That's really interesting that they were given the note about being too familiar. Definitely one "criticism" I have seen is that the relationship between the two didn't seem to build and was just there...and I can see this is a by-product of just the insane chemistry these two share and I adore it! Just interesting that it was clearly something they were aware of early. Probably one of the best pairs of actors ever.

Nah, I barely felt their chemistry in the show itself at all, even though it's clearly there in buckets in real life. They kept telling us they were besties without really showing it. It's 13 and her 'fam' all over again.

its really sad cus i think if they hadnt only had 8 episodes then it wouldve flowed better. I am aware theres supposed to be several months worth long jump but its unfortunate we didnt get to see their friendship grow because theyre both extremely likeable

I'd rather have too familiar with a fun dynamic than the previous era's companions who had neither familiarity with the Doctor or a good dynamic

Ncuti and Millie are friendship goals and they are fantastic as the doctor and Ruby

Lenny eatin the props is my highlight😂

Ncuti getting increasingly Scottish with his baby voice is so cute 😂

Such a great season and such lovely people xxx

This was my first doctor who and I fell in love with Ncuti and Millie’s chemistry. They’re so wonderful together.

You guys brought back the fun as well as a proper Doctor Who feel to the show, thank you 💙💙

Really like the new doctors vibe, this season may not have ended great, but I feel it started out strong and am looking forward to a second season with him.

Omg Ncuti first big scene was the ending of dot and bubble as a stand alone Doctor he really acted so well there that’s crazy I’m not even the biggest fan of that episode but I think if they keep this up with him this is gonna be a really good era of the show

7:14 - 7:30 "We miss him" 🫶 we miss Jonathan too 😭 #FindRogue overall this is a GREAT Season 1 for Ncuti and Millie and Jonathan (yes I'm including him in all Whovian now 😜) and the return of RTD 🤗. the finale didn't quite stick the landing for me but that's fine and forgivable because this season gave us Rogue and Maestro (serendipitously those are on the same shooting block, something special about that Apr-May 2023) and Boom and Dot and the Toymaker and UNIT as the new tenant of Stark Tower 😜. overall I'm a Happy Whovian 🥰👍 now RTD and Team DW, please learn the lessons of this season, fix what needs to be fixed in Season 2 to make sure problems aren't repeated, and for the love of the Pantheon FIND ROGUE! WE WANT JONATHAN GROFF BACK!

​@@EllieKissinger I get it. but people should just stop thinking it a GAY romance and just think it's a ROMANCE period. two grown ass people that vibed together and was hoping to explore a relationship with each other. that's it. in the last century, inter-racial romance was taboo, inter-faith romance was sacrilegious, now it's every other relationship around us. the world didn't end, the human race is still thriving, see how life goes on if perspectives stay objective and not biased? ✌️💞

I ADORE this new Doctor & his companion! Ncuti is a gifted actor & he's gorgeous eye candy, too. Millie is an adorable breath of fresh air! They've really grown on me, so after the 1st season, I miss them already! Hope they'll be returning...SOON!

something i've always wondered is why everything is always shot out of sync. how are you as an actor supposed to bring continuity into the strength of a friendship when you're constantly bouncing between different stages of how well they know each other?

Convenience, timing and budget. Having worked in television, I learned that it is indeed much more cost-effective to shoot certain scenes ahead of others, especially if some scenes require specific locations. For example, they likely shot all TARDIS scenes over the course of a week. That way, they won't have to travel back and forth to the set, or have to rebuild the set over and over.

My favourite episodes of the season are "Boom," "73 Yards," and, of course, the 2 part finale with Sutekh!

I love both of them so much, they really made this newer season worth watching! Also anyone else think Millie would make an amazing Tonks in a Harry Potter remaks?

@@4884nat On a technical level, 10 and 14 do have some differences in how they act. They are similar, but David Tennant did say he played both differently.

These two are an absolute delight.

Like both characters. I'm sad to see Ruby go already. I thought she was a new Rose. The ending isn't strong. The Mom being important for being important is a cool concept, but it wasn't pulled off in a satisfying way. I like the 4th wall breaks. It is just the right amount.

Loved watching you two on screen this season, and what a fantastic season it was too. Thank you to you both!

I enjoyed the "first season" with this new Doctor and companion and I´m already excited for the next season when we see them again.

Well done, guys. Had a lot of fun with Season 14/1, and was taken on a ride from beginning to end. Can't wait for the next installment. (And I better see more of that brown jacket Ncuti, it looks good mate LOL)

It appears that the Daleks and Cybermen really didn't appear in this Season. Nor did any other Doctor Who Monster that we've seen before. But that doesn't mean they won't appear next Season.

Still insane that 73 Yards was Millie's first episode and Dot and Bubble was Ncuti's first. Two acting powerhouses right there. Hope we get to see a lot more Millie on the next season!!!

2 things you haven't taken into account. 1. The series was filmed between 2022-2023. The legend of Ruby Sunday and Empire of death was filmed in June-July 2023 so technically Ruby would have been 18 even though Millie Gibson would have not long turned 19 . 2. Ruby Sunday was born on the 24th December 2004 which currently still makes her 19 . When we get to the Christmas special and season 2 Ruby will be 20 . So yes it does make sense . In case you're wondering Millie Gibson is 20 now but her Character Ruby is 19 .. hope that cleared it up

Ncuti cried way too much but apart from that i liked him. Millie was done dirty by the plot, but her acting was fine and she was pretty stylishly.

I Liked Season1

millie only being in one season is stupid, write her back in, only having 8 episodes to cover her entire story is stupid... everything happened way too fast what happened to the slow deliberate story telling that sucked us in? sutekh is back for like a grand total of 5 minutes screen time after all that build up you crammed into a few short episodes?

I stopped watching halfway through the Capaldi series. Came back for 3 episodes of Jodie, then quit again, forced myself to sit through the first 2 of this season, but had to stop because I like myself too much to do something as cruel as subject my mind to this flaming turd of a show. Judging from the ratings, most of the Dr. Who fanbase did exactly the same thing. Makes me think there may be hope for society yet. I spent much of the summer outside touching grass, it indeed was way more enjoyable than watching this show. Thanks for such great advice!!

RTD & Ncuti has saved Dr Who after Jodie Whitaker with the poor scripts nearly destroyed the franchise.

It's not her fault that Chris Chibnall wrote those scripts that way. Jodie Whittaker is not at fault there because she didn't write those scripts. Chris Chibnall wrote them.

So minimizing the in your face gay moments I would have to watch would require skipping "Boom" and "Regency".

@@michaelholloway2295 I don’t have a problem with it, I just asked why. I remember when I was a teen I had a problem with gayness because everyone around me was very homophobic. I am not gay, but have no problem seeing it in shows because I grew out of the childish insecurity I felt that if I saw gay things it might rub off on me! Obviously a very silly thing to hold onto into adulthood…

@@Mojo1356 yeah I’ll be honest and not sugarcoat it for the sake of supporting the first black and gay Doctor or whatever. I found the series entertaining and fun to watch. The finale was disappointing, but overall, I think it is a pretty good watch and worth it, especially since it’s only 8 episodes so not much commitment needed. I’d say give it a try, for sure. I’ll warn you that the 1st episode is pretty weak compared to the rest so don’t get scared off. They were aiming at making the show more for children than the original 2005 reboot. The best episodes are Boom and 73 Yards and I would absolutely recommend them for any Doctor Who fan, even if you dislike Space Babies and The Devil’s Chord.
