As a Brit I have to say, he uses cliche British phrases that Americans think we say but we don’t actually use. “My wife can’t walk down the pavement without harassment” we just say walk down the road, it’s obvious that he’s trying to show that he says ‘pavement’ instead of ‘sidewalk’ to appear British but instead he’s just incriminating himself. Also He referred to tabloid papers as “the red tops” which no one’s actually does outside of books and old movies/tv shows

Actually, Americans often refer to it as “the pavement.” Not a defense of Nick, obviously. If anything, that’s even more incriminating that he uses a more American phrase to describe the road/sidewalk. As for “red tops,” yeah, this dude watches too many movies, lol

She seems a fair bit older than him, I think that is part of the reason she’s in on this act, she scored herself a younger man. She’s well spoken and clearly intelligent. I think she knows the truth and I think at some point Nicholas told her the truth, maybe not until after they were married? She probably does love him very much, she would have to in order to go along with this. I am willing to bet Nicholas sold this to her as a “me against the world” scenario and that what he’s been accused of is part of some plot to discredit him. He is a narcissist, he wants to celebrated as a hero for being a victim of the child welfare system. (It is obvious he was failed by his parents). I think she has to have some narcissistic tendencies too. Thing is Nicholas probably would have gotten significantly more years on the run had he kept a low profile but that’s not him. I understand he threatened staff in the hospital and I believe that is why the police were called and when they heard his phoney accent they decided to look into him and then matched him up with his Interpol warrant.
