Oliseh made me fall in love with defensive midfield but I watched Mikel and I would not choose any DM over Mikel rn. Ndidi doesn't even come close. In fact, I watched Mikel to the point that I patterned my game, as a DM, after him. Look at his composure, his ball usage, his physicality and passes. He's way ahead of Ndidi though but I get what you mean since we are talking of the national team.

I have always avoided comparing players as everyone has their own opinion. But Ndidi is quite a good DM and Mikel is in his own class

It depends on the coach plans if you want to play defensive you can go for ndidi, but if you want to control the midfield with ball I will play mikel for sure

Good opinion but Oliseh has a coloured mind against Mikel and would not agree to have seen what you see, it would take the bite off his criticism of Mikel.

Oliseh was better than everyone we have mentioned except Okocha. Mikel was the most disciplined on the pitch. More than any of the others, but he was ordinary in comparison to Oliseh and Okocha.

Mikel Does not shot often great passer of the ball any day not aggressive but get the job done but okocha is ahead for offensive midfielder

Okocha and oliseh were miles ahead of mikel. In terms of assists, free kicks, vision general ball progression. e.g oliseh created the assist that won us the first nations cup away from home. oliseh came from the bench to unlock senegalese defence and so many others. Okocha bailed Nigeria out several times with his set play specialty, these are clutch players mikel can never match up to

Yes I did and I would put him in 4th before Okocha or 5th after Okocha, his work rate and discipline is world class.

I love Oliseh the player but there is an underlying hatred in his analysis of Mikel. I urge anyone to go watch Oliseh announcement of Yaya Toure as APOTY in 2013 at the expense of Mikel. There is no iota of objectivity in his analysis.

Ndidi can't lace Mikel's boots. Oliseh doesn't know what he's talking about. But then again, Oliseh was never a brilliant manager so he wouldn't really know great players even if they stood right in front of him.

Okocha is better than mikel obi but I must say not by much. Both fantastic players and I do agree that Mikel was more of a team player

Oliver is a clown. I don't see him rank among the elite coaches. His idea of football is zero. Mikel read the game, a better passer on the ball, and control the midfield. Ndidi is nowhere near Obi's quality
