Out of all of these promos, my personal favorite has to be WRGB's. I don't live in this station's territory, but it felt like they put their whole heart and soul into that one. They even put cartoons in there that didn't even air on NBC (Woody Woodpecker stopped airing on NBC after 1976, and Tom and Jerry never aired on NBC, but my guess is that they were reran in the afternoon, like any other local station would do)

For Version 2 find KXAS in Dallas/Fort Worth, KGNS-TV in Laredo, WIS-TV in Columbia, KTVV in Austin, WTVG in Toledo, WPTV in West Palm Beach, KMOL-TV in San Antonio, WCKT in Miami/Fort Lauderdale, WAFF in Huntsville/Decatur and WDSU in New Orleans for Version 2 pls

And I thought this would be a compilation of NBC O&Os .. Examples: WNBC Channel 4, New York/KNBC Los Angeles MAQ Chicago WRC 4 Washington KYC 3 Cleveland KXAS 5 Dallas KPRC 2 Houston Those are all the NBC O&Os I know, but this was an amazing compilation!

​@DMA180Guy I remember that one of my local CBS channels, KOAM, used to be NBC before switching with what used to be KTVJ-TV, and they switched in 1983. This means that there more than likely used to be a Proud As A Peacock bumper for KOAM. However, it is most likely lost to time. I'm just sharing some info I know about my local NBC station.

@@DMA180Guy Not that I know of, I just remember them from my growing up, and it was the time I was in high school.

On cable TV in Atlantic Canada, we got WLBZ from Bangor, Maine. They're still with NBC today. Many of these affiliates were strongly tempted to switch networks or even go completely independent in 1979, because NBC was in *really* bad shape. But that would change dramatically within five years.

1979 was the year that the original Twin Cities NBC affiliate, KSTP, switched over to ABC after growing tired of NBC’s poor performance. While WTCN wound up gaining the new affiliation with NBC, it was far from a success for the first 3-4 years. All of the on-air talent shown for NewsCenter 11 would be gone by the end of 1982. By 1981, the station was already preempting NBC prime time and late night programming in favor of syndicated fare. The station was sold to Gannett the following year. Metromedia was the previous owner and ran WTCN as a moderately successful independent station, but couldn’t or wouldn’t pour the necessary money into the property to turn it around and make it competitive with both KSTP and WCCO, the two dominant stations in the market.

WIAR in Providence Rhode Island this! They were an NBC affiliate from the beginning,owned by Outlet Communications until the 1990’s when General Electric merged with Outlet Communications making it a O&O in the 1990’s,then In late 2008,Media General bought the station,Still a NBC affiliate and in 2012 Sinclair bought the station from Media General,still an NBC affiliate till today owned by Sinclair.

WCWB now WMGT in Macon looks like the cheap low budget station that it has always been.

Wonder what KYW-TV (Then an NBC affiliate, and now a CBS O&O station) looked like for the Delaware Valley (Philadelphia area).

This was the timeframe that KYW ran the Direct Connection News and Station promos so I doubt Channel 3 ran these ads with their own local ID.
