NDPH Aware Survey
Episode 158: New Daily Persistent Headache (NDPH) is a daily, unremitting headache that comes on very suddenly. NDPH can be a particularly frustrating headache disorder as it is characteristically difficult to treat. It is also a rare headache classification that we know very little about.

Good job Alan! Thanks a lot!
I have had a constant right sided headache for 45 years. I haven't been to a neurologist in years because they were never able to do anything for me. Complementary things helped reduce the intensity of the headache to eventually make it manageable and tolerable, but it is still there and fluctuates in intensity. Given how unfamiliar neuro's are with NDPH I think you should allow people who don't have a formal diagnosis of NDPH but who meet the basic criteria of the condition to take the survey.
Great presentation.The first question -- what is NPDH? -- might be better answered by Mr. Kaplan who experiences them.

33 years with ndph, I tried everything. HELP!!

I'm on several medications, they reduce the severity for me. High dose Amitriptyline and high dose gabapentin. The two did not do anything separately but when they put me on both at the same time I saw improvement. AVOID TOPAMAX. I nearly died (at my own hands), it is notorious for terrible terrible terrible side effects. It's hard to find a doctor that even knows about NDPH. No neurologist diagnosed it until I finally ended up at the Mayo clinic lol.
