Lang his famous presentation The purpose of life. Mr. Lang said at one point of its presentation that despite its love for his dog, a funny lovely one, the dog would never stand comparison with his children. Because the dog has a limit between him and a human, whereas a child while growing can reach more and more the state of understanding of its adult parents. As well Mr. Lang emphasizes that men are growing, either closer to their creator, or to the opposite. So as well as a parent differentoates between a dog and a child (and I talk not of evil here), also we see not what sense it would make for the Supreme Being to draw next to him creatures that have proved unfit to moral growth. Anyway, I'm just summarising quickly. For me in conclusion, the guest seemingly assumes that human are complete beings ready at any time, in any shape or form, for meeting greater that him. Which I think wrong, like Mr. Lang (if I read him well enough of course).

If you prefer evil, you have made a choice. Cow dung is a horrible environment but there is creatures who prefer that. If someone was only decreasing in morality, without countermeasures, he would eventually end very uggly at the horizon of time. For the distance between the Creator and a creature that didn't use his free-will to grow in the way pointed out by God with is a way of similarity according to some of its attribute, I think that it makes sense that this distance should be at least as big as the distance between you and your dog. For example in term of literacy level, what hope would you have to have a discussion on this matter with your dog? At least the dog here is not limiting itself by choice. But if you are willing to meet the Most-Kind, shouldn't you start to climb this hill by this side, as well as by the many other side's that you can only be conscious of if you start being conscious of your God and the challenges requested by Him to you to beat. - Other example I can see would be this: what are the chances that you make it to the race at the stadium just by walking randomly by the tracks or sitting in the grass around?

While I can not question the authenticity of someone's own NDE, what I find really interesting is that how many of them explains everything as if they were actually talking about a real life scenario when they were physically in coma state. I believe it's possible but we can't simply verify it and that's where the problem is. Another interesting issue is I tend to hear all these NDE stories are "mostly" coming from the people of Christian faith. What possibly could go wrong with people from other faiths?! It would be interesting to listen to their stories as well. Hopefully to find a common ground perhaps. Interesting episode. Thank you Paul.

Intriguing, however thinking along these lines of an afterlife experience which will be different and totally subjective from person to person is absolutely NOT the way to go as he asserts pertaining to leaving religiousity and leaning to this totally subjective experience. This is A human beings perspective of a glimpse into the afterlife which in all due fairness was a blip of understanding of its entirety and not to be taken literally and each person will have their own unique experience of it. Appreciate him for sharing his experience, it was fascinating and it was equally fascinating to listen to his experience as he goes through his "book of deeds" as explained in Quran and each soul will get to the adams weight of good they did and an adams weight of bad they did as per Quran and that all of our deeds are being recorded and will be played back to us like a movie as per Quran. These were fascinating to find out but not a shock because we know the book of Allah is true and final. May Allah give us good lives filled with good deeds ameen

I would present bias then, someone in my country has experience NDE and he said : Reincarnation DO EXIST but it was an exception rather than general ... *for Children below 3 years old they get privilege to do 3 things : 1.they can choose to die and born again or 2.they can choose to delay and continue suffering another week or month and then die and born again 3.they can choose to die and serving God Almighty *for Children 3-12 years old reincarnation is up to God but usually there is no reincarnation and they get food from tree, every children get their own tree *for People 12 years and above reincarnation is up to God but usually there is no reincarnation, they got food from market. There are 2 kinds of market : 1.For muslim (it seems so) open at the time of 5 daily prayer and must recite random surah from Koran, the sort one would be just fine to buy food 2.For any religion open all the time, but those that do not want to give charity in their life will be forbidden to enter the market, the result is the same image like that you see of mal-nutrition kids in Africa ... the most dangerous thing is if you act and behave like certain animal for example greedy you would end up being forced by angel to enter a grown up monkey ... a human spirit in a monkey body ... damn ...

With all due respect to Dr Eben's experience; All NDE are reflections of the experiencers' perceptions regarding their understanding of existence it is a kind of their interpretations thus they are subjective and outcomes may bind them. The thing bothering me in NDE is the nearly never changing conclusion: unconditional love excluding the heavenly guidance as we define revelation. It is similar to this unholy new age teachings. No earthly responsibilities ,no guidelines, no punishment whatsoever. Then why all the messengers and banner bearers of the truth suffered, sacrificed everything they own, should everyting is simple as Dr Eben describes. Now the question is; Are these NDE really a divine occurance or the devil is in the detail..?

