Tried to catch a Audi R8, sadly the below freezing temps and gravel kept the Miata from showing its true pace. Doubt it would have done much against an R8 anyways.

@@GoDriveMX5 You had a better car than him. R8 is great for tracks, but it’s too powerful for road in my opinion.

@@gliderfs621 Imo R8 v8 is nowhere close to too much power for the road. If anything, it's a bit slow depending on the road.

I have a very fond memory of chasing a then new Acura NSX in my NA Miata through the back roads on the east coast. He was so pissed that he couldn’t get away from me on that twisty road, i was just feet from his bumper, threatening to pass him on the inside of the corners (had their been room). We finally hit a straight road after 20-30 minutes and he went around a line of cars over a double yellow to escape! Memory from way back in 1991….

About 6k feet. Lowest I've had it is 5k so I'm not really sure.
I would have backed out just because of all the rocks hitting the car
Mx5s aren't quick but they seem quick as you just point and squirt them into corners.

I’d choose the Miata over that Audi everyday even if money wasn’t a concern. He might be faster but you were definitely had more fun.

I've driven that car and it's debatable, it's V8 with the gated manual is plenty of fun. Just a different type of fun. Also has a shocking amount of corner exit grip that's fun to play with.

You know, miata is not a fast car. but a fun car especially on curvy road
I was just enjoying the video and I literally shouted what a Dick at 3:33 ! Now I am scared that what if one day I am just simply enjoying driving in my Miata and someone chase and pressure me just because I am driving a sport car ?

He literally stopped and waited, we had a good chat after and went on several drives together. If you ever feel uncomfortable with someone behind you just use one of the many pulloffs for letting faster traffic by.
