Yeah, I was born in late 1987, so just barely missed the last ACC tournament win. Undergrad was 2005-2009, so this has been a magical season for me. Shout out to the women’s team getting to the Elite Eight too!

The 2 DJs, Horne and Burns were outstanding once again. The physicality of N.C. State was too much for Marquette to handle tonight. Coach Keatts has done a great job of keeping this team together despite his seat getting hotter

Lived in Laffy for 16 years and kids marched in LHS band. Tanks for the support. It has been a wild ride. Hoping for an 83 repeat.

People seem to forget that NC State won the ACC tournament They are a team you cannot mess around with regardless of their seed

What these boys are doing is so special. I wasn’t alive in ‘83 but I know the story well and it sure feels like that again. Thank you so much from a lifelong Pack fan! On to Duke!

Seeing Burns play reminds me why I love this sport so much 😊

From being the 10 seed in the ACC tournament and having to win it to even go to the dance to be a game away from the final four. If they manage to win it all it will be the greatest season in college basketball history. Movies don't even dare write a script like this because it just doesn't happen. Confidence and momentum is off the charts.

Facts. The 1983 season was before there were 64 teams in the NCAA tournament, and they only had to win three ACC tournament games to get the bid. And that team was ranked mid teens in both the coaches and AP polls.

Been a fan of NC State since 82, Jimmy V an the gang made a magical run to the title. Been waiting a long time for a repeat! I'm loving this magical run too, Burns is a once in a decade player, reminds me of a mix of Moses Malone an Charles Barkley he's fun to watch for sure. But the whole team is loaded with special talent, they are all in the zone as well as the coaching staff, they've got their eyes on the prize!! 🏀🏆❤ Their all heart don't give up play is amazing and inspiring. 💪😁🔥

Yep! Best night in Wolfpack basketball history. The men’s 1973-74 championship was the year before the women’s started, and the women only made it to the Sweet Sixteen during that miracle 1982-83 men’s season.

Loyola-Chicago made the final 4.. a MID MAJOR. That’s way more impressive imo. Saying that, I hope NC State wins it all. I don’t think anyone is beating Uconn though

@@jacobrichardson1455 Chicago is a good candidate and maybe you are right but also remember part of NC State cinderrella run includes ACC tournament which was almost as impressive as a Final Four run in it of itself. It's at least as impressive as an Elite Eight considering State beat three tournament teams including a 1 and 4 seed in the final three games. This is way more impressive than winning a small conference like Loyola or Florida Atlantic or some of the teams named.

Great year for state so far

Burns been balling on d scoring rebounding and his passing is amazing. If he doesn't have it in the paint he dishes it in the best way for his teammates to score. If they win it all I win 17.6k

@Jotwice7 the crazy thing is I'm in NC where the sports betting just went live and I bet after they won vs Texas Tech but I did it on multiple apps to get the benefit of all the free bets they give you so I've only got 35$ of my own money on them and like a dozen 25$ free bets that they give you if you sign up and bet like 10$

What's crazy is that the '83 team only had to win 9 games, that's including the ACC tournament, to be national champs. This team has already won 8 in a row with 2 to go just to make it to the championship game. Also, who else out there was on the brick yard April 4, 1983. Go Pack.

Burns sorta reminds me of Jokic. Hes big, not that fast, limited but somehow gets the job done. He brings the team together with his style of play. If hes not scoring, hes passing or assisting a scoring play. There will be so much attention on Burns that he will need to use his options. Allow Burns to be the playmaker as a big man. Also, he needs to watch his fouls because without Burns, they have no chance against UConn.

Been a pack fan since 1980 when I move to NC. Went thru the years of being laughed at. Got to experience Hillsborough St. when State won in 1983. Now I feel like its happening all over again. Let's beat Duke again and go to the final 4

I grew up between Duke and UNC...... sorry Tarheels lost but am proud of them for another great year!...... Now pulling for the Blue Devils at Duke! My dad played for Duke in 1944 & '45. They beat Alabama in the Sugar Bowl ....football. Yes....they had a great team in 44-'45! Went both ways back then....offense & defense. He was quite tackle and weighed just 215lbs!. But they went both ways...offense and defense!. No 400 pounders playing that game! Smashmouth!

NC State fans insist it is their D, but of the 27 missed 3s the vast majority were open looks. Saw a Stat that during regular season, opposing teams shot 35% from 3 vs NC St, but in tourney it is 24%. They will need Purdue to shoot equally badly to have a shot.

for the record, NC State is NOT a cinderella. Cinderellas are mid majors only, don’t let that #11 seed fool you. they won the ACC, the 2nd toughest conference in basketball in a “down year” so said a lot of experts on the internet behind a screen.

NC state just hammered Marquette, but that’s. not surprising. Marquette’s been quite shaky. NC state owns all the ACC teams right now, except for maybe Clemson. They’ll probably beat Duke again because they have the confidence to do it since they’ve done it before and likey knows all Duke’s weaknesses and will outmart them again. NCstate knows all there weakness and likely has confidence to beat them and outsmart them again. Seems like they own many of the good teams

We beat Clemson at Clemson, that was one of our few good regular season wins

N.C was just to big and physical, Marquette couldn’t match their tenacity and a lot of shots didn’t drop to help them out today. Good game overall
