Dunk Buster I do doubt those sources though bro. I've seen that website. There is no way Gerald only has 39'' vert. He is 80'' tall. The Rim is 120 inches. Getting his head at rim level would be a 40'' vertical alone, but on his windmill alley oop dunk he gets his whole head above the rim which would be about 48'' or more.

I didn't really unsubscribe, but Gerald green definitely has more than a 39, I've seen videos of green jumping without a basketball and getting his chin above the rim, I've seen him do a standing between the legs with no shoes on, I have seen him do an under both legs dunk and I've seen him jump over markief Morris without even touching him..I don't think that would be possible with a 39 inch vertical

I like this list, but for most players, there are no official sources that have their true vertical measured. I highly doubt Jordan was the highest jumper in NBA history.

Nobody got up as high as he did even in college at North Carolina State was he playing above the rim catching lobs over UCLA's Bill Walton in NCAA Championship game when dunking was outlawed in college game.. To the pro ranks in ABA first with Denver Nuggets and then into the NBA-ABA merger was he seen dunking over the NBA's best.. this man had tremendous vertical leaping as listed at 6'4..

Westbrook = 40" Vince Carter = 43" Gerald Green = 42" Derrick Rose = 40" Don't know the other twos verticals. DJ Stephens has a 46" vertical though, and Muggsy Bogues a 44". I don't know about Nate Robinson, but he probably has something like a 45" vertical too.

Kadrian Jackson for Gerald green he is 6'6 which is 42 inches below the rim, he was looking down at the rim being at least 4 inches above it. hence 46 inches. As for wilt this picture was scaled with respect to his height and it showed how high he was off the ground. You can calculate it yourself, this pic shows wilt 48 inches off the ground. David Thompson was listed as 44" vertical in college. Vince Carter has been listed at 43". Wilt Chamberlain has been listed at 48". Michael Jordan, Clyde Drexler and Julius Erving were more high gliders than leapers but all three had mad hops. But Jordan has been listed at 46". But who recorded these numbers is difficult to obtain.

Curious where you got the verticals from...? Love that they're included. But, pretty sure Spud had higher than 46", as he needed more than that to do what he did. Good stuff. Even if it is a bit modern-leaning. Don't forget the past.

First and foremost, Dominique Wilkins. If only for the giant two hand slam he did in that one game, on the whole team. Or that other one, where he jumped and got the rebound, and everyone paused a split second in awe. Then he hammer dunked it on the whole team. Are these just your favorites?

a lot of people in the comment section are dropping names but they're writing the best dunkers while this list is strictly about their vertical

To me a vertical is 2 feet jump. All these were basically 1 foot jump. And no Doninique

It loses credibility when you leave out Vince Carter. He may not have had the most vertical leaping ability but he was one of the best dunkers in his era.

Corey Williams not quite 2 years ago Vince vertical leap was 44 inches, that being said, he definitely had the best leap in his prime. and no, he is not one of the best dunkers in his era. He is theeeeee best dunker of all time. there is no better dunk contest than his and no better in-game dunk than over this poor center dude of the French Olympic team... period. BTW this list has nothing to do with top ten vertical leapers, any list with no VC at numero uno in it, is worthless conglomerate of somewhat good dunkers.

Everyone is saying vince carter, Wilkins Nate Robison etc and sure they 100% belong on this list but you are all leaving out the highest jumper in the NBA of all time, David Thompson. I mean the man could touch the top of the back board.

The player with the highest vertical jump ever was DJ Stephens, but he only played in the NBA for a few days

Sal Consiglio​​ it's because all his dunks are all the same he'll do a back scratcher or a right hand cock back tomahawk it gets repetitive I've seen him do those dunks for along time and the way he goes up isn't that cool his body is really big it doesn't look smooth like lavine does with his body or vince they seem more flexible in the air

The Goddess you might want to go look up the highest verticals in nba history...Jordan sits at the top alone with a 48 inch vertical, highest to date.

+Dunk Buster only by statistics. In game, he has gotten his neck at rim level. And since he's 6'7, it would take 48" just to get 7" of his head above the rim. Considering the average humans head is 9", his is probably bigger, so statistics arent always accurate.

Michael Jordan didn't have the best vertical when he was doing distance dunks but when he was doing dunk closer to the hoop he was unstoppable

I thought spud Webb was going to be number 1 he's only 5 foot 7! He had to have had more than a 46 inch vertical I thought it would've been over 50

Another thing. Vertical leap is a measurement of high you jump with 2 feet gathered under you and without benefit of a running start. There are 2 kinds of leapers. Dominic Wilkins was a 2 foot leaper. Michael Jordan was a 1 foot guy. We don't really know how high 1 foot leapers get up in the air because there is no measurement. We can only go by what were seeing.

Carter and Francis supposedly had 43" and Iverson had legitimate 42" vertical leap. More than some of the players listed here.