Good point. If some experience a hellish NDE then it's simply experiences that he cannot rule out by not having the chance of experiencing it and just reasoning it through his own experience would be naturally a biased approach. Another major flaw/contradiction is, if there isn't a double edged outcome/judgement/punishment in accordance to someone deeds/actions, then there would be no actual reason to be "loving and caring" to begin with, which is what he is calling for and the core of his NDE journey from his point of view. It would be baseless and meaningless in core, some kind of a utopian world were everyone will live happily ever after without any regard to his past wordily life.

In one instance, Alexander altered his operative report because he believed the surgery had diminished the patient's symptoms. I wonder if that experience was real, would the natural response to it manifest through writing books and composing meditation music (coming up with a new religion) in conflict with what billions of people believe, or perhaps the natural response should have been manifested through contemplating about what religions teach about the subject... especially that the experience itself as reported provides no concrete information about the unseen other than it exists, wouldn't one be curious to learn about it after believing in it? I don't think anyone should waste time listening to non-trustworthy reports about the unseen... definitely not support such new religions through buying books. Just because most people nowadays don't believe in the unseen is not a good enough reason to resonate with just about anyone who does, no matter how silly their argument/belief is, we have better sources that are REVEALED to us through trustworthy PROPHETS, which is enough.

Interesting topic, unfortunately there is a lot of rationalising away the idea of eternal hell in the afterlife, using the atheistic argument, why would a loving God put some people in hell for eternity for a finite of evil actions. God explains the reason why that is the case for some people in the Qur'an. Qur'an 6:27-31. 27.If you could only see, when they are made to stand before the Fire, how they will say, ‘If only we could be sent back, we would not reject the revelations of our Lord, but be among the believers.’ 28. No! The truth they used to hide will become all too clear to them. Even if they were brought back, they would only return to the very thing that was forbidden to them-they are such liars! 29. They say, ‘There is nothing beyond our life in this world: we shall not be raised from the dead.’ 30. If you could only see, when they are made to stand before their Lord, how He will say, ‘Is this not real?’ They will say, ‘Yes indeed, by our Lord.’ He will say, ‘Then taste the torment for having disbelieved.’ 31. Lost indeed are those who deny the meeting with their Lord until, when the Hour suddenly arrives, they say, ‘Alas for us that we paid no regard to this!’ They will bear their burdens on their backs. How terrible those burdens will be! 32. The life of this world is nothing but a game and a distraction; the Home in the Hereafter is best for those who are aware of God. Why will you [people] not understand?

My knowledge is very little to make comments but i have watched many nders telling their experience on youtube, these are reported mostly by people who left their body under accidental circumstances like RTAs, Drowning, under GA etc and majority found it very pleasant and thus they conclude that there is no judgement thus no hell. I feel that it might be because from Islamic perspective people who die accidentally are treated as "shaheed/ martyr" and thus their treatment is totally different from an average soul. Generalizing that to every soul would be taking too much liberty. Some might disagree that non-muslims cant be martyrs but i believe any person who has not been preached Islam but believes in God and does good then seems very possible they are counted as muslims by Allah like people of the cave anyway thts another debate. Allah knows best. Point is most nders undermine religion. I believe what they experience is true but it is very specific to that person i reckon.

Hey Paul... Dr Eben Alexander said "In fact, what a Near Death Experience shows us is this world, in these bodies, that's vague, murky, dreamlike..." I find that very interesting but I wonder why would God have created our life in such a way? Maybe it's some kind of test that seems vague to us. Maybe that's why we "see through a glass darkly" as the New Testament says. Thanks so much for this discussion. Peace to you....

@@johnbrzykcy3076 Well there's two parts to this equation: *No. 1* deals with whether the crucifixion of Jesus (upon whom be peace & blessings) was an actual historical event of undisputed occurrence in the distant past? *No. 2* deals with the Salvific value that Christians and Christianity has come to attach & attribute to the alleged event, irrespective of whether it was an actual historical reality or a metaphorical one? Islamic teaching does indeed strongly negate both the validity of the actual event itself, as well as the Salvific value that has been imputed to it - to tackle the 1st part of the problem, I suggest watching a 4 part series on EF-Dawah's playlist called: *The Historicity of the Crucifixion* . To understand just a tiny snap-shot of some of the problems that the 2nd part presents, when viewed from within the Islamic paradigm, I suggest watching a recent 2 part discussion on the channel Dawah-Wise called: *Does God Forget* ? with Mansur and 2 Christians.
