That’s true. PJ Washington couldn’t stay in front of either man. Klay was a lockdown wing in his prime. Luka was actually our best perimeter defender in the finals. We are very close. Lively will be better too

Mavs will be worse. Two reasons: 1. Regression to the mean. They’re not likely to get to the finals two years in a row in a tough western conference. 2. Klay is just not the same player. He forces bad shots and is no longer a great defender.

“Regression to the mean” yea except for the fact that Finals team was literally only together for 5 months if that and Luka was injured the entire playoffs. It’s so funny how many casual ass fans are in the NBA. 2. Mavs don’t need him to be old Klay but you’d know that if you actually watched the Mavs play basketball & his defense will absolutely not be an issue because of the way the Mavs play defense & they have elite rim protection on the court for 48mins a game unlike 99% of teams in the NBA & versatility with all the pieces they have added.

Reminds of Carmelo when he start bouncing around the league and eventually bounced out of the nba. Hope not though.

How did ur brain come to that conclusion? First off Melo was still in his prime when he left Denver! He was ball’n as a Knick but didn’t have the supporting cast. Amare was always hurt. Towards the end of his career he still was ball’n and had a lot left in the tank, even tried adapting his game to today’s nba. But overall he was too physical & they blackballed him out the league. Klay is still Klay he’s gonna prove a lot of haters wrong! Mark my words
