    You can tell that it’s a continuation upon the Civil War era drill. They have ‘fall in’ ‘count ‘ ‘dress right dress’. It’s just that there’s modern adaptions like keeping distance and counting upwards instead of One’s and Two’s. They still sort by height. By file left/right is now column left/right. Marching by the flank is different I think... I should read more about it. Right about march is now ‘Rear’. So ye, very similar.

    For those of you who say that pressing of uniform is not authorized. Read your AR 670-1 a little closer. "Professionally Pressed" and "Starched" is not authorized. I press my own uniforms at home and get the same look as professionally pressed from a distance.

    Career Soldier Absolutely, especially with the newer ACUs (with the buttons on the cargo pockets - they also have insect repellant built in). However, the FR ACUs can turn orange/pink under a hot iron and A2CUs shouldn't be pressed. I iron my regular ACUs. Feels good to look good, especially in uniform. I almost miss seeing the whites of my eyes in the morning in my old Altimas with a fresh coat of Lincoln wax and Kangaroo ;)

    Question: Let's say I want to inspect that my squad has a document in their top, left uniform pocket (orders, medical form, etc.) that they should all have on them on duty. When in the inspection process should I ask for the document (I assume while facing the soldier)? How should the command be given to produce the document? Should I order all soldier to get out the document at the same time or one by one as I inspect them?

  • @LawnPygmy

    @LawnPygmy

    6 жыл бұрын

    Some can be done on either foot, such as quick-time, double-time, route-step, and mark-time, but you'll always begin marching on the left foot and all facing movements should be done on the same foot you're turning towards. The reason is that the next movement isn't to execute the movement, it's a step. This is to bring your opposite foot forward and give you stability while pivoting. Think 'step-turn' in your head.
